My degu Taz is having a hard time now. On Sunday he lost his best friend. He seems to be a bit better now - he eats and drinks normally, plays, climbs, digs etc.
The only problem is that he doesn't want to sleep in his nest. He has got lovely, big, wooden shelter. He used to love it! Now even though I cleaned it, put fresh bedding stuff and paper, he doesn't want to use it he goes inside, throws all the bedding out and that's it. He doesn't sleep there, doesn't rest there.
He keeps sleeping on a wooden shelf or on top of his shelter.
WHY??
What's wrong? I feel sorry for him, it doesn't look comfortable or cosy.
What could I do? Any suggestions?
BTW, if you know someone who breeds degus near Reading - please let me know; I must find a male friend for Taz. Thanks.
I wouldn't worry about him, mine sleep all over the place. He will be adjusting to being on his own and will make the cage his own now. Just give him lots of extra attention and maybe try rearranging the cage aswell that may help him. If hes uncomfy he will move as degus love their creature comforts _________________
