Smiling at the dragonets as they accepted their gifts, Aggie was a bit shocked to be kissed by Gawyn. She was sure it was one of those royalty things so she said nothing and did nothing to the boy, but she decided to play with him by giving him a glare and then bent over and gave him a kiss in return.

After finishing her wine, Aggie took Jesseret’s hand as she turned to listen to the song Narwe was singing. Leaning against his side, she laid her head on his shoulder as she hummed the tune of the song. As it ended she clapped for the young lady and then turned to talk to her cousin when something made her turned her head toward the darkness that surrounded flame lit circle inside the Green. She had a bad feeling the fun was about to die, and things were about to go to hell.

The night had come, and with it a new danger. Many who caught a small glance of the creatures were sure it was a rather large wolf. Others swore on their lives it was a giant bat, and yet there were a few that would scream in terror that hell had open it’s gates on the land. No one knew for sure what it was but they knew one thing, no matter what someone described it as, they all agreed on one thing. It was death for those that dared to face it head on, or fell victim to its unsatisfying hunger.

The scent of fresh warm blood was strong and as the hunting pack had circled over the warm currents of the night arm they all agreed that it was coming from one location. A location they had been afraid to approach until now. There were no guards and everyone was gathered in one location. It was too easy but an easy meal was one that was welcome by the pack. Desending to the ground they landed behind the cover of bushed and hedges as their dark golden eyes watched the party that played out before them.

The wind changed in their direction sending them the sweet scent of  the blood they craved, causing the males to salvaited with hunger. Suddenly they all leap out from behind the plants and charged as best they could on their limps towards the crowd that had their backs to them.

A scream shattered the air of the festival just as the Beta Wing Leader was on her way to speak with Dakon about the mission. Turning her eyes grew large as she noticed a creature taking down one of the rockster’s youngest daughter, Lily. It was then as another young girl was taken downt hat the crowd turned to see what was going on. Suddenly the crowd errupted into several different direction as they ran for safety. Aggie turned to “mren and nodded. It was time for defence and the fun was over for now.

Sending out a message to Silver, Aggie bent down and ripped the skirt part of her gown hoping her cousin would understand. Tearing the fabric until the gown was nothing but a short skirt and then ripping that fabric so it was nothing but two flaps covering her thighs with slits at her legs. She did this so she would be able to fight better. “BATTLE STATIONS! FIGHT OR DIE!” she yelled out as Jason brought her her swords, aher twin daggers and her crossbow that had once belonged to her father.

She told him to get the non-military persons out of harms way while those enlisted so to speak fought for the life of the Warren. Slamming her swords into the ground she strung her cross bow on to her back, placed the quiver of bolts on her right hip, then strapped the daggers on each thigh. Grabbing the swords she began to spin them for a bit as she yelled at one fo the creatures that was trying to feed on Lily.

Catching it’s attention, the foul beast snarled at her and then did it’s best to run towards it’s attacker. Agvnige screamed as she charged towards the Night Stalker. These creatures had dared to interrupt her night which had had the hope of a night in heaven. This attack was personal and she would kille very last one of them if their deaths meant not only that the Warren would be safe but also because it would mean that she would finally get her time alone with Jesseret and that was what she wanted most of all.

N'rwe had just finished her singing, and was returning to Dakon's side when the crowd began screaming, all running in a frenzy to get away from something.

She was unable to see from her vantage point, of what they all ran from, but something told her it was dangerous, whatever it was. She mentally called for Keiran, as she sent a boy off for her bow and quiver, while she took the skirt of her dress and tied it in a way that would allow her to still move without being tripped up by it.

The boy returned quickly, and she took the weapon from him, strapped the quiver on her back, and strung her bow. She then told the boy to head of to the safety of the barracks.

As he headed off, she turned to Dakon as she spotted the Beta Wingleader, Aggie not far off. With her eyes, she followed the line of Aggie's eyes...and that was when she saw the creatures.

Human form, covered in hair, with a wolf-like head and wings like that of a bat. Her eyes widened as she nocked an arrow.

