Ok, so I typically have some time during the week at work (on breaks) to spend a few minutes going to our board and adding info. I have posted a few questions but can tell the traffic is a little slim on the site. I will try and provide info as I can and share sites or relevant information as I become aware….and answer questions if I know the answer. I will also try and keep a journal just for fun on how I am doing and maybe as a way to get input suggestions or feedback if someone happens to read this…
Update #1
9/15/08
Well I have made it to level 59 (09/13/08) I had hoped to make level 60 this weekend but I am in the Reserves and I was pretty tired when I got home, so did not get too much playing time in… I have been mainly hunting the Blighted Moarsmen Dungeon near Tou Tou . The Blighted Disgusting Moarsmen pay decent XP (20K per) for a low level toon and drop Lvl 7 scrolls and are on a quick spawn (So it works good for me now). I ran through some of the Mini’s with Chu-Chu on Saturday and got some quick decent XP… (I need to get in the habit of running mini's as the timer allows) I also ran the Font of Joji quest Saturday (Great fun, I ran with one other person or rather should say I followed. I regret I cannot recall their toon name I think I wrote it down at home and will update this post later to give credit where credit is due.)...(Think I remember Talrack <sp>...mmmm...that makes me feel better...He did a great job getting us quickly through the quest) I made the orb for my Mage character Mu Lech, I did not see a need to create a font since there is one at the Mansion and at my Cottage. Speaking of Mu Lech I swore him to Horseshoe, so now Mu Lech is part of DoJ.
I also tried hunting the Fuin, but think I need some better weapons (or the right weapons) I could hit everything but it took forever to take stuff down and given the time/xp ratio I am still better off killing the Blighted Moarsmen (for now)… I probably need rended weapons or some such… I will try and get something at the MP but most of the stuff I saw there had to high of base sword requirement for me I think I am currently at 327 base sword on my way to 350… I think I might take Mu Lech over to Fuin though and see how he can do.
This week will be a little light on playing time… I will be back to my normal on for 30 minutes here and there… I will be shooting for level 65 by the end of the week but that might be optimistic…(note to self run the dang mini's) _________________ S n S Level 172+

Made level 63 last night…Woot! I was only hoping to make 60, so I was very happy…I Hunted my normal places as listed in my previous update. Killed many Blighted Moarsmen in the dungeon near Tou Tou…My timer was up, so I could get the egg and make the note run for XP. I also do the lower level Blighted Moarsmen dungeon over at Redspire (This is easy XP) I think roughly 6 Mil or so at my level. (XP is % based on level) I also saw that Chu-Chu was running Mini’s so I joined in…a brief word about Mini’s I seem to be able to hang with some big brothers and sisters around... I do not hit too hard unless the creatures are vuln’d. I do however hit them, which gives me hope that with the correct weapons I will eventually take some of the kills in that place. Do not get me wrong I can kill some of the minions but the Mains have tremendous life…(I am sure most of you know this already)…anyway guessing I made another 15 Mil doing Mini’s. So my hunch based on my experience at Fuin and doing Mini’s is that part of my issue are my tools, aka my swords. That brings me to the Marketplace (MP).
Ok, so the other night Chu-Chu gives me a boat load of MMD notes (Thank You Chu) to go to MP and buy stuff… This sounds easy…well for a player gone from the game for many moons things are different… of course there was a Marketplace and bots before I stopped playing (previously), but I never used them and therefore had no real experience on how to buy stuff. I messaged Chu who was kind and patient and explained the basic commands, however I am a little slow sometimes, and still could not get things to work…so, I jumped on some AC sites and finally found that most if not all bots use AC Trade. There is a particular format to use when buying stuff. I might make a separate post on this just in case other oldbies or possibly newbies have the same questions I did. Long story short I bought a couple of rend swords with base 350 requirements… (Acid and Slash) most swords in the Marketplace are 400 base, so my selection was limited. I will not be able to use these swords for a little while… My base sword is 338, which sounds really close but the exponential cost to raise skills has made it roughly 2 points per level max and I think this will be soon 1 point per level and then…You get the picture… So my new goal and really has been for sometime is to get to a 350 base sword skill with an eye on 400 (way on the distant horizon).
So to summarize last night.... It was a fun night again....Looking forward when I can help more than be a burden…hopefully that will be very soon…. I should be on the game some tonight…I think I can run Mini’s after 11pm, hopefully I will get a chance to do that….but that is dangerously close to my bedtime. I will continue to hunt my normal places, but if anyone has a better suggestion, I am getting tired of the Moarsmen screech…
And that ends today’s S n S update… _________________ S n S Level 172+

Ok, a day late on this…. I have been really busy at work… no breaks for me. Well I moved up a couple of levels and am now Level 64. I think my estimates were off a little on getting my sword skill to 350. I am currently sitting at 348 and I would gestimate that I need 16-18 million in XP to get over the hump.
I did not play at all last night…I went to a baseball game (Texas Rangers vs. Detroit Tigers) ummm the Rangers were getting spanked, so I left in the 6th inning…which was a good call they lost 17-4…I was with my GF ergo (No AC).
