Hey everyone, I am new to owning degus. But, I absolutely LOVE my baby girl. I had gotten her from a petstore and they had told me that she was a male- as I wanted a male. As of having her about a month or so, I had just realized today he was a she. She surprised me with 7 babies, she takes excellent care of them too. I have never owned a degu before, let alone take care of babies. I am very happy to have them too, but am confused on how to go about taking care of them. Is there anything special that I need to do for the mom or babies? Please I need some help here with raising the babies,  as I am VERY new to all of this. Any help would be great.

Basically there isn't much you really need to do as mum will do it all. The only thing i will say is limit handling for the first 3 weeks to avoid over stressing the babies and once they are 6 weeks old sex them and split them into male and female groups Smile