One of the creatures was heading right toward her, and she loosed her arrow, but the creature suddenly glided upward a bit on a sudden breeze...causing the arrow to miss it all together.

Looking briefly at Dakon, with widened eyes. It was the first in a long time that her target had been missed.

"What do we do Dakon?" she asked as the creature landed once more.

Something was terribly wrong it had been for hours now, and M’ren couldn’t place it.  This bothered the Alpha leader greatly. All units had reported there was no sign of wraiths so what else could have caused that damn tickling in the back of his mind.  Was it his feelings coming to the surface with T’ka?  He enjoyed N’rwe’s song but had a hard time listening and he kept fidgeting. Suddenly the feeling was over powering and he turned to look off into the dark only minutes before the curdling scream ripped the night.

M’ren rose up like a lion his sword in his hand so quickly the sound of its drawing was more an after effect. His eyes meet the Beta leaders over the crowd as people began screaming the eye contact was enough.  The two had worked closely before to know what was needed.

He gave T’ka a reassuring smile and pulled her just behind him away from the screams so that he could protect her.  Then horn to his lips he put the warren on full alert calling all dragon riders back to the warren. The mental relay of dragon to dragon would take a few minutes to reach the farthest point, but soon the night sky will be fool of dragons.

With a quick glance around he started calling out orders, sending out several riders by name,  “F’ar, and G’len get the line of people in side.  B’lar and K’lien round up some others and head the creatures off there and there so we can funnel them and fight to our advantage.”

“T’ka love stay behind me.” He needed to get her to safety but at the moment a fear unlike he ever had before was that of not knowing she was completely safe beyond his sight.

Spying the new dragon riders, and a since of foreboding.  “Gawyn, Lucio and the rest of you Dragnets head off the Hatchling I have a bad feeling.”  What ever the dark creatures where he knew in that second sight of his that a young dragon newly hatched would be to much for the beast to resist.”

“Demetar and Zeek, stick together and try to get to your mounts,” he ordered hoping the two wilders would be ok.

**Scar my friend I need you to scrotch the jousting area to make sure none are hiding in the dark then I need to get T’ka…**  his mental image was cut off as one of the creatures appeared out of the shadows near him.  If he was on his own… but he wasn’t and no time to think on it.  He kicked the table over trying to block the creatures advance as he kept himself between the Warrenlady the part man, wolf and bat like creature.

The creature tore the table to shreds as a mere after thought. M’ren wanted to test his own strength against the creature but there was the safety of the lady to think of first.  It was then a lavender scaled leg picked up the furry beast crushing it in his talons as he clawed and bite at the large dragon. It left its mark as it died but the furry of the dragon paid it no mind.

Demetar listened to N'rwe's singing and clapped at the end. He has never heard a voice this beautiful. It made the whole song seem more alive then it was. Demetar got up from his chair and began to clapping. Going up the stage about to congratulate her he stopped as he heard a scream. He quickly looked around to see where it came from and to his demise he found the whole crowd running for cover from the beasts that had invaded. He has never fought a creature like this but he was not sure for he fought many things.

He found a rider walk up to him trying to tell him to run for cover but the man quickly stopped when he saw Demetar's wicked grin and fell backwards as his scimitars found their way out of their hidden Seth's. His hood fell back down letting his hair go freely. The cloak moved slowly as he walked into the mess. He could see the beta wingleader already fighting one and he saw the alpha wingleader tell Zeek to get his mount and tell the same to him but Demetar was caught off from answering and he could tell Zeel was coming to the area when a creature came toward the wingleader and warrenlady. He was about to attack when another came up behind him.

"DAMMIT!!" he shouted

Blood will be shed tonight and he knew it. The beast ran toward him but he didn't move. Not yet. As the stalker came closer Demetar side stepped letting it pass him and with his great speed slashed at the creature with one scimitar while the other slashed the other way. Thinking this would fell the beast Demetar was surprised as it turned to him blood running down its side. Cursing under his breath he charged the monster and it charged him. Demetar's blades met with talons in deafening clashes. Demetar landed hit over hit on the monster but they were not strong enough to kill. Demetar thought he would kill it from loss of blood but he might be dead by then.

