Jesseret then remembered to ask the two of them something very important. "Um, Gawyn, Kaiari...someone did remember to show the both of you to your quarters, didn't they? If not, I'll be glad to see to that little detail." He hoped they had, otherwise Tarika would once again accuse him of having a bad memory.
Jesseret waved to the Wingleader when he entered. "M'ren, good to see you!" He waved the two searchlings over. "Gawyn, Kaiari, this is Wingleader M'ren! If you're lucky enough to join with your dragons this time around, you'll find yourself working for him!"
"I was just going to spend a bit of time showing them around Ismene," he went on. "Asralyn seems to think there might be something worth seeing out on the green, though he was a bit vague as to what it was." He opened the door that led onto the green and peered out...just in time to have his dragon buzz right over him.
<Hah, scared you didn't I?" Asralyn crowed.
"Gah!" Jesseret cried, jumping backward. He scowled, and glared outside at his dragon. Then sighed and turned around to the others. "Well," he said to Gawyn and Kaiari, "I guess we do have a dragon for you to study...and I know this one won't mind being looked at, because he goes out of his way to get attention. Won't swear he's the best specimen to look at, but..." He just hoped that Tarika and M'ren didn't give him too hard a time over this. |

Tarika gave a nod at Jesseret's suggestion of showing their newest candidates around. Also implying that she'd join them as well...since she wasn't quite ready to head back to her office yet....that would only mean she'd have to resume her work.
She raised an eyebrow to Jesseret when he stated that Asralyn had something on the Green to show them...she too seemed a bit curious, as she knew herself how the black dragon had a tendency to not be able to take things seriously and needed to be coaxed into the more seriousness of his duties.
As the other began standing, she did as well, carrying her tray back to the kitchen quickly. As she returned to the others, who were ready to head for the door, she noticed her WingLeader walk in, seemingly to be deep in thought.
Jesseret was already calling the two candidates forward to introduce them, as Tarika held back for a moment. Then she stepped forward, "M'ren...I trust all is well?" she asked as she stood in front of him.
They were already at the door, as she was talking to M'ren, when Jesseret opened the door to step outside and let out a startled cry.
Tarika turned her head, just as her Head Searcher jumped back.
He then turned to the two candidates and told them that they'd have a dragon to study after all. "Not the best specimen with personality and character in my opinion, but seeing as Jalaran's busy with the eggs...and he's the only choice we have, then I guess he'd do fine!" she said in a humorous tone, as she stepped to the door, then looked back at M'ren with a smile.
"Of course you are welcome to join us M'ren." she said as she looked at Jesseret when he asked if any had showed the candidates to their quarters, then looked at the two candidates.

Kaiari followed the others over to the door, just as another man had walked in. This man seemed to be lost in thought, and not paying attention to where he was going.
Jesseret called for her and Gawyn and she quickened her step, as she felt this man seemed to be someone important. She gave a slight nod to the man as Jesseret introduced them. "Nice to meet you sir..." she said as she then heard Jesseret's question.
She looked at the Head Searcher as she spoke to him, seeing his glance toward the Warren Lady, then seeing her looking at him with a raised eyebrow.
Kaiari got the feeling that he worried what the Warren Lady would say if she found out that he hadn't shown them yet. "Actually, you did point them out to me, but you had to leave in such a hurry that you were unable to actually show them to me. I think you said something about seeing to another potential candidate? But you did say that you'd see to it as soon as you came back." she said hoping her words helped him in a way.

Gawyn caught the curious look Kaiari threw at him. He wondered briefly whether she was curious about him or the teasing between the WarrenLady and the Head Searcher.
"Uh...no. This is the first place I've been, and you are the first people I've talked to since arriving, but it's fine, really. I have a blast exploring, and getting lost," he replied to Jesseret.
The young man followed Lady Tarika's lead, and deposited his tray in the kitchen.
He watched as a man he hadn't met walked in. He seemed to have the air of importance. "It's an honor to meet you, Sir," the young man said, holding out his hand to the WingLeader.
Gawyn grinned as Jesseret jumped back in surprise. He chuckled at Jesseret's comment and Lady Tarika's banter. His first exposure to dragons was turning out to be a good one.

