Day 2 Early morning.
Lucio had gotten up headed to the dining hall for breakfast and then headed out to the lake for a bit more of practice with his quarter staff and a sword he had bought from a weapon smith. His hair was pulled back and he wore a white shirt that had had its sleeves cut off, a pair of brown cloth leggings (pants). On his feet was a pair of leather boots that allowed his feet to move as if he were barefoot and not wearing shoes.
Carrying the sword at his right hip and using the quarter staff as a walking stick, Lucio walked from the dining hall across the green and on until he reached the edge of the Lake. Placing his sword on the ground, leaning it against a fallen log, he squatted down still holding on to the quarter staff. Lowering his head he prayed to the gods of his people and then stayed there for a few minutes to relax his body and senses.
Once he felt relaxed and open to his surrounded, Lucio stood and slammed the quarter staff into the ground and began to stretch so he wouldn’t be to sore after his work out. Once he was warmed up he grabbed the staff and pulled it up out of the ground. Now began the real exercise which would cause him to work up a sweat that would soon coat his body in a fine layer.

Day 2
Early Morning
Kaiari sat in the far back of the Dining Hall, finishing up her morning meal. She knew she was supposed to have chores in the early afternoon and wanted to have some relaxing free tim before that.
As she sat eating, she spotted Lucio walk in, get his food and sit with his back towar her at a table more closer to the door.
She spotted his Quarter staff, and his sword, and then wondered why he had such weapons, seeing as there was no danger or threat to the Warren.
She watched as he quickly ate then left. Kaiari's curiosity was slighty peaked and got the best of her., and went to follow across the Green. Whith out the young man knowing, she crept silently up and stood just behind the tree, watching him practice.
As she watched, she had soon found that she was no longer hidden by the tree, and his next turn around brought him around to face her. Now she knew she had been spotted by him and couldn't get away, had she wanted to. Ër...sorry!!" she said, as she turned to look away.

Lucio was getting hot and heavy as he continued to work out with the quarter staff. He was lost as he went over his moves he had developed himself over time. But he wasn’t expecting to be watched by the eyes of a rather beautiful person.
Turning as he spin the staff around his back he spun around and extended the staff toward the nearest tree. It was then he noticed he had an audience. Smiling as he placed the staff behind his neck and then hooked both hands over it so that his hands daggled down over the wood rod.
“Hello. Didn’t realize I had an audience. And don’t worry it’s ok I’m use to people staring at me. So why you up this early?” he asked as he stood there letting his body cool down a bit. His breathing caused his muscular chest and six pack to move with each inhale and exhale he took.

Early Morning
Kaiari stood there quietly watching the scene before her. 'He's impressive with that staff!' she thought to herself, as she watched him going through the moves.
As she watched, it seemed she had drifted off into her own thoughts, and hadn't realized that he had turned, stopped and was now talking to her.
As she heard his voice, she came out of her thoughts and stared at him a moment before responding. "Oh sorry!" she replied as she took a step back a bit, but stopped as he continued to talk.
"I am always up this early. Living on a farm most of your life...you tend to be up before the sun! What about you?" she replied with a smile, but kept a fair distance from him.
Her eyes lingered over his bare chest a moment, watching as he inhaled and exhaled, then returned to his face...even giving a smile.

Early morning
Lucio smiled as he listen to her, to him her voice was rather sweet on his ears and he loved it. When she asked why he was up this early he just smiled a little more until the smile was present in his dark brown eyes.
“I usually get up this early to train and to work out. That and back in my village I would take the herds out for my adoptive father and a few of the older members of the clan.” He watched as she scanned over his chest and this made him smirk and move closer to her.
“Would you like to touch it?” He paused as he was as close as he could without making her uncomfortable. “The staff I mean. I can show you how to use it if you like.”

Day 2
Early Morning
Kaiari gave another smile as he spoke. Her eyes lingered down to his bare chest once more, as he asked a question...causing her eyes to flick back to his face.
When he paused, her eyes widened a bit as he moved closer, then added to his question, which made her eyes move to the staff, looking at it warily for a moment, unsure of it. Unsure of being so close to someone to learn such thing.
"I...I'm not sure..." she started to say...but stopped herself. She knew that she need to get through this slight problem she had with being so close to others...and others touching her...and realized this was as good as ay time to start.
She then gave a nod, "O...Okay I can try it!" she replied with a wary smile.