As his scimitar went up again to block another attack he quickly ran it down the monsters arm and when he though he got near he used all his strength to rip the arm off and it worked. As the arm fell to the floor Demetar saw the monster fall to and new this was his only chance. Both scimitars found their Way into the beasts skull and boor into the brain killing it. As Demetar stepped over and looked at his work he could tell he was hurt too and blood covered most of his leather and the armor was ripped but could be repaired.

Demetar then set out to look for any of the new trainees as another beast came to him. Demetar's scimitars came up again ready for anything when Zeel's scorching black breath swallowed the monster leaving hardly more then half a scorched body. Demetar looked up with a small smile at his friend and climbed up the saddle.

Zeel asked

*Never mind hat help me find the trainees we can help them to safety!* Demetar commanded in his mind and Zeel began a low flight just as they spotted Lucio and Kaiari in the mess.

Jumping in front of them blood dripping down he knew this was not very welcoming and he knew that more Will fall to him and Zeel tonight.

"Come it would be safer if Zeel quickly flies you to your hatchlings he said to the two knowing the large dragon might be able to fly them both.

Demetar began to get very impatient as he spotted another coming this way and his scimitars went up blood dripping from the tip ready for another kill. As the beast came closer Demetar intercepted it and both his scimitars met with talons of the stalker creature.

Zeek heard the ceremony start, he removed the jousting armour and ran to where it began. He watched as speeches were gave, medals and armour were given out and congratulated all the new riders. Then he went and sat down and listened to a wonderful song sung by someone zeek didn't know. but shortly after the song was finished Zeek got a bad feeling something was about to happen.

To Zeek dismay something did happen. Strange creatures Zeek had never seen started to attack. Zeek mentally said to Valroug. Valroug replied. Zeek got up quickly and drew his sword as he waited for valroug to get here. Zeek heard M'ern tell Zeek and Demtetar to try and get to there mounts and stick together. After that Zeek whistled for Soric to come. Shortly after that he landed on Zeeks shoulder. " Ready he whispered to Soric. In reply soric ruffled his feathers. Valroug had arrived there .Zeek mentally said to valroug

Zeek ran to where Demetar was standing and said "care to tell me what these thing are. When Zeek had finished saying that one of the creatures came running at them. Zeek quickly readied himself and  Dodged just away from the creature and slashed hard Cutting deeply and killing the creature

"What do we do Dakon?" Narwe asked as the creature landed once more.

Dakon was already spinning, the sword coming out in a fluid motion, his cloak flaring out behind him.  His new armor reflected the light of a hundred torches, shooting sparkles in every direction.  The mutated creature blinked from the sharp pinpricks of light, but was otherwise unaffected.  The few seconds it needed to clear it's eyes was all the time Dakon needed.

As the creature's head flew off and the body slumped, Dakon turned back to Narwe and held up his bloody sword.  "We fight."

Suddenly there was a symphony of roars as the warren dragons took to the air, trumpeting their war calls amid flashes of fire and electricity.

>I am coming my brother!<  Koth called to Dakon, the air whistling past his wings as he arrowed straight towards his rider.

<NO!  These creatures fly as much as they run, and they are splitting up into small groups and going after individuals.  You can see them in the night, while I need to stay in the torches and wait for them to come to me.  Your lightning is much faster then fire, and these creatures will not be able to dodge it.  Let us remind these foul creatures why dragons can harness the very elements of nature!>  Dakon responded, his sword whirling as he backed up towards Narwe, herding her back towards the stage.

Koth was far from happy, but he understood the tactics and trumpeted out his own war call, crackling electricity dancing at the corners of his mouth.  He snapped his wings out and banked hard, his tail lashing behind him like a whip.  Two creatures were caught by surprise by the sudden maneuver, and their broken bodies crashed to the ground.

Back on the ground, Dakon and Narwe were quickly being singled out as one of the more dangerous groups for the creatures to take down.  Several dragons had already landed and claimed their riders, but several groups of civilians had been cut off from the safety of the caverns and were running back towards the stage.

