hi i have 2 male degus that are just coming up to a year old and recently i've noticed that one was smaller than the other so i weighed them both. one (loki) is a perfect wieght and the other (ragnor) is nearly 90grams underweight. also ragnor is getting bullied so i seperated them but left the cages right next 2 each other so they could both still see the other and let them spend half an hour together supervised everyother day or so. ragnor seems to be a lot happier and gaining weight but loki although not losing weight doesn't seem happy and a little stressed. they have both become alot friendlier towards me and ragnor who has always been timid now willing jumps in to the exercise ball without a problem something he's never done.
should i but them back together or find loki another friend that maybe he can't bully or would putting them both in together and introducing 1-2 more degus to see if that helps cause they'll have others to talk to aswell.
any advice welcome very confused. |

new development loki has drawn blood from ragnor the other day so they are now sperated for good and have found another friend for ragnor and all is going well so far. it still leaves the problm of what to do with loki though as he really isn't happy on his own. |