That was what he was hoping for. Moving over to her he took her hand. “Well first we need to move away from the trees.” Leading her into the clearing closer to the Lake itself he loved how warm her hand felt within his.
Once out away from the trees, Lucio moved around behind Kai and positioned the Quarter staff in front of her. Placing his hands on the wood he leaned close to her ear and whispered, rather enjoying the closeness. “Ok place your hands where mine are. We’ll do some simple twists and turns. A few steps forward and back and then some lunges.”
He then lead her through the steps remind her to exhale when she lunged or took a step forward. He was having more fun now and was starting to drift in thought to where her warm body was almost pressed against the front of his own.

Day 1
Early Morning
As the man came closer and took her hand, she stiffened a bit, but did her best to will herself to relax and not think about what he though about how warm her skin felt.
He led her over into the clearing, away from the trees, then stood behind her, placing the staff in front of her, instructing her where to put her hands. She listened intently, doing her best to keep her mind off of those other thoughts about how or what he thought of the warmth of her skin or the space around her.
He led her through various steps, and she soon forgot about how close she actually was to him. Her moves int these steps had been a bit jerky at first, but then became more fluid as her body moved through the steps he showed her.
She was even beginning to enjoy the excercise, as well as his company and teachings.

Lucio was loving his time with Kai, and the exercises that normally were fairly boring where more fun now. Maybe he could get her to join him every morning. He was surprised how well she adjusted from jerky to rather skilled.
“Very good, very good.” Moving away from her, Lucio walked over to where another Quarter staff from the night before laid. He slammed his foot down on one end so that it popped up into his hand.
Grinning at her, Lucio walked over holding this new staff. “How about a little sparring? If you win you can get what ever you want from me. If I win, I get either a kiss, a date, or you join me in my after exercise swim. Deal?” he gave her a wink as he got into a good stance for the sparring.

Early Morning
Kaiari continued to listened to his instructions, barely even noticing he had moved away from her, until she spotted movement out of the corner of her eye.
She stopped in mid swing as he approached her with another staff, and spoke. Her eyes widened at his words, "But..." she started to say and then stopped herself...knowing that it would be useless to forestall it.
She gave a nod of agreement, knowing deep down that he'd be the one who would win...'Then what am I to do...kiss a strange man?' she thought to herself, "Deal!" she found herself saying, not truly knowing where she had found the word or even the courage to say it.
She prepared herself, as he did.
When he didn't look like he was going to attack her...she did...swinging the staff fluidly at him.

Grinning Lucio let the first hit strike, and then the next and the next. He wanted her to think she was really going to beat him, but then he planned to turn the tables quickly. He wanted more time with her and heck he wanted a kiss to see if the warmth she gave off was in his mind or if she really did give off a wonderful warmth and just how far it went through her body if it did.
He turned holding his stomach from a blow to the supposedly soft region and then waited for the next attack. When it came he spun around locking the staff with his own bringing him very close to her. Slowly a mischievous and rather telling smirk appeared on his lips as he gave her a wink, just before his left leg went out and snaked under Kai’s. Pulling he leaned forward so that he would end up throwing not only her back but himself. Landing in the soft dew covered grass, pinning Kai behind him he grinned as he moved their staffs so they wouldn’t be digging into their bodies.
“Never let yourself get over confident, Kai. Remember that you haven’t won until your opponent is taken away, limping away or is dead. Even enemies that surrender can surprise you with an attack and then you would be the loser for you would be dead.” He paused as he laid there making sure his weight wasn’t hurting her but would keep her there for a bit. Looking her over his dark brown eyes lingered on her face and on her eyes for a few minutes before he leaned in and stole a kiss, and a rather passionate one at that.

Day 2
Late Morning
Kaiari was starting to feel fairly confident that she'd win this small little practice, as she went through varios steps. She had always been a fairly quick learner...and she was starting to enjoy the time she was having with Lucio.
Getting a bit over confident, and misjudging Lucio's next move...which found her lying beneath him. Her whole body stiffened as he removed the staffs and spoke. Then he leaned in and stole a kiss...which she had rather liked...and since she had made a bargain...she had to keep it.
Her body relaxed a bit, as she gave a small smile up into his face...but then as she thought on how he'd beable to feel the heat that burned through her body...this worried her a bit.
She noticed how close they were to the lake, and smiled up at him mischievously. "So you're saying...never to underestimate your opponent...is that correct?" she asked him...and then without waiting for an answer...she brought her legs up between them...and flipped him over her head and into the lake.
She then scrambled to her feet, staring down into the water, waiting for him to re-surface...that same mischievous smile on her face.