Dakon cursed as another two creatures landed nearby, bringing the total up to 10.  An arrow whistled past his ear and took the nearest creature in the throat, giving him a moment of surprise as he jumped over the still falling corpse and gave tremendous slash.  Several of the creatures jumped back cat quick, giving him the space he was starting to lose.

"APPRENTICES, WARREN FOLK, HEAR ME!  GATHER INTO GROUPS AND WIELD WHATEVER WEAPON LIES NEARBY!  THERE IS STRENGTH IN NUMBERS!"  Dakon screamed as loud he could, jumping back as a particularly large creature lunged at him.  The huge jaws snapped inches away from his face, but was quickly followed by an upwards slash from Dakon's sword that gutted the creature from hip to collar.

>BACK!<  Came Koth's warning, almost not soon enough.  Dakon spun and dove towards Narwe, rolling on his shoulder and coming to his feet as lightning blasted down from the sky and scored a snaking line of charred and melted dirt through the group of creatures.  This was followed by a sudden gust of wind as Koth banked and lashed out with his tail.  The creatures were scattering by now however, and his tail hit only air.

In a moment the fight turned into chaos, and several of the creatures loped away before circling back and glaring at Dakon and Narwe with an evil intelligence.  Dakon was breathing heavy and his face was covered with the creature's blood, and there were several slashes in his tabard.  He stood next to Narwe, who continued to aim and fire off arrows.

"Get on your dragon and get high.  Use her night vision and my light to take aim these creatures.  I have a feeling most of them are in the festival area, so you should have plenty of targets." He said, grabbing a pitcher full of water and dumping it on his face to wash most of the blood off.  He finished the job with a napkin, then sheathed his sword and flipped the table.  Everything slid to the ground with a crash, then Dakon dragged the large wooden table towards the stage with several grunts.  He shoved the table hard against the stage, then went for another.

"This should create a big enough light for you that you can see all of them."  He said, pushing his third large table up.  He next grabbed a long pole and yanked it out of the ground, careful not to tip the clay jug haning from the top.  It sloshed with oil, and a large, flaming wick stood out from the top.  Smashing the jug onto the stage, Dakon jumped back to avoid any splash, then went for another pole.  Soon nearly one half of the top stage was flaming, and the flames only grew from the turbulent winds created by the dragon's passing over head.

The surrounding area lit up like day as the flames grew to several feet high, illuminating several of the creatures who had been attempting to creep close and ambush the two.

There was a terrible downdraft as a blue and orange dragon landed nearby, sending a terrible wave of fire towards the creatures, who once again scattered.  Dakon put his arm around Narwe and began to run to the dragon to was already lowed her wing to allow Narwe up.  Stopping long enough to pull Narwe into a passionate but short kiss, Dakon pushed her up onto the dragon and slapped the large creature's shoulder.

"Fly high and strong tigress!"  He yelled, looking the creature square in the eye, who responded with a puff of smoke and a look that said 'Of course, what else would I do?'

"Aim true my love, and try not to stick me in the butt!"  Dakon said to Narwe with a smile, already running back to the fire.  As he ran he tore his cloak off and let it flutter the ground behind him.  His sword came out an instant later, the metal slithering against the leather sheath with a thin metal scream that tore through the air and made several creatures flinch.

The entire area was bathed in red light as the flames of the stage burned higher, heating the surrounding area to uncomfortable levels.  Several clumps of people could be seen, wielding all manner of strange instruments as weapons to fend off the creatures.  Several broke off when they saw the long sword man, which is exactly what Dakon wanted them to do.  Guarding others was tricky.  You had to keep an eye on them while fighting the attacker, and hoping to do both with success.  Alone... then the true form of the blade master was unleashed.

What Dakon sought to do was draw the creatures to him alone, bring them within reach of his Shom Kavar, and bring to them the sweet death they so longed to inflict upon other people.

"Come on damnit, I'm right here you filthy beasts!"  Dakon screamed throwing his arms wide.  He walked to in front of the fire and put it towards his back, ignoring the intense heat as sweat begin to pour down his back.  "If you want blood, come and claim it, if you can!"