September 16th Game Play Update:
I completed the Tusker Guard kill quest…This pays 20 mil in XP. Additionally I completed the cull the Drudges kill 50 Raveners and 100 Stalkers quest… I am guessing this took me 2 full level 7 buff cycles and maybe part of a 3rd. I tied to a BSD and hacked away… I would clear the whole BSD and as you know or should know there are lots of Virinidi and Drudges at the end, so it was kind of like triple dipping. I think given the time vs XP this is a good quest to run for my character. I probably could have run it at an earlier level as I could 1 hit Tusker Guards from time to time. I had very little issue at level 62. I typically evaded the Tuskers, but the magic from the Virinidi and Drudges did hit occasionally. They will cast a ton and there are a lot of them so, even though I resisted most of the time I still had to watch my health just in case….
I also tied to Fuin. Which I now know is a dungeon and not the Fuin Outpost. Level 115 Fuin’s there that I can take. I think they pay 70k in XP per kill. The spawn rate is good and the loot is ok… So killed on them for awhile…Seems like pretty easy XP. I need to make a list of quests and timers that I can run to maximize XP (This maybe fodder for a future post)… I might try the Olthoi armor quest again just for fun soon and see if I can actually take the Matron Brood whatever her name is…
I should be on tonight and hopefully get to my 350 base sword and be able to wield my rend swords and a cool Olthoi sword I got from running mini’s...
Chu-Chu had me break and re-swear to Blu Mistress which is fine… and while I am on the subject of of Chu-Chu, I would like to thank Chu for the portal to Fuin. Chu-Chu has been awesome and a great Patron…
Hopefully I can run mini’s tonight first thing…and kill me some Fuin to finally get to 350 sword…I will probably up my staff after that and my base magic skills…oh…and health and stamina and endurance….I started at 10 endurance, so it is a little expensive but nothing like sword…
Dun..Dun..Dun..Dun.....Dun..Dun......Dun...Dun....Dun.Dun...DunDun...Dun (Outro music for Warner Bros. Cartoons...) and in the immortal words of Porky Pig....

Yesterday was the night of the “Long Knives” for me (If you do not know what the “night of the long knives” is…google it….) So, anyway I died a couple of times…If someone sees my body in the Fuins please message and I will @permission… (by the way) that place is a freaking maze…Walked into some room and got lit up like a Christmas Tree… Must of had 6-10 shots of Fuin love all at once and I failed to heal twice and then a few more kisses blown my way, which = S n S corpse. Well I pretty much have written that body off unless I stumble upon it in the next couple of days… that was death numero uno…
Take 2… It was late and I was tired and getting ready to log but saw a message pop up about a Col mini’s run on the “General” board. I am tied there now so, I portal straight there. I see a PK dart into the Mosswart mini boss arena. I forget that particular bosses name…anyhow…so, I follow him. Imagine my surprise when I materialize in the arena….and…nobody is in there…no PK…no other fighters…just little oh me… The room was not technically empty. There was a room full of Mossy’s looking at me and me with an “oh crap” look on my face…fumbling to wield my wand so I can port back out…um…(Don’t we all have stories like this…) Much like the Fuin experience just a bunch of flashing and explosions as magic is cast all over my body…I get my wand out cast recall…health is now at 5…eeek….I go through the motions and am disappearing…sweet…and appear back at the lifestone except…not from me casting LS recall…ouch… So, I guess my body will be there and hopefully I can get it tonight unless it disappears…
I guess relative to the old days of AC when I use to die all the time, my death total sitting at 18 is not too bad…and some of those were just suicides at early levels trying to take stuff I had no business messing with…and stupidity like the Col thing last night.
Now for the good news…I am level 68 and could make 70 this weekend depending on playing time… I have a baseball game Saturday night Rangers vs LAA and GF is coming over and family time, so will not be on much if at all Saturday…but should be on Sunday some…not sure about tonight maybe just to try and get my body at the Col and maybe go to Fuins to maybe find my body and to work off my “V”.
Second piece of good news… my sword in now base 350, so I can wield some of the rended swords I have purchased… They work much better : ) I was hitting Fuin’s for max Crit of 279 and took at least 1 down on a one hit… I ran the Olthoi lesser armor quest…kinda of screwed that up as well…I thought there were just 2 matrons in there…after killing the 2nd I ported…I reread the quest write up and think it is saying that there are 2 broods and 2 queens per dungeon…oops… anyway I was basically untouchable and dispatched the brood matron nymphs (the low level ones with no problems… I was hitting them for a about 90 per swing and one hitting most everything else…) I know that was the lowest dungeon but wanted to test things out considering I had trouble last time I went there…
So, what are my immediate goals…make level 70 pump some points into base skills…get my health and Stamina (endurance) up…improve my magic D and add some points to staff… I would like a good rended staff to do bludgeon damage which I am guessing is an “Armor” rended staff… My base staff is 300… Once I get my base numbers under control it will be back to adding points into my sword skill and base Strength and Coordination and some in Quickness… I got my eye on 400 sword but I am guessing 40-60 levels to make that happen…I put a few points into melee from time to time but I seem to evade most of the creatures I am fighting…I am sure this will change…I do have my eye on that 80+ Greater Olthoi Armor just to have…but will complete the lesser and maybe work my way up….through the various other dungeons… Just as an observation on Fuins…I find it has great XP but is kind of boring…and I hate all the debuffs and magic….it gets visually annoying after awhile…
Ok…that is pretty much it for today’s update… _________________ S n S Level 172+

Well I got to play a little more than I thought this weekend. I am now level 74. I have upped my health and stamina a bit… I am working on getting my sword to 360 and then will work on other attributes for a level or two … might dump some points into Focus, Self and Item in preparation of unspec’ing Item and training Life or Creature…I am also working on Magic Defense…another option instead of training Life or Creature could be to spec Magic D… I guess I will ask Chu-Chu or others in game and get their thoughts…(If anyone reads this you can post your 2 cents as well).