M'ren studied the two candidates, as though messuring them as he would two fine swords. Looking them over for weakness and strength. They would need to be molded into fighters yet, but there was time, or was there he thought. A large litter often fortold a great amount of deaths.
He grunted slightly then at the looks from the Warrenlady and the Searcher, he said. "You'll do, I hope. Any of you play...." but he was interrupted by the searchers yelp.
A frawn crossed his face at the antics before him. I'll not keep you all, but if you want to see a real dragons come to the green in the morning when we do some practice. |

Jesseret put his hand on his hips and glared at Asralyn. *Well, you might as well do something useful and land," he said, then turned back to the others. "Gawyn, Kaiari, come on over here," he said, motioning them to follow him. "You've met my dragon Asralyn, of course, but on the assumption that you'll soon have your own dragons, it's never too soon to begin learning about them."
He ran over around a corner of the building and came back a moment later, holding a saddle and dragging a trail of leather dragon-tack behind him. "A dragon saddle is...no bigger than a horse's saddle," he panted. "It's the...*rest* of it that's bigger and heavier." He finished dragging it over to where the dragon was waiting. He dropped it on the ground and used the back of his hand to wipe sweat off his brow. "And, of course, you can pretty much never get the dragon to help you handle it - they think that it's a rider's responsibility until it gets attached to the dragon's neck.
He grinned. "Gawyn, do you want to have the first try at saddling Asralyn? I'll direct you - and when you're done, we can test it out by taking him up for a spin over the warren!" He grinned, knowing that this little exercise often ended up having its own unexpected type of excitement before all was said and done |

Tarika stood back with M'ren and watched as the two young candidates went forward onto the Green with Jesseret. She turned to her Wingleader, as Jesseret spoke to Kaiari and Gawyn.
"Is something troubling you M'ren?" she asked softly, as she set her soft brown eyes on his icy blue ones. The WarrenLady rarely missed much, and she had noticed when M'ren first joined them at the Dining Hall, he seemed to be deep in thought, and hadn't paid much attention to where he was going or where he ended up at.

Turning back around M'ren wanted to brush Tarika off but had known her to long to think that would really work. "T'ka, there hasn't been a wraith attack in a month not even a hint of them. I'm sure there is much to be excited in that event, but it lets the riders relax and get sloppy. So when there is a real attack someone will get hurt that otherwise would not have."
M'ren started pacing, "I know on the surface this sounds great but now we have had a large clutch of eggs. If you follow your history," M'ren knew very well that Tarika was very aware of the warren history. "Every time we have had a large clutch some mishappen normally occured causing many deaths."
He sighed and took in a deep breath but didn't stop his pacing.
"These kids mean a lot ot me, and I'll be damned if I'll lose a one ot any carelessness on my part." |

Tarika watched M'ren closely, it didn't take brains to know that something had been bothering the man, Tarika could see it when she looked at him. His words only confirmed, what she had been seeing.
She had known the man for too long, not to have seen it or hear it in his tone. "I understand your concern M'ren...it concerns me as wel. You are right, I'm afraid...the history showed that something always happened at joyous times like this, with the clutch being on the sands." she said as she turned to watch as Jesseret had retrieved the dragon saddle for Asralyn and was now giving the searchlings a lesson in saddling a dragon.
She turned back to him, as he had began pacing again. She stopped him with a soft hand on his arm, her soft brown eyes searching his icy blue ones, again, as he spoke of the kids meaning alot to him. "As they do me! But you should know that already!" she replied. She could see the concern in his eyes, and gave him a warm smile.
"Don't worry...the main reason you were chosen as my Wingleader, was because of your skills in the air and on the ground training. Those kids are in good hands, I trust your judgement as well as your trainings." she said with a soft smile.

Lucio had gotten up early that morning to get ready since today would be the first of many lessons for him. He wore a simile loose cream shirt that had had the sleeves cut off, on his left arm, shoulder and arm was a bandage like wrapping. His Pants wear simple, loose and darker tan then normally worn by a nomad like Lucio was. His hair had been slicked back and then held in place with a string.
He’s black booted feet carried him to the Dining hall as he worried about how the others around the area would judge him. Would they be as harsh as the kids back in his old tribe had been or would they be different? As he neared he stopped to find a few people in the doorway. A heavy sigh escaped his lungs as he looked down at his feet. ‘Well here goes nothing, old boy.’ He thought and then looked up his jaw squarely set and his shoulders back. He was the picture of confidence even if inside he was as scared as a rabbit facing a hungry predator like a fox or a starving wolf.
Bowing to those present he let his eyes not make direct contact out of respect for his elders. “Lucio Arroyo reporting for classes.”