As one the creatures broke the line, many simply tearing across the ground while several others ran to get enough speed and took to the skies.  Dakon raised his sword up and turned the flat towards him, kissing the blade.  His closed his eyes for a moment in silent prayer, the Nischt rising up from within the depths of his soul.  Then the creatures arrived, and Vythvaeri began it's dance.

After M'ren made his long speach....a speach that seem to have become a tradition with the man...N'rwe and Dakon separated from their group, heading toward the stage. With N'rwe continuing up onto the stage and Dakon staying close by.

As N'rwe began her song, her voice captivating as ever, T'ka linked her arm through M'ren's unconsciously as she listened and sipped at her wine.

Before the song was even through, a queasy feeling suddenly gripped her stomach...like a feeling of fear. She tried to ignore it, thinking it to be the feelings she had for M'ren only steadily growing.

As N'rwe ended her song, she removed her arm from M'ren's, setting her wine glass on the table to applaud the woman. She turned to M'ren, and was about to suggest the two go over and praise N'rwe, but before she could get the words out...a blood curdling scream rang out as the applauding had nearly died down.

T'ka turned her head in the direction of the scream. "What in the...." she said letting her words trail off as m'ren pulled her behind him in a protective sense.

As M'ren ordered her to stay behind him, she gave a quick nod of her head, as he ordered others to get to specific areas to defend the warren of whatever it was attacking them.

Just as she started to send out a message to Jalaran and call her back, she spotted what was attacking them.

The creatures looked almost human-like in form, some had thick black fur covering their bodies, while others had thin coarse fur covering their bodies. Their heads were wolf-like. Some had large, but weak...bat-like wings, while others had just a winged membranes going from their front limbs or arms to their sides. Long razor-like talons on their three fingers, while those with full wings had one large talon at the ends of their wings, used for stabbing and holding their victims in place.

T'ka's eyes widened, she had never seen a creature of this sort. As she sent a mental image of these creatures to Jalaran.

T'ka turned her head as M'ren kicked a table on its' side, and noticed one of the creatures right in front of them, with M'ren keeping himself between her and it.

She back up enough to give him space enough to use his sword. Just then the creature smashed through the table with ease. Before M'ren and T'ka had time enough to react, Scar swept down and took the creature in his foreclaws, crushing the creature as it clawed and bit at the lavender dragon, leaving yet another mark that would sure to scar like the dragon's name.

Turning her head, she spotted yet more creatures trying to sneak up behind two of the new trainees as they began to hurry toward where the hatchlings were. Lucio and K'ri unaware of the creatures behind them.

"M'ren!" she said as she pointed toward them, just as Demetar's landed his dragon near them.

"M'ren, you think the lower cavern will be safe for them?" she asked worriedly. She worried that these creatures might find a way in to the new trainees and their hatchlings.

Dakon hacked off the head of the one creature that was advancing on them, before he gave her an answer. At his answer she gave a nod of her head.

Overhead, in the darkness...she heard the roar and the answering roars of the warren dragons.

Dakon began backing up toward her, herding her back toward the stage. She spotted more coming into the light to attack others, noticing that they only took flight when the wind blew.

"Dakon! They can't actually fly....watch them...they are only able to rise into the sky when there is a strong breeze...their wings appear to be too weak to sustain them in actual flight, but they can glide." she said in a hurried manner, as a pack of the creatures began to advance on them, with another two joining them.

N'rwe didn't take the time to count them, she had already nocked another arrow and was just letting it loose, whizzing past Dakon's head and sticking into the throat of one of the creatures.

Dakon jumped forward, slashing one down as the other creatures backed up momentarily. As Dakon screamed out to others to grab what they could to defend themselves, she doubted any heard him through the havoc of screams, metals clashing, dragons roaring.

Just as he shouted those orders, a particularly large one snapped his jaws close to Dakon's face. N'rwe wheeled around and was about to loose another arrow, when Dakon had stabbed and slashed upward, gutting the creature from hip to collar.

Suddenly Dakon's dragon appeared and Dakon dove toward her, rolling on his shoulders and coming back to his feet. N'rwe rolled as well, then flipped her body, bringing herself back to her feet quickly, just as lightening seared down.