This weekend I did mini’s with Chu-Chu. Chu and I did pretty good... I did not die and actually got the kill on one of the bosses... I also ran 3 of the blighted Moarsmen XP quests… I find those are worthwhile for the XP and do not take too much time. This was the first weekend I ran the one by Danby’s Outpost. It was pretty easy no real problems… I also ran the lesser Olthoi Armor Quest again and that was easy as well although I missed the trophy for the gauntlets. I will probably run the “Good” armor quest next and see how hard that is…that is 400AL unenchantible. When I hit 80 I would like to do the Olthoi Greater but know there is know way I can solo that at level 80, so might want to get with a group if anyone is willing…However this weekend I mostly just I killed Fuins....
I need to play my mage Mu Lech some, so I can get him Col flagged for mini’s. He might be useful for buffing others at some point…maybe one day this week I can get him up a level or two.
I am looking for some input on (just for fun) or XP quests to solo… (feel free to add suggestions here)
I know there are many other kill quests but given my level and XP awarded these are ok (worthwhile)… the Tusker Guard Kill task may not be that great, but is a diversion from killing Fuins. Your thoughts are welcomed.
Well that is pretty much it…

I started off my AC evening by fellowing with a mage named Cesc in the Fuins Dungeon and we earned some XP. Not sure that I would not do better solo… I did that for awhile and leveled up. I saw the Chu was on and shopping and we met so she could give me some stuff she bought for my character…
My Patron Blu Mystress Aka Chu-Chu took care of me last night and purchased some nice swords from the Marketplace…which was a nice surprise. I had intended to try and solo the good Olthoi Armor Quest but plans are meant to be changed…
We ended up doing Col mini’s. Which was fun and quick… Chu gave me some extra Col trophies to turn in as well… After we ran the mini’s once we took a 10 minute break as Chu still had some time on her timer before she could collect tokens. So we waited awhile (I was on the phone anyway, so timing was good)and we ran mini’s again and I helped Chu-Chu run Blu Mystress through as well (helping my Patron is always a good thing).
I had to get up early and run this morning, so I did not want to play too late… It was pushing 10pm so I decided to go to Fuins and try out one of my new swords a Fire Rended Sword with excellent #s… like a hot knife through butter… I was tearing that place up… I still have some issue with the war magic hurting but I was one hitting with frequency and more commonly 2 & 3 hitting with a full power 1st swing and minimal power on the following swings…I ran pretty much everywhere in that dungeon down to Arb…. Laboratory portal and down where the Thungus are… I will say it again that place is a maze… I guess I will eventually figure it out… I ported back to Col to help someone mule and then went to MP just to look for a few seconds before I logged…
So I started the evening level 74 and ended the evening level 78. My sword is now base 363. I guess I will keep pushing onto 370 or 375 unless it gets way too painful (expensive)… I will have some time tonight so might run the Olthoi Quest this evening…I also need to start looking for an uber staff so I can have a nice bludgeon option…I also need to do a little research on the Fuins Dungeon as there is obviously a quest to be done there… (Glacial Water, Thungus and Portal Arb…Labatory…hmmmm)
Just in case it is not clear from my tone or words my Patron really is awesome (special thanks to Chu-Chu, thanks for the patience and support) _________________ S n S Level 172+

I am standing at the top of a stone ramp in a dimly lit enclosure. Behind me a purplish energy swirls and I know this to be the way out, but I am compelled by duty to move forward…
The growl of some untold beast echoes from in front of me…The ramp is steep but I manage it with little difficulty and find myself at an intersection.. The growl grows louder as I decide to move forward. “What is this place?” The sweat is running down my face and my body is hot under the heavy armor I wear. Dereth is a dangerous place. “By the great Lord Asheron please let this be a place where magic and spells are not used…” I cautiously move forward… in the dim light I can make out a figure of a man rocking back and forth…Could it be my friend that proceeded me into this unknown catacombs? “Cesc is that you…” No response, but the figure shakes violently…a flash of light and I realize that Cesc is no longer among the living this beast this creature has surely devoured him and will soon do the same to me. I draw my sword and raise my shield and charge… and so begins my journey…
Hehe….just having a little fun writing…That sounds much more exciting than what I really did last night. I basically hunted the Fuins and leveled to 79 woot! And then went to solo the “Good” Olthoi Armor quest…which I had no problem with other than I got lost and could not find the Matron or Queen…if you read some of my previous posts you know (or at least it is implied that I do from time to time get lost….especially in dungeons) apparently there is a point on this quest where you have to jump down…I have to be honest and say once I reached a certain spot at the top of a dead end platform, that the thought crossed my mind but it looked really high and I was unsure which direction to jump, so I ported… I reread the quest info on Maggie’s and indeed I was suppose to jump…Given the ease I had with the creatures I encountered I will probably try the next higher dungeon with the 450 armor to see what happens there…As long as I do not stam I take zero damage…the Olthoi just can not hit me….I also ran the Beach Fort Moarsmen Quest which seems to be bugged…I could not open the chest but was able to killed the guy at the end and get the letter so that was worth 9 mil I think… Kind of a pain because of all the portal jumping but ok XP I guess…No mini’s for me last night…
I caught a ride to Ayan at the Mansion and lifestoned there because I was thinking that might be a good place to be LS’d. and then returned to the Fuins for a little more Fuin fun. I fellowed again and once again I am not sure that is a good deal for me… Seems my XP only moved when I killed things… not sure if this is a proximity issue or that I kill more than others…kind of strange…granted this was only a 3 person fellow but really it was slow going and I was killing a lot… so I think I will decline next time and see how I do….
