There is a thread on VN boards about windows vista but I will summarize it here.
To get AC to work on win-"DOH!" Vista, you need to uninstall your antivirus, then try another antivirus that does work. So far Norton, and PC Micro do not work. Bitdefender 10 (free version) works, you just have to go to http://www.bitdefender.com and download the free edition. Be sure it is Bitdefender 10 free edition.
Decal....
All Decal Plugins as well as Decal MUST be installed in a folder other than Program Files!!!!

Now that I got your attention :D
Decal and the plugins work well being installed in your documents folder. I created a folder called acplugins, then installed all plugins to that folder. Also handy for tracking down that plugin that you want to edit a php file for.... but that's for another thread :)
For lifetank, you have to do a couple commands after it is installed.
1.) Open a command prompt (search for cmd in the search bar and click on cmd)
2.) Type the following commands:
regsvr32 /u /s mswinsck.ocx
regsvr32 /u /s msinet.ocx
BINGO! Now LTxi will auth properly and it will work!
This will also work for some other plugins that aren't working quite right.
