I was just sat watching TV, my babies happy jogging away on their wheel, when I heard a strange noise.
It sounded like they had got their toy stuck under the wheel with the noise it was making so I went to investigate and move said toy.
There was no toy, nothing in fact was under the wheel. So I layed on the floor and watched for a bit.........
Slick jumped in and had a run, then Bash chucked him off and had his go, then Slick jumped back in, there was a stale mate as one likes to go one way and one the other way, so Bash the small one got off.
Bash then jumped back in and they looked so sweet running together, I thought the wheel must just have been squeaking or something. Until.............Bash jumped off, went for a wander, came back and grabbed the wheel with his paws to stop Slick running round. At first I was worried he would hurt (burn with the friction) his paws, so I told him to stop, next thing I know, I saw where the noise was coming from.........
Not only was Bash using his hands to stop the wheel, but he was was trying to stop it with his TEETH ? ? ? ?
Has anyone ever known their goos do this, I'm so worried he will hurt himself doing this |

Mine jump in as the wheels are going and they also grab hold of the wheel, not sure if i have ever seen one grab the moving wheel with his teeth though I'm sure if it was hurting Bash he wouldn't do it but then again i don't know as degus can do some silly things _________________

Yeah mine jump in as it's moving. Infact Bash runs like mad, jumps off and jumps straight back on, etc, etc, etc, he's mad.
Hope his teeth are ok, I'll just keep an eye on him _________________

One of my rescues Bandit is mental, he has a hay cage and he is obsessed with emptying it as quickly as he can and then he bashes it against the cage and he pulls it out as far as he can then darts under it as its thundering towards him, thankfully he's too quick for it Degus seem to like to be dare devils _________________

Ok, these are very funny stories!
Imana also does something very silly, though not NEARLY as daring and dangerous as what your silly Goos are doing.
She takes the bar of her cage in her mouth with her teeth, and plucks it like a guitar string. It makes such a terrible racket! And she loves it. She'll do it for the longest time.
I always say "She's playing her cage again."
She also bangs her wheel against the wall of her cage like Bandit does with his hay loft. (Except Mana doesn't run between to tempt the fates of squishy.)
Degus are so weird sometimes. _________________

Bandit used to do the bar plucking till he found out the hay rack was much more fun I think he goes through fazes of finding stuff to do as he didn't have a very good start to life (he was kept in a hamster cage with no toys, no house, poor diet etc....) so he tries to amuse himself _________________