I ended the night getting buffs at the Mansion and logging out there…I will probably not be on much or at all tonight…if I am on it will be late and for a short period. I would really like to make level 80… This weekend is shaping up to be a limited play weekend as well… maybe I can get some game time Sunday night (maybe) I might be able to jump on a little Friday and Saturday but have several RL commitments and those take priority…
…my sword of fire struck the beast in the chest and with one final growl the decaying man creature fell only to be replaced by another shaking and spitting vile magic at me...I resisted the first volley and raised my sword yet again…”for Dereth…for Asheron..for Wandering Stranger…” and struck the beast flush in the head…
Scene fades out… _________________ S n S Level 172+

Ok…this is a couple of days of playing time crammed into one update.
….Death Calls…The Fiun Gaya asked for my help…his sadness was sincere and my desire to help overrode my common sense. I was asked to complete a task that was difficult for my level. My skills as a swordsman and my dexterity might be challenged on this quest…He gave me some instructions and a hatchet to start my adventure…
As I traversed the frozen land my hands numb with cold I finally located the Great Frozen tree from which I needed to retrieve a branch … I killed the beasts around the tree…Grominees of a bronze metal color that spit lightening. I dispatched them with ease and my speed served me well as there ability to strike was weak at best… However the task of cutting a branch proved difficult because the tree was frozen solid… I struck in various locations and fought through several spawns of beasts until I finally struck a blow high on the tree that provided me the branch I needed…
I visited the Fiun dungeon with the glacial water and infused the branch per the instruction…
I made my way back across the frozen land to a Ruischk camp to purify the branch in their ice fire… This task proved difficult. Using my skills as a warrior and my experience from past battles I decided to try a strategy of drawing out the enemy and fighting them on my terms…At first this worked well but eventually I brought over a higher level Ruischk that cast an evil spell on my shield and he dispatched me with ease…I found myself at a lifestone missing my best sword… I quickly prepared myself for battle and made my way to the Fiun Dungeon to exercise and train my skills to ensure all my abilities had been regained…Again I headed back to the camp and decided to attempt a more dangerous strategy… First I retrieved my body, which was out of the range of the beasts and collected my items… My new plan was to rush the camp and quickly place the branch in the fire and then exit… If I was dispatched a second time I would hopefully have completed the task and my body would be a little ways from the camp, if I was quick enough… I rushed the camp sword raised with a fierce yell hoping to scare the beasts… I think I heard laughter as I approached…I drew out the branch and attempted to place it in the fire… from the corner of my eye I saw a sword or something crashing towards me…and again I was at the Lifestone swordless and weak..