Lucio smiled as she asked him a question. Nodding he went to lean in when he felt her legs between them before he could stop her he was flipped rather skillfully and landed in the lake with a rather shocked scream.
Ther was a large splash and then soont eh surface of the lake was claim and as still as a night after a storm. Lucio had gone down as deep as he could while holding his breath and waited. He could see Kaiari at the edge of the lake and he was going to get her back but first he was going to scar her. He moved to the edge near her and quickly reached up and grabbed her wrist. Pulling the girl into the water with him.
Brekaign the surface of the water he climbed out and stood on the bank with his hands on his hips as he laughed at Kaiari. “Nice flip but you got to close to your prey, darling.” He smiled and then bent down and extended his hand to her though he braced himself for another attack from the golden haired beauty that had not only cuaght his attention and desire but also his lonesome heart.

As Kaiari peered down into the lake, waiting for Lucio to resurface, she began wondering if he would. The surface of the lake had already clamed since his rather large splash. Just as she was about to stand up, taking her eyes from the spot where he had gone in, she felt his hand clasp around her wrist and yank her into the water with a splash.
She quickly resurfaced, flinging back her golden hair, letting water fly from it as she did. She then looked up into his face, her eyes narrowing at him. As he extended his hand to help her out, she hesitated a moment...surveying the bank. She had no choice but to allow him to help her...the water was too deep, as well as the bank too high for her to scramble out herself.
She then reached up, clasping his hand so he could pull her out. Her muscles tensed as their hands connected. "I'll not make that mistake twice!" she replied with a wary smile at the handsome face.

Lucio felt the tensing of Kaiari’s muscles and this made him think back to all the tiems she would move away from him and others. Then there was the time at the Barricks that she had reached out to hima nd gawyn but then pulled back. He wondered if she ahd been hurt by a male or someone that made her fear touching other people. Pulling her out he pulled just hard enough that she would end up against his wet body but she could move away if she wanted. Smiling as he looked into her eyes he felt the urge to kiss her again but didn’t want to go swimming in his clothing again.
“Kaiari, why do you pull away from people that are near you or wish to touch you? Do you not long to be kissed and caressed by a lover? Has someone hurt you so badly that you are afraid to be touched by anyone other then yourself?” His right hand went up to her face and brushed a stand of dark golden hair that hung near her left eye. He ignored the feeling of his soaked wrapping that he knew if he kept going would sooner or later need changing.

As Lucio pulled her out, her body ended close to his, as he looked into her eyes. She started to move away, looking away from his face as she did, until she heard his words. She stopped, turning back to him, as he brushed aside a strand of hair that had gone near her left eye.
"I'm sorry...I don't mean any disrespect! It's not you or anyone else...it's just me!" she said as she looked down at her bare arms. She then turned and sat on the edge of the bank.
"No...no one's hurt me...well actually when others found out they viewed me as different...talked about me behind my back...some even going so far as to saying hurtful words...one had even tried to..." she paused a moment, looking out over the lake.
"...let's just say he tried to harm me until I lashed out and he never came near me again." she added as she finally looked back and up at him.
"Lucio? Have you noticed the heated temperature around me?" she asked, then went on without waiting for him to respond. "Well, that is why...I am able to either make fire, warm something or someone, draw heat from an object, person of animal and my body temperature is always abnormally high...higher than what is normal...which is why you as well as other can feel the heat when close by me. Because of those who have treated me differently, even saying hurtful words, since my ability developed...it has made me wary of being close to anyone or being touched by anyone." she said with a sigh, as she turned to stare out at the water's surface again.

Lucio let Kaiari go but he felt his body ache for doing so. He listened to her and watched her as she spoke to him. He would try to answer but would stop when she continued on with her explaination. Sighing he sat down beside her and placed his hand on hers and then thought about what she said. He couldn’t help himself as he smiled thinking the thoughts of a young man that was well in love with a woman as beauitful as Kaiari was to him.
“Kai, darling.” He turned her head so he could look into her eyes. “You body heat does nothing but want to be near you more. I grew up in a rather warm climate so your heat only makes me feel at home when I’m near you. I … I care rather deeply for you and I know you are uncomfortable because of your past but well I to have something in my past that well makes me careful around those that can cast fire or around fire period.”
He paus3ed knowing what he was about to do was a big step for him, but she had taken a big step so he was going to too. “You know why I wrap my left arm Kai?” he stood up and then turned around so he could sit with his left arm facing her. “Go ahead and unwrap it and you’ll see why.” He looekd at her with trust in his eyes as he waited for her to unwrap it. He knew she would see the scars that the burn from the fire tstarter had done to him and thought they weren’t as bad Lucio thought they were he still felt more comfortable hving the arm wrapped then out in plain sight.