Jesseret looked behind him at hearing a familiar voice. "Lucio! Over here!" he said, waving the candidate over. "I don't know who's met whom here, but everyone, this is Lucio, another of our new candidates! He gestured to the other trainees. "This is Gawyn, and Kaiari. This is Wingleader M'ren."
<You forgot me!> Asralyn grumbled.
*No, I did NOT forget you...he's already met you, remember? And probably wishes he didn't, you thought he was carrying beef jerky in his pocket when we found him, and you proceeded to...*
<All right, all right, no need to bring up ancient history,> the dragon grumbled still louder.
Jesseret ignored the dragon's grumbling. "And this, of course, is Warrenlady Tarika!" |

Lucio looked up as a familiar voice spoke to out to him. Smiling at the man that had approached him one day when he had been out in the fields, Lucio waved to him. Hearing Jesseret’s comments to his dragon Lucio sighed though he smirked.
“It’s ok about the event I’m use to creatures thinking I have food in my pockets even if sometimes I don’t have pockets. I’m just glad he didn’t stick his muzzle where a donkey did one day.”
Smiling at Asralyn, Lucio bowed his head to the mighty beast and then looked at the others. Bowing to them all he did take the girls hands and gave them a kiss. “Your majesty, pleasure to meet you.”

Kaiari had been half listening to the two behind her as Jesseret explained the dragon saddle...when suddenly the man called out to someone behind them. She turned to see a young man, she hadn't met yet.
As Jesseret called him, calling him over to them. Kaiari gave a nod to him as Jesseret introduced her and Gawyn...she even gave a smile to the young man.
When the young man took her hand without warning, bowing over it and kissing it, her hand and body stiffened...as she knew very well he could feal the heat from her skin. Anyone standing close to her, could feel the heat.
"Nice to meet you as well!" she said as her hand slipped from his...her tone held a bit of surprise, mixed with a bit of fear because of her skin temperature and what he would think of it.

As Tarika talked to M'ren, she barely noticed what Jesseret was telling the young candidates, until she heard him call out. She turned her head, to see a young man.
'Who is this now?' she thought.
{Who is who?} Jalaran asked her.
'Just someone Jesseret...never mind!' she said as Jesseret began the introductions. 'Another candidate?' she thought to herself. This one hadn't been on the list...she would have remembered the name.
{It's about time Jesseret started doing his job, instead of sneaking in here.} Jalaran said. 'Jalaran, he's doing the best he can.' she replied back.
She watched as Kaiari's body seemed to stiffen as the man took her hand...she knew of the girl's ability and knew she didn't like have her skin touched by another...hopefully that will change as time goes on.
She then felt her own hand being taken, kissed as the young man spoke to her. She gave a small laugh, "No need to call me that, Lady Tarika will do. It's a pleasure to meet you as well!" she said with a smile.

Lucio smiled at Kaiari since she was the first to speak to him. His eyes seemed to focus on hers with a strange strength, and he slowly gave her a smile. He had felt the warmth in her skin and honestly hadn’t thought anything of it.
To him he was more focused on her looks then the warmth of her body, though as a young man he couldn’t help but remember the warmth and wonder what it would feel like to feel more of it at a closer position.
Mentally shaking his head, Lucio just nodded and smiled as he turned to the Warrenlady who to the young man was as high of a standing as a Queen of a nation. He hoped she wouldn’t object to his trying to be a gentleman. When she told him that he could call her Lady Tarika he bowed his head again.
“As you wish, Lady Tarika. Forgive me for being late I had..” he paused. His right hand went to his left arm out of habit as wondered how the others would take his arm being wrapped.
“Something to take care of. Please forgive me Sir Jesseret.” He turned to look at the Searcher.

Kaiari watched then young man, as his eyes seemed to be held with her own. When he smiled, she started to wonder what he was thinking...she knew he could feel the heat, yet said nothing of it.
She glanced at Gawyn as the young man turned his attention on the WarrenLady. Wondering what he made of all this, but gave a small smile to him...not sure what else to say.

Gawyn met M'ren's eyes as the man looked him over as if appraising a a slab of prime rib. The young man vaguely wondered what conclusion the man had come to.
"Play what, Sir?" he asked when the last part was cut off by the Wingleader's yelp.
"Really? We can watch you practice?" the young man inquired with a boyish grin.
The young man walked over th Jesseret when the Head Searcher called them over. His eyes went wide as the man started explaining the dragon saddle to them, and even wider when he suggested that Gawyn have a shot at putting it on Asralyn.
"Me, Sir?" the boy asked incredulous. "Alright," he said as he walked cautiously over, and picked up the saddle. He was no stranger to saddling a horse, but the dragon saddle seemed a bit more complicated. He lost himself in his concentration, and didn't notice at first that another young man had joined them.
He paused in his attempt with the saddle only after he registered Jesseret introducing him and the rest of the party. He stood there silent for the time being, while the others went through the whole introduction process.
He noticed that Kaiari seemed to stiffen when the newcomer kissed her hand, and vaguely wondered what that was all about. He caught the glance the young lady threw his way, and finally moving away from Asralyn, heading towards the other guy, Lucio, he thought the name was, he held out his hand and said, "Hello, I'm Gawyn," though that was completely unnessasary because Jesseret had already introduced him.
He was rather curious as to why Lucio's arm was wrapped, but didn't think he had any business asking, so he kept his mouth shut.