So, I reassessed my plan and decided the first plan was really my only option, draw them out and kill them… I regained my strength and made my way back for a third time … “These beasts will pay with their blood”. I mumbled to myself. Arriving at the camp I used my magical staff to cast war spells to draw them out, one at a time and dispatched them. When they cast that evil spell on my shield again I simply changed shields to counter the spell…Finally after some time I was able to dispatch all them… I left their bodies strewn around the camp as a message to the others…. And hopefully to inspire some fear in these violent beasts. I purified the branch and returned to Gaya…
Gaya was please and gave me a magical robe as a reward for my efforts but I had not done this deed for a reward… I was however happy to have my sword and my health… I shook the cold hand of Gaya and walked east off into the cold. I felt a twinge in my shoulder where I had been struck by those damn beasts but had the satisfaction of knowing that I had done something good this day…
I know there are a few spelling errors in the above… oh well…sorry… I cannot access info on AC at work so I am not sure how spell the creatures names all the AC sites are pretty much blocked accept for DoJ…
Ok for an update on my character I am level 86, my sword is at I think 373 base.. I have upped my Magic D but I am still getting creamed with magic… I will keep working on that… My Item skill is 300 buffed so 7’s are coming a little easier…
Chu-Chu was a big help last night and helped me get some better death items so I would not drop what is now my best sword… She also helped me run mini’s even though she had other things to do ( I think) So a big thanks to the best Patron in DoJ (my opinion)…
I am starting think I might be able to solo Stonefist… this might be ambitious but I think I will give it a try and see what happens…
I will not be on until probably Sunday night and maybe not until late…this is going to put me behind where I want to be on leveling but I have a great deal going on this weekend…(Projects, Chores and Family). I am sure everyone can relate…
I hope everyone has a great weekend.... _________________ S n S Level 172+

“…And now for something completely different”….or not…
I had a pretty light weekend of AC. I was on briefly Saturday and made 87! I just hunted the Fuin dungeon. Sunday I ran a couple of the Blighted Moarsmen XP Quests and did mini’s and made 88…. Thanks again Chu –Chu…
Sunday I also joined in on the Noble Weapons Quest headed up by WS… The quest was easy and we had a big group… I got a rapier that looks cool and does double strike…A special thanks to WS and the others that participated in the quest… Oh yes and the person that provided me the flagging letter (thanks much) We had a few technical issues but it basically went well… I was a little nervous at the end because my buffs were gone but I still was able to complete the quest…
I finished the evening killing a few Fuins but the Noble Quest had taken a long time and by time it was over it was getting late and I was tired… So I did not last long in the Fuins…
I will be on tonight and hope to make 89, I would like to get to 90 but that might be tough as the XP required to level is going up rapidly… I am working on my Melee D at the moment I would like to raise that to 350 base which seems pretty attainable. I think it is at 325 at the moment or maybe a little higher. I will also continue to raise Focus and Self to help with Magic D and put the occasional point directly into Magic D.
Some Thinking Out Loud:
I will soon be have 8 skill credits…and have Item Spec’d this means I could train life, creature or spec Magic D. I am still leaning towards playing on until I get to 10 or 12 skill credits and then decide. I like Item spec’d at the moment because I can cast 7’s with some but not a lot of fizzles…
Current:
Spec’d
Sword
Staff
Melee D
Item
Trained
Arcane
Mana C
Eventually I could see being self sufficient but having to have 3 Foci and dump a lot of points into magics and magic base stats now does not seem smart. I am not sure this helps me considering buff bots and it slows me adding points to my primary skills (Sword, Melee etc….). The following is the very tradional 3 school Melee template...nothing really wrong with it but I think if I am patient I can end up with a better character down the road (maybe).
Possibility 1
Spec’d
Sword
Staff
Melee D
Trained
Arcane
Mana C
Item
Creature
Life
I could also see (waiting on Creature) I kind of like the following template but am not sure if spec’ing Magic D will have a big impact with the higher level critters…(but I expect it might) I am leaning towards this template… although I know there is Spec’d limit/cap I think I am ok with this template. I guess I could speed things up by completing the skill credit quests, which now that I think about it might be a good idea….
Possibility 2
Spec’d
Sword
Staff
Melee D
Magic D (level 100)
Trained
Arcane
Mana C
Item
Life (level 140 I think of course I will have to unspec Item to do this, I cannot remember but I think after 100 it is a skill credit at every 10 levels if I am wrong then 140 might be off)
Creature (eventually)
As always feel free to comment and add your thoughts if you have an opinion… _________________ S n S Level 172+

Surprise of all surprises I made 90 last night…this has no real tangible significance other than I think I can get into a few other dungeons/quests in the game it’s just that I did not think I would make 90 last night…So good for me…Thanks to Chu-Chu and others…
I also solo’d Stone Fist which was a first and he was actually very easy….I am probably getting close to being able to solo Killa but all that magic flying around hurts… I am not even close on Az he really lit me up last night… I was first in and all the Virindi in that place were all over me… Chu-Chu was firing away with her Crossbow but they all stayed keyed on me… I almost died twice…and a special thanks to fellow Clan members that helped me on Mini’s last night… Sorry but I cannot remember their names but thanks much…
My Melee is base 347 now so, if I play tonight I might get it to 350 base and then I need to start thinking about what else to dump points into… I think I will put points into Focus, Self and Mana because they are still relatively cheap and I will be using those base attributes in a few levels when either I spec Magic D (which is the way I am leaning) or train another magic. I will probably only dump a level or two into those skills for now and then I think I am back to strength, coord, quickness, sword and melee… I would like to get my sword skill to 400 for obvious reasons…(very nice swords to be had) It is currently 373 or so, getting it to 400 will be painful to say the least….
I ran the Moarsmen Egg quest at AB last night but my timer was not up…I should be good tonight…Ran into a few guys from DoJ there power leveling. I need to see what the level restriction is on the portal as I might be able to enter that one now...The write up I saw said the you needed to be 120 to solo…we will see... not sure what Blighted Moarsmen are in there but when I go into the dungeon I will pull one up to the drop point just in case to determine their strength and my ability to hit… The issue maybe the guy at the end… I will let everyone know how I fair... If I am on tonight I will run Stone Fist for sure and the other mini’s if I can find someone to go with… Having said that there is a chance I will not be on because of family commitments but I will try (it will be late at least late for me)
I guess that is about it… [Drops microphone and walks off stage] _________________ S n S Level 172+

...This update is more of a rant or hodgepodge of thoughts about last night…in other words I am rambling on like normal….