Kaiari continued to stare across the lake as Lucio began to speak. When he sat beside her, placing his hand on hers, instinctively her hand stiffened.
She continued to look at the lake, until he reached up and gently turned her head to look at him...again instictively she stiffened due to the touching of her skin.
As she looked at him, he spoke and she listened as he had to her. As he spoke, something anew stirred within her, as she realized that he may be the first she has met since her problem arose, that actually understood.
As he spoke of his own problem then turned so his leftarm would be close to her...it was then that she looked down at it, noticing the bandage there. Of course she had noticed the bandage a time or two before, but she paid it no mind those times.
When he asked her to remove the bandage, her eyes went to his. Seeing the full trust in his eyes, she looked back at the bandage, then slowly she raised her hands, stopping before touching him.
Looking back up into his eyes, as if her eyes were asking him if he was sure, but still seeing the full trust, she slowly, but gently removed the wet bandage on his arm.
As she did, her eyes widened as she seen the burn scar, though they weren't that bad, she could understand one such as himself wanting to hide them...for some the scars are not really the ones that can be seen that bothers the person...it's the scar on ones inside that bothers them, making them think the scars that can be physically seen, are worse than what they really are.
Looking up into his eyes, with all honesty in her own. "Lucio...they are not really that bad....and even if they were...it would not matter to me!" she said as she touched the scars, with a feather-like touch.
It was the first time she had ever, willingly touched any person, in such a long time. "Who could have been so cruel to have done this to such a sweet, kind and understanding man? Or was this an accident?" she asked, her eyes full of compassion now as she looked back into his eyes.

Lucio’s head dropped in shame as the scars were revealed. His mind already remembering the day he had earned them in a manner of speaking. He then looked back at Kaiari as she looked up into his eyes. Seeing the honesty that danced there made his sigh. For once in his life he was hearing words of kindness when his scars were present. He felt his skin prickle as Kai’s fingers brushed over the sensative skin. He loved it thought it felt weird at the same time.
“No it was no accident though he told the elders it was. He’s name was Taller” He said the name as if it was pronounced Taylor. “He said I was a freak because of the blessing I received from our Goddess of the Flock. He tricked me into following him and his friends to a private area to see if I wanted to join his group of those blessed by the gods. They then began to torment me using their gifts but his was the worse.” Closing his eyes he waited as the memory of the ‘gift’ Taller had given him flowed through his senses and body.
“The rest of the boys held me down while Taller decided to test my link with animals by setting my arm on fire. He said if I was truly linked then I could call some beast to my defence. It was only after two of the boys started to see that I was just going to lay there and take the abuse and not misuse my gift like he was, that they stopped him. I was left in the area. It was only because the two boys spoke to some of the elders that I was found, brought back to a healer that I’m here now. But as you can see I was left with the scars.”

Listening to Lucio, a sadness in her eyes. "I'm sorry you had to go through that! It seems that those of us with these 'gifts' never are truly seen as for the good they can do! And you shouldn't have to hide the scars...wear them with pride...pride that you had survived that to be here now..." she replied, hoping it would help.
"You should never let any weakness stop you from your goals or from being yourself...I suppose! Not sure if you had noticed, but I have a limp caused from an injury I sustained just two years ago. I had been out in South Swynwood Forest and had been attacked by Wraiths. In the attack, I tumbled down a ravine, landing on a large ledge, that jutted out from the side of the ravine. In my fall, a large piece of wood, broken off from some tree at some point, had been lodged painfully in my leg. I had tried to remove it, which had cause the bleeding to worsen...so I left it for the time being. I found my way out of the ravine and very slowly back home. By the time I finally reached my home, the injury had been so severe, that an infection had started." she said as she gave a sigh, then continued on...she hoped that her story would help him to understand that even though he as well as she, had been scarred in some way...there was no reason to hide what proved to others that they had survived.
Continuing, "I soon overcame the infection, and was back on my feet, but the injury I had sustained, had left a nasty scar on my left thigh, leaving me with a slight, sometime barely noticeable, limp. So, your scars are truly not that bad...atleast not in my eyes!" she said as she said the last part in a low voice, a bit of color coming to her cheeks.
She hoped that after the telling of her story, that he would feel comfortable enough...eventually...to go without the bandages and even feel proud that even though he may have a scar, it was a scar of a won battle...he was here and alive...so in her eyes it was a won battle.

Lucio listened and began to realize that maybe she was right. Maybe just maybe he had a right to be proud. He was to be a dragon rider or at least a trainee soon and that was grander then anything Taller had become that was for sure. As Kai told him about her limp he looked at her thigh and wanted to place his hand there but knew now was not the right time so he just looked into her eyes as he spoke.
“You don’t seem to have a limp. But maybe like me with my scars you feel your limp is worse then it actually is?” He leaned toward her and whispered. “Of course it could be I’m just distracted by your beauty and the warmth you give off that I don’t notice it at all.” He gave her a mischievous grin as he gave her a wink.