N'rwe had been staring right in the direction and had been momentarily blinded by the light. As he sight recovered, she noticed the creatures scattering.

The creatures began circling back, this time in greater numbers, N'rwe continued to fire off arrows.

As he told her to get on her dragon, she quickly recovered those arrows close by them, shoving them in her quiver, as she called out to Kieran.

After wiping off the creatures blood from his face, he then began dragging tables closer to the stage, then took the oil poles and smashed them onto the stage, igniting the stage in large flames.

Suddenly she felt the wind from the downdraft of wings. {I'm here N'rwe...we fight together as always!} Kieran said as the blue and orange dragon came into view behind her. *Yes, we fight together dear!*  she responded, as she turned to her, just as she felt Dakon's arm around her and running toward her dragon.

As they stopped beside Kieran, Dakon pulled her into a short, yet passionate kiss...then she grabbed a few rags on the ground, and then soaked them in the same oil Dakon used for the fire on the stage. She then turned and mounted Kieran as Dakon spoke aloud to the dragon. N'rwe gave a brief smile.

As he spoke to her, she gave him a smile, and took his hand in hers. "My aim is better than that my love. But...if it were to happen...I suppose I would just have to nurse you...now wouldn't I?" she said as she shouldered her bow for the take off.

She let go of his hand reluctantly.

Kieran took to the dark sky, taking her bow, she rested the end of it on her knee, as she wrapped an oil soaked rag around the arrow shaft, then nocked an arrow. Looking down, she spotted a pack of the creatures advancing on Dakon, just as she felt Kieran about to let loose her fiery breath.

*No, Kier...you might hit Dakon...here light this!* she told her, as the dragon's head snaked around for a moment and she held the arrow out for her, as she snorted a small burst of flame, igniting the arrow.

She then took aim on one creature that was trying to sneak up behind Dakon. She let loose, the flaming arrow flying through the night sky right at its' target.

The fiery arrow hit its' target in the chest, the arrow going deep, burning into the creature's  flesh.

She noticed that a few people must have heard Dakon's previous orders, either that or they were defending themselves instictively.

Lucio turned as the scream pierced the night; he knew it was time to do what he had trained to do for so long. Protect the person he loved, even if it meant danger to himself. Placing an arm around Kaiari he turned to see where they would be needed. Hearing M’ren’s instructions Lucio nodded and took Kai’s hand.

“Come on we have to protect the Hatchlings.” He said as he began to run for the cavern where the newly hatched dragons were supposed to be sleeping. As he tried to lead Kaiari away he looked up and gave a whistle towards Gawyn and his girl. “Come on!” he yelled over the screams of the crowd.

Never realizing that they were being followed Lucio did his best to keep out of the fight and head for the hatchlings’ cavern. Hearing the WarrenLady scream and then feeling someone behind them. Lucio turned positioning Kai behind him. He knew she could defend herself but he felt it was his duty to protect her. Ready to fight the foul beast he was thankful for Demeter’s arrival but when the lad spoke Lucio frowned.

“Now is not the time. You have instructions by M’ren to follow and we have to get to the Hatchlings. Go fight the creatures Demeter, while we protect the young dragons.” He placed a hand on Demeter’s shoulder giving it a squeeze and giving the Wilder a serious determined look. Lucio then turned to Kai, “stay as close to me as possible but make sure you reach the Hatchlings first.” He then turned her and told her to go.

Taking a sword he had strapped to his belt he pulled it out. Looked around then took off running after Kai with the sword back in it’s leather protector at his hip. The end of the scabbard slapped his thigh as he ran. He just prayed that Aer and the other Hatchlings were ok.

K'ri stood beside Lucio as a woman she didn't know, went up on the stage to sing. She found herself laying her head on Lucio's shoulder as the woman sang her song.

She found the song uplifting and beautiful.

When the woman finished and was descending the steps of the stage, the crowd was applauding, but as the applauding began to die down, a blood curdling scream rang out into the night....causing K'ri's body to stiffen as she jerked her head in the direction of the scream, just as she felt Lucio's arm around her.