Hmmmm… I was thinking the portal at the Blighted Moarsmen Tunnels at AB was level 90 but it is actually 95, so I was unable to enter. I did however get my egg and get some easy XP… I decided to try and get the next higher level egg outside of Eastwatch… I figured this would give me a chance to fight the same level of Blighted Moarsmen that would be in the AB Moarsmen Tunnels… Well if you have run around Eastwatch you know there are some pretty high level creatures (relative to my lowly level 90’ish) ….Eaters, Viatomin <sp> and Floesharks etc… Well surprisingly I can kill most of these in a 1 on 1 fight… However they tend to be in groups. I made it almost to the Fort the first time with the intent of fighting some of the Moarsmen but accidently pulled over a level 185 Viatomin…forget his exact type…He started to beat on me, which hurt but I also dragged a high level Wisp as well that was draining and casting… I could not hit the Viatomin at all… guess I need to work on that sword skill a little more… Well eventually I was killed but had moved away from the creatures spawn points… So I rebuffed and went back and got my body… after of course visiting the Fuin to work off the “V”. So this time I made it to the actual target of the trip the Moarsmen Fort. These guys (the Moarsmen) are level 165 so I figured hmmm… I can probably take them if I can pull them one or two at a time and keep them in front of me (keeping my shield between)… So of course I drew more than one to outside the Fort and turned to take a swing and bam one hit….ouch…and I mean I was one hit not the creature…The message read something about oozing… anyway so I had to go back again to get my body…which I was able to recover… I did notice as I bracketed for my bod that there were several other players bods in the fort.. So I guess the lessons are several buff Fire and Acid, and keep working on the Melee D… I had not been one hit in a while….
Ran mini’s with Angelina Bo Bina <sp> we had some help from Pumpkin Kitty, Foil and and I think Lightning Lisa… to help dispatch Az and Killa… I leveled to 91(might be 92 now that I think about it) but will say 91 for now…and returned to the Fuins for a little while but logged as it was pushing midnight…Angelina mentioned hording tokens so (I am assuming she is a she) she could save them to get the max points available for turn in at a higher level. I guess that is not a bad idea and I might do that after level 100 to start socking some of those away that is…they might come in handy when I train something and as a way to get quick xp to spend or maybe to quickly clear “V” if needed…
I did get my melee to 350 base and dumped some points into Focus and Self. I think I will dump a few more point into Focus and Self and then move back to base sword and melee attributes (I know if you have been reading my posts this is a broken record)… I did also dump some points into healing (a suggestion from ChuChu the other night) that actually helped as I was failing on some heals but at the higher level in healing that is happening much less (of course that stands to reason)….
So, I should be on tonight and I hope to get to level 94…I might run the Tusker Guard Kill Task as my timer is up (This would be a change to the Fuins)… I will also possibly run the Cull the Drudge kill tasks if my timer is up on them as well… and since I know I can kill Floesharks I will get flagged for that as I think that pays decent XP and they have really decent loot and at least 4 of the 5 I killed last night were like opening a chest… not uber loot but not bad stuff at all….
Ok… if you have stuck with this rant or rather incoherent blathering thank you… and while I am at it thanks to everyone for being forgiving on my post and in game typing skills…. I definitely need some work on the in game typing….

So let’s recap… I could not remember for sure if I was level 91 or 92 in yesterday's update… Well the answer was level 91. I wanted to get to 94 last night I know the suspense is killing everyone………………………………………………………………..
Well I made it… I would have probably made it without help but was grateful to get some… I ran the Tusker Guard Kill Quest for 20 million XP. This was pretty quick actually but is probably becoming or has become time inefficient… The spawn rate at the BSD’s is a little slow so it takes a couple at least 2 buff cycles to get to 500 tuskers…you can easily add on roughly 1 million xp for Cull the Drudges and killing the Raveners at the bottom… you only have to kill 50 raveners (of course you need to flag in Cragstone)… There are 64 Tusker Guards to be killed in each full spawn…so that means you have to clear the BSD 8 times. I am now 1 hitting the Guards on ½ power swings. Also you will earn 10 million from the kills of the Guards and some extra points if you kill the Slaves (which I do for their tusks…for lowbies)… So in total you can earn roughly 31 million xp…by completing the task… (These numbers might not be exact) I can clear the place pretty quick and have to wait at least (seems like 10 minutes +) for a respawn. I figured out that if you use the BSD alter at the mansion it randomly drops you to various BSD’s so this can speed things up a bit as you can clear a BSD recall to the mansion and use the alter again and hopefully end up at a different BSD to clear (although it is random so you could end up at the same BSD). I think with this knowledge I could get the time down to almost 1 full 2 hour buff cycle but probably it is going to be part of a second buffing. So that let’s say 31 million for 2 hours of play time… (You get some tusks for your mules and lowbies) I think not bad but there is a timer and by time I get ready to do it again I suspect 31 million will seem like nothing…
After I killed the monkeys Chu-Chu and I ran mini’s thanks to Stee Jans who helped as well and another, sorry I did not write their name down… Chu-Chu provided some extra trophies for me that pushed me over the edge to 94 (woot!) so I did not have to stay up too late last night… I think I would have made it regardless because I was committed to hunting Fuins to get there but I was tired so help as always is appreciated….