Kaiari listened, as he spoke. With a small shake of her head, "No, I just don't let my weakness stand in my way of achieving my goals. But yes, some days...it does hurt...but I don't let that stop me from anything." she replied.
As he leaned closer and spoke again, she gave a small smile, feeling her cheeks flush a bit with his compliment. "Yes...that may be...but beauty is only skin deep...and is not what counts...it's what's in the heart that matters!" she replied as she looked into his eyes and seen his winking.

“Then truly you have a beautiful Hart Kaiari.” He didn’t think he didn’t stop to reword what his heart and mind felt instead he let it flow from deep enough of himself out through his lips and hopefully into her heart and soul. Looking at her he realized now why he had grown so protective of her, her kindness, her heart and her beauty had won him even if he had yet to honestly tell her, Lucio knew it to be true.
Leaning close, he scooted closer and placed his left arm on the other side of her knowing that she could easily move or push him back into the lake if she so pleased but he liked being near her. She had a scent he had come to love and well he was definitely into the warmth she put out. Looking her over he couldn’t help but for a brief moment eye her chests that were not clinging to her garment. When he realized he was starting to stare, his ears and cheeks turned red in color and he was sure they were putting out their own heat. “Sorry.” He muttered in embarrassment as he looked away.
“So um is this where I get slapped and you run off? Cause I didn’t mean to stare please forgive me. It’s just well I really like you Kai. I think about you every night and honestly I can’t go to sleep until I listen and hear you sleeping on the other side of the Barracks in your own bed. I often find myself wishing you where laying next to me in my own cot and well I know I should be punished for such thoughts and for the well more naughty thoughts I find myself thinking about here lately.” He was being blunt fully honest and waited for that sting of a slap and for her to run away from him now.

As he spoke, she gave him a smile. "Thank you!' she said politely. She then noticed him moving closer, she flinched slightly, but didn't move.
She suddenly noticed where he was looking...looking down...her cheeks reddened as much as his did. When he apologized, she looked up into his eyes.
Then he went on, pouring out his heart in all honesty. She looked away for a moment, not knowing exactly what to say. She liked him as well, but she had never been close to anyone...it was all so new to her.
"Lucio...I...I like you too!" she said so softly that he'd have to lean even closer to her to hear it. When she turned to look back, he was closer...so close that she could have kissed him. Her face reddened again.

Lucio looked up as he swore he had just heard Kai tell him what he had hoped to one day hear. Leaning in he looked at her with seriousness in his eyes and yet there was a hint of tenderness as well.
Leaning in he gave her a kiss this time hoping she wouldn’t throw him into the lake. He then began to push her back hoping that maybe just maybe he could show her how much he wanted no now he knew he wanted her. But as his hand moved to her waist he stopped and looked at her. Something told him this wasn’t right so he moved away but helping her up as well.
“Sorry that was wrong of me. I should have asked you first.” He said as he felt like slapping himself for being a well a typical male. Pulling his left leg up he braced his left arm on the knee as he looked away. He knew for sure she definitely now had a reason to leave him there.

As he leaned closer, he tried his chance at yet another kiss, pushing her back on the ground as he did.
Before she even had time to respond or react, he stopped himself, pulling her back up and apologizing.
As he looked away, she knew he felt bad for his actions. "Lucio...it's ok...and even though this is not the right time...yet...atleast you stopped and apologized. I am not mad...more like I respect you!" she replied, as she reached out slowly, and lightly placed her hand upon his hand.
She left her hand there for a few moments, before taking it away.
She noticed it was now well passes noonday, and realized that neither of them had had anything to eat since early that morning.
"Would you care to go to the Dining hall with me...I'm rather hungry...and I'm sure you must be as well?" she asked him with a smile.

Looking where Kai’s hand touched his, Lucio smiled and then nodded to the food idea. It was getting late and if they didn’t do their chores they would be in trouble. So standing up he helped Kai up and then gathered his things together.
“Come I’ll take my weapons back to the armory get cleaned up and changed then join you in the dining hall before heading out for my afternoon chores.” Lucio then led them before out of the lake area and back to the dining hall.

Kaiari gave a nod of her head as she watched him stand and then helped her up. "Yes, it seems I need to change as well!" she said as she shot Lucio an accusing glance...but with a warm smile to accompany it.
He led them back to the barracks, and each going into their respected barrack to clean up and change.
Kaiari chose a pair of black, nice fitting leather pants, and a flowing light yellow tunic....which accented her blonde hair.