Hearing The Alpha Wingleader's instructions, she turned with Lucio, as he grabbed her hand. The two took off running, unaware of a few creatures lurking in the darkness behind them, closing in on them, just as Demetar appeared.

As Lucio spoke to him, she waited for him, peering around them. The creatures remained hidden in the darkness.

When they finished, she took off running, still unsure of what they were running from...with Lucio right behind her.

She took the chance to look back at him for a moment, and noticed that he had aquired a sword...presumably from Demetar.

Just as she turned back around she skidded to a stop as two of the creatures were blocking her path. Fear gripped her as she allowed the heat within to intensify.

She then took off at a dead run, as the urgency to protect the hatchlings peaked. The skirt on her green dress began to show scorch marks in various places, as her heat intensified further.

As she bowled into the two creatures, one was soon engulfed in flames as she touched it, while the other had moved just at that last moment, and slashed out with its' talons, catching her on the back.

She collapsed in pain to the ground. Just as she turned her head, she spotted Lucio slashing out, then stabbing the creature in the chest.

The next she knew, he was helping her up, and off to the Hatching Room, located just next to the Med Center, where the hatchlings had been left to sleep off their first meal.

There was no telling how bad her injury was until they were safe in the room, where there was enough light to see by. To her the gash felt deep, and she could feel the warm blood running down her bare back, and staining the green dress.

She could hear Tyaen in the back of her thoughts. When she responded to her, she did her best to keep her thoughts from worrying the young hatchling, and told her she was on her way and to stay where she was, as well as telling her to tell the other Hatchlings, if they woke to stay put as well.

Lucio lead her toward the Cavern that was adjoined to the Med Center, and could be reached from the outside as well as inside the Med Center, and then down the short corridor to the Hatchling Room. K'ri collapsed beside Tyaen...lying on her belly to allow Lucio to get a better look at the large gash on her back.

A boy not much younger than she, one of those who stood watch over the sleeping hatchlings ran up. Lucio instructed him to quickly head to the Med Center for some supplies.

K'ri spoke up. "Anestheal....I will need that as well....you'll find it on the top shelf in the med storage facility." she said in a pained voice as Tyaen moved as close as she could get to her.

The boy took off as fast as he could, and in a short time returned with bandages and the Anestheal she had asked for.

"Lucio...slather this on the wound...it..." she paused to catch her breath as the pain burned within her. "It will...dull the pain...as well as begin to heal quickly too. Then bandage it..." she said, knowing he should be able to handle that.

She winced as he went to work, doing as she instructed.

Once the Anestheal was on, she could feel the effects straight away. When he had her bandaged, she sat up, assuring Tyaen in her mind that she would be fine.

She leaned over and kissed Lucio's cheek. "Thank you!" she said softly, as Tyaen laid her head in her lap.

Suddenly, as realization set in...a fear set in...a type of fear she had never know before. "What..." she looked toward the corridor and the wall the led outside. "What were those things...I've never seen such creatures before." she said as she gave a shiver, as she remebered the hideous features of the creatures that had previously stood before her.

She knew that what she had done...charging the things as she did...may have been the wrong tactic to take...but seeing as she didn't have her weapon...her ability within was the second best thing for her. The only thought was that she needed to get to the hatchlings before those creatures did....resulting in her injury.

Her body still burned with intense heat, yet she shivered as if she were cold...but it wasn't coldness that made her shiver...it was the fear that was now gripping her insides.

It wasn't really a Royalty thing persay.  The kiss was optional and really only used for the Queens and Princesses on highly formal occasions, or for a woman that the person had a great amount of respect for, which was the case in this situation.

The young man blushed as red as cardinal, as the Beta Wingleader kissed him back.  After a moment, he recovered his wits, and said to her in a low teasing voice, "Listen, Beta Wingleader, I have a great deal of respect for you, but this thing between you and me...it's not going to work out.  I'm sorry.  The Head Searcher would have my head if he ever found out about us."

Gawyn had returned to his spot just behind Sylvia, when a young woman he hadn't seen in the short time he'd been here started to sing.  She had an amazing voice.  In fact she was better than just about all the bards that had come to his parent's castle, and he was soon lost in her song.