I also went the Fuins Outpost and got flagged for the Laboratory in the Fuin dungeon and also the Floeshark kill quest and other things as well…I will start working on those this weekend…when/if I get time to play… I am hoping to make 100 by Sunday night but it might be early next week…I noticed there is a 2nd and 3rd part to the Fuin Gaya quest and may do a little research on that as well…My sword is base 377 now and I will work to get it to 400 throughout the weekend.. I figure 2 points max per level which means 11.5 levels (at a minimum) to get there but I think it will probably be a few more than that…
I will not be on Thursday (going to a hockey game) but should be on Friday night...I will try and make 96 Friday night…and Saturday like Friday I do not anticipate being on (if I do get on I will probably kill Stone and spend a few minutes in the Fuin Dungeon) I should however be on Sunday night for the push to 100….I have a really nice sword that has a 100 level requirement… it cast Gossamer Flesh. I am looking forward to using that sword to see if it does anything worthwhile…
Well I guess that is it…”Thank you…Thank you very much” (In an Elvis voice) _________________ S n S Level 172+

Ok…so I did get on for a little while last night (late)… Just about 30-45 minutes. I made level 95. I just ran mini’s and hunted Fiuns for a few minutes… a thanks to Pearl Jade or was it Jade Pearl who helped me with the mini’s he/she was a nice player….Said he/she goes to a Deli called S n S (Glitch in the Matrix)….
Now for a real world hockey update… I went to the Stars vs Blackhawks pre-season game last night… The Stars out played the Blackhawks but lost the game in a shootout 4-3… This was a pretty dang good pre-season game if you like fighting (I do) There was at least 5 fights and numerous hard checks… Given that it was a pre-season game it was very entertaining and at least us losing does not really count… (I picked this game to go to because for some reason even though Chicago is not in our Division we always have really good or interesting games when we play them and that trend continued…)
Stats information…. Sword in now 379 base on my way to 400… It is costing me 40 million + to raise sword 1 point (in other words 571+ Fiuns to equal 1 point of sword and going up a rough gestimate would 15,000 Fuins to get to 400 sword and that might be low...Thank God for XP quests)…so I am not sure exactly when I will get to 400… I was thinking it was 10 not 12 points to spec Magic D I was bummed when I looked that up… I guess it will be 110 before I can spec Magic D… However, I will try and run the skill point quests to speed things up.
Pretty much that is about it, not much activity for me last night….I should be on tonight but cannot run mini’s until 1130pm CST or so…. I will try and get to...let's say level 98 tonight... that is an ambitous goal....

This is the weekend update… Well as expected my playing time was somewhat limited, however with a little help from my friends it was a very productive and rewarding weekend… and now for all the boring details.
Friday I jumped on played for awhile but I was tired and did not get very much done at all... Fellowed in the Fuin’s. Angelina Bo Bina helped me attempt to get flagged for 90+ Fuin’s however since I had already completed that quest I seem to be locked out of that portal at least for now. It must be on a timer or something… I leveled up to 96 but was way short of goal of 98 for the night. I also ran mini’s…(late) I guess it was a long week and I just sort of ran out of gas... I tried killing stuff around Eastwatch too and succeeded in killing myself several times… I was working on some of the Kill Quests there (Floeshark etc…) I will keep plugging away on those just to get the XP when I can but will not make them a priority…I also started to play Hail No my Spec’d UA/Archer, I wanted to see how quickly I could get him to level 20 so he could wear the Lesser Olthio Armor I had collected…It took me about an hour… I ran the blighted Moarsmen quests and primarily killed you guessed it Blighted Moarsmen to level up… I think I will play him as I can, so I can eventually get him flagged for the Col so he can do mini’s or at least pick up tokens…He is a pretty potent little character and he is using the starter cestus… (when I say he ran the Moarsmen quest, he ran the egg portion…) I will soon take him for the Moarsmen letters but I need a better low level UA weapon or I need to raise his skill up enough to use a higher wield weapon….
My plan Saturday was not to play at all but…I was provided an opportunity late on Saturday night to jump on and spent about an hour doing mini’s with Chu-Chu and others and also believe it or not making it all the way to level 100 (sweet). This opened a few weapon and armor doors for me. I am now able to use some different swords and Chu provided access to some really upgraded armor which should help a ton in game…You may be asking yourself how did I go from level 96 to 100… Well I made 97 in the Fuin’s when I first logged on… and I made 98 doing mini’s and I was provided a few extra mini trophies to turn in which pushed me through 99 to 100… (So there is the chronology in case people are thinking I left something out)…
Sunday I had big plans (originally to push to 100) but that was negated by Saturday…I got on later than I planned…and although this is boring I spend good 30-45 minutes just cleaning out my packs (S n S was full of junk and was running a little heavy and my strength is really high, so you get the idea). Now much lighter with some pack space (so I can re-junk) I ran Mini’s and hunted the Fuin’s for awhile… I made 101 but that was all for Sunday.