Lucio Turned to Gawyn and took his hand. Shaking it firmly his eyes darted toward Kaiari again but was quick to turn back to Gawyn. “Nice to meet you Gawyn, Guess we’ll be seeing a lot of each other since we most likely share barracks.”
Looking around He looked at the dragon and the saddled. “So um what have I missed?” He was hoping someone preferably Kai would explain to him. He moved to stand by her so that the class might continue where it had been when he had come in.

Day 1
Late morning
Kaiari turned back to Lucio as he spoke, asking what he had missed...Kaiari started to speak, just as he moved to stand next to her. She stiffened slightly, as he seemed to stand so close to her. She took a slow breath, barely noticeable, by any others, then preceded to tell him.
"Jesseret was just about to show us how to saddle a dragon. So no you haven't missed much...." she stated as she looked toward Jesseret for him to continue onward.
She knew that her heated atmosphere could be felt by this young man, just as Gawyn had felt it inside the Dining Hall, but she tried to ignore that thought, and give Jesseret her full attention, as she would need to learn what he was about to teach them, if she was ever to become a rider.

Jesseret was practiced enough with saddles to see that Gawyn had done a pretty good job of attaching and securing it. There were a couple of small things that an experienced dragonrider would have done a bit differently, which weren't written in the How-To manuals. What he had done would definitely work, though. He told Asralyn to lie flat on the ground to make the saddle more accessible.
"Okay, now that you've attached it, want to give it a try?" he asked Gawyn. "Asralyn won't actually take off, but he's pretty adept at making it *feel* like he's actually flying while he's on the ground. That'll give you a feel for what it's like to actually sit in the rider's saddle. I'll call out some tips and pointers for you." He turned to Kaiari and Lucio. "You two will take your turns next - and as each of you is having your turn, the other two will observe and can give post-flight critiques...if you have any."

"It's nice to meet you, too, Lucio," Gawyn returned, and then added, "Yes, I suppose we probably will, won't we?"
He watched as the other searchling moved around to Kaiari's side, and noticed that the girl seemed to tense, yet again. He came to the conclusion that either she didn't care for guys, which didn't seem to be like her, or she just didn't like being touched.
Upon hearing Jesseret's invitation, the young man's mouth hung open for a moment before he remembered his manners, and shut it. He opened it again to say something, but he couldn't form the words, so he closed it again, and repeated this several times with the result of only getting out a couple of incoherent sounds before he finally decided to keep it shut.
Settling for a nod, the searchling made his way over to the Head Searcher, gave another small nod to indicate he was ready, and waited for further instruction.

Late Morning
Kaiari watched as Gawyn spoke to the young man, now beside her, then turned shortly after as Jesseret had asked Gawyn to be the first to try it out, and telling her and Lucio that they'd be next.
She was aware of the close proximity of the young man, but tried her best not to think on it, as she listened for Jesseret's next instructions. She's need to know this as well, so her attention was on them, even though her awareness was with how close that young man was to her.

Jesseret smiled and gave Gawyn an encouraging pat on the back. "It's easy...well, not *easy* easy, but nothing you can't handle! See the stirrup hanging down from the edge of the saddle? Just put your foot up there and haul yourself up."
He turned momentarily back to Kaiari and Lucio. "Getting the 'feel' of being on dragonback by oneself is important. Observe how Gawyn handles it, but remember you'll be doing this yourselves."
He turned back to Gawyn. "Ready?" he asked. At the same time, he sent a mental message to Asralyn. *And go easy on him, he's new at this!* he reminded Asralyn. *No jumping in the lake with him the way you did to that trainee last year!*

Lucio watched Gawyn work his way up to the dragon and the Searcher. Standing with his legs apart and his hands held behind his back in a rather military at ease stance. His hair that wasn’t pulled back in a tight form seemed to dance with the slight wind that seemed to be out that afternoon. He could feel the heat from Kai but he said nothing for he rather liked the warmth, it was a nice change from the cold nights of his old home.
“How do you think you’ll do?” he asked her as he focused on the events that played out before him. He was able to talk and yet remember important things from anything being said by a teacher or that was being played out in front of him.