Couple of open issues…Tonight’s goal is 103 officially with an eye on 104. My sword skill is at 385 now… 15 more point to 400… I did purchase a decent but not the best sword (level 400 Slash Rend sword)… but it was cheap and will be better than my other swords… I will be spending some time at the MP looking for swords in the coming days so I can replace all my swords with 400s I will try and get one of each type of damage… (could get expensive)… When I get to 110 I will Spec Magic D I am hoping that happens by the end of the week…I need to flag Mu Lech (my mage) for Col mini’s as well so he can get some easy XP and keep advancing… I need to do a thorough house cleaning and possibly delete and recreate mules…
I think that pretty much recaps the weekend along with some additional commentry...

Well I had an interesting night last night. I did get some good playing time in and met my goals for the night. I now can see how mini’s stop being that beneficial to the high level characters… We actually ran all 4 which is not the norm but we (Chu-Chu and I) had a big group to go with so, it worked out… that dang matron takes forever to kill…I did pretty good but we had some really high level folks in there and although from time to time I take the kill I was not even close this time… We actually ended up running mini’s twice so Blu Mystic (my actual Patron) and a few others could get their trophies…all except the Matron (That one is way to much work) Now to my point about the benefit of the mini’s. Well I guess the XP reward tops out at some point. It use to be that if I ran mini’s I leveled but now that does not seem to be the case. As you progress in level I am guessing it becomes an ever diminishing return… Do not get me wrong for my level (Now 104) it is still well worth the effort… It would take me much longer to get that much XP through other means but I can certainly see that at some point it will not be as impactful and now I understand why Chu-Chu will frequently pass me a trophy to turn in… As I have mentioned in previous posts I need to flag a few of my other characters, so I can skim some extra trophies… I will discuss with Chu in game and see if I can get a Col Flagging run going in the next 7-10 days… (I will need that much time to get my guys ready)…
I also played Hail No my UA/Archer (He is really just UA at the moment, the archer part is for higher levels) and he is a little Bad A$$. I am hunting him in the low level Blighted Moarsmen Tunnels with an eye on something harder (if someone has a suggestion please feel free to share)…I ran the letter portion of that quest with zero problems last night and cleared the tunnels several times… it is good XP for his level and I am surprised how well he is doing…(I guess practice in there has made me much better) Interestingly although his melee and UA skills are relatively high for his level. He takes "like" (I lived in Cali for 3 months as a teenager) no damage in there…(maybe the Lesser Olthoi is better than I thought) He also took down Ves with no problem and hit on just about every swing… I remember back in the day much talk about how UA had some special treatment by Turbine but regardless I am very happy with how he is doing… I got him to level 25 and will try to have to 30+ by the end of the week. I am thinking that possibly the BSD might be a good place if I can hit the Guards I could complete the Tusker Guard Kill Quest for 20 mil XP…I need to check and see what the level restriction is for the BSD’s I am pretty sure right now my guy would be Monkey fodder and/or scat but in a few levels not so much…
As I mentioned above I got S n S to Level 104 and his sword skill is now at 388... I can see hitting 110 by the weekend but 400 sword might be a challenge as it seems like slightly more than a point per level so that puts me around 395/96 by Sunday. Maybe I will have some good fortune…and get some unexpected XP… Once I hit 110 I plan to put a ton of points into Magic D after I spec it…I am hopeful this will help with the magic but who knows… So my immediate goals for S n S are Level 110, 400 sword, Spec Magic D (and raise it). After that I will work on Melee and may turn my attention to my Staff skill…oh and of course health and stamina as well…
Ok, now for an apology of sorts… I ran into Deadeye Minion in the Fuins and I was kind of playing my own game in there. I wanted to see how much XP I could earn in one buff cycle… so I was running around like a man possessed… I did not steal kills per say but I was clearing it out pretty quick and I think I might have been stepping on toes a little…I spoke with Deadeye and told him what I was doing and that possibly we could fellow down the road… So hopefully that is ok… I had previously fellowed in the Fuins with Deadeye so, I will try and make that right in the near future. In case you are wondering 46 million XP in a little less than 90 minutes…but that is non-stop running around killing stuff which gets really boring as you all know..The plus side to all that killing and running around is that I am getting pretty familiar with that maze…
Since I have not mentioned it in awhile I still want the Greater Olthoi Armor I will start talking to some folks in game perhaps Angelina Bo Bina and a few others that might have an interest…it will not be better than the armor I have now but for hollows or on certain quests it might come in handy… I may try and solo the Good Olthoi Armor Quest again (hopefully I will not get lost again…) So I can have that ready for Hail No….not sure what the level restriction is on that armor thinking 35 or so…
And that does it for another exciting S n S update… _________________ S n S Level 172+