Late Morning
Kaiaria was focused on the Head Searcher and Gawyn now...that is until she heard Lucio's voice and his words to her.
She turned her eyes upon him for a moment, considering the question. "Not sure....I worry thought that i'll mess it up...somehow!" she replied in her soft voice as she turned back to watch Jesseret and the now mounting Gawyn.
She did her best to try to keep her thoughts off of the heat radiating from her body as she watched Gawyn up on the dragon.

Day 1 late Morning
The forests underneath Demetar quickly vanished. The once treeful plain was now a huge empty plain. This seemed very interesting to Demetar so he urged his dragon, Zed, on. After another 5 minutes of flying Demetar was even more surprised. It was a small city like thing in the middle of nowhere. As usuall though he had to know ignoring the dangerous that might be around when he noticed a few people down there examining another dragon. Zed quickly turned around bt Demetar still urged her to land but this time somewhere she could wait or atleast follow him quietly. As Zed landed on the soft grass Demetar jumped off her and pulled his green cloack around him but didn't cover his face with the hood.
<I'll wait here>
Demetar nodded to his dragon and walked to the place where he saw the other dragon and the people. By the time he got to a point where he could see the people again he noticed the dragon was gone. Without thinking twice and still knowing this was tupid he walked forward. 10 feet away though he stoped and waited. Maybe no one will notice him....

Both Scimitars are also a centimetar wider then normal scimitars.

Late Morning
As Tarika spoke with M'ren, still standing near the door to the Dining Hall, she looked out over the green to noticed a dragon landing, and then a young man walking closer to Asralyn...she watched him, as he came nearer, then raised her hand and waved him over to them.
She looked at M'ren for a moment, wondering who this person was...and with a full grown dragon as well. "M'ren? Do you know who that is?" she asked as she turned her head back to the man approaching them, and then seemingly stopping when he was about ten feet away from them.

Day 1 late Morning
Demetar had no idea why the woman was looking at him..He looked back but all he saw was Zed. He wandered if Zed was why she was looking at him.He alked 5 feet forward and looked a bit around and noticed another person beside her. They were both looking preety important by the way they dressed but that was all he knew. he decided to show the sign of respect to them in the ranger's language. He quickly unsethed his right hand scimitar and fliped it over his head catching in the back with the same hand and then tossing it again over him and caught it again all in one motion and seathed it back. For a ranger it was not the hardest thing to do but he didn't know what they would think of it. He looked back at Zed and recieved a mental image of him putting out his hand to the two and then he also heard from her

He turned back around and looked at the two put his hand out and said
"Hi, the name is Demetar, who would you be?"
After Demetar said that Zed quickly got up and took a small glide landing gently behind demetar. Demetar took a step back and put his hand on Zed's musceled kneck. Demetar and Zed both noticed though that the two they just met knew what a dragon was but Demetar said nothing and Zed didn't encourage him to say something for her.Demetars other hand was still wating for a shake and his reflexs were also tightened and ready if anything was going to happen.

The wingleader watched the new comer carefully, using simple hand gestured he asked the patrol to back off for they were ready to challenge the rider and the dragon. Why they hadn't done so in the air before the man had landed would be cause for disciplinary actions later. At Tarika's quistion he answered. “I'm not sure, were you expecting someone from a different warren?”
As the man came forward and made his gesture of greeting, “Good day to you master ranger, I am M'ren Wingleader of Alpha squad, this is warrenlady Tarika, What warren do you come from and what purpose brings you to Ismene.” M'ren knew rangers who use to work with his father the general, though they tended to be loners most were excellent fighters.
M'ren watched the man with ready to defend if need be, the younger man was sure of himself he could tell by his walk and stance. Something about the younger man told him that it was unlikely he was warren born and trained and if he was a wild rider then there was a matter of concern, hopefully if that was the case he might be persuaded to stay and work with Ismene.

Master ranger. Demetar hasn't been called that in over 4 years since he left the mountains.

He stared at the man who has just spoke to him. He quickly thought over the man's word. Demetar put his hands down and instead put them on both his scimitars' belt. he studied the man and now he was sure some importance was held to him.
"i mean no harm" was the first thig Demetar said knowing that the two people thought he might attack. "but you said something about a warren...what is that?"
Demetar let the question hang and waited for an answer.
*Why does everyone think i'm gonna kill them? That is exactly how does 4 barbarians were killed...they thought I ment harm and when they attacked.....*