It came to an end all too soon, and the man was just thinking that he would like to hear more, when he heard a blood-curdling scream, and all thought was brought to an abrupt halt.  Spinning around, the crowd was too thick for the trainee to see anything at first, but as the mahem ensued, he was finally able to catch a glimpse of the flying warewolf things.

His first instinct was to stay and fight, and automatically reached for his sword, only to find it not there.  Of all the times to have left it in his quarters.  Hearing M'ren's orders, Gawyn made his way through the throng of frantic people, and grabbed a pole that was exhibiting a red banner.  Ripping off the banner, the young man turned the stick into a quarter staff, and ran back to grab Sylvia's hand and give her a bit of a yank to get her moving.  "Come on." Revenge is sweet.  That will teach her to drag me onto a dance floor, the boy thought.  Even in battle Gawyn found it hard to be completely serious.

On his way past one of the food stands, Gawyn grabbed a handful of meat for Cronus, as promised, and was prepared to pay the man who was tending the stand, but put the coin back in his pouch because the man was nowhere to be seen.  Suddenly getting a brilliant idea, he gathered up the rest of still hot meat into a table cloth, and threw it as far as he could away from the terrified mob of people, hoping that at least a couple of the monsters would trail after it.  At least, it would buy some time for some of the warrenfolk.

He started to run again, but was pulled up short as one of the winged terrors came out of thin air to head him off.  Using a good bit of strength, the young man brought the right end of the stick down on the thing's snout, rammed the left end into it's gut, and then followed around and smacked the creature across the side of it's face, knocking it unconscious, but not before the thing had been able whip it's paw around and dig it's long claws into his arm, ripping a nice, deep gash from just below the deltoid to just abouve the inside of his elbow.  Walking around the back, Gawyn put his foot between the joints of the thing's wings, slipped the staff under the monster's chin, and forcefully yanked up, crushing the winged warewolf's windpipe.

Taking a second to see if Sylvia had decided to follow him, Gawyn surveyed the chaos.  It wasn't good.

Dakon moved like a blazing angel of death, the raging inferno behind him sending waves of heat across the green.  Vythvaeri had claimed the lives of scores of creatures, but they just kept coming.  The blood bath Dakon had created was attracting many of the creatures, and soon they began to circle him.

Bending backwards under a slash from one of the creatures, Dakon lashed out with his sword and felt it bite deep into the gut of a creature behind him.  He changed directions desperately and killed another creature by removing it's head, but the sheer numbers were pushing him back.

>Brother!  I want to help!<  Koth said, winging past and blasting a line of charred flesh through the group.

<Not yet.  I need to get to the cloak, and not enough of these creatures have gathered.  We need to get the majority here in a group if we want to kill them.>

>Ok, but how will you survive long enough to do that?  There are dozens of them down there, and more arriving.<

<I only need to remind them to stay out of the reach of my Shom Kavar, not kill them all.  That's your job.  When you get my signal, blanket the area around me in as much lightning cloud as you can, then light it.>  Dakon said, launching a furious attack against the wall of creatures that opened a gap and gave him his gate.

Vaulting through it, he began sprint back towards the fire, which his cloak lay next to.  He began a running fight with the creatures, who moved as a pack to harry and circle their opponent once again.  Dakon kept their formation erratic by changing directions suddenly, stopping and fighting suddenly, or taking off as fast as he could.

Finally he made it to the cloak, which he scooped off the ground and threw over his shoulders.  He pulled the hood up and knelt down, jamming  Vythvaeri as deep into the ground as he could.  <NOW!>

Just as he held his breath and closed his eyes, a cloud of noxious fumes washed over him.  He could feel his skin tingling from the gas, but refused to open his eyes or mouth.  He gripped Vythvaeri's blade as hard as he could, waiting for the resulting explosion.  He was not disappointed.

-Circling the fight moments before-

Koth took a few more haggard gasps, waiting for his breath sacs to generate enough liquid for him to discharge electricity.  He hated this tactic of drawing in the enemy to Dakon and covering them all with a cloud of lightning.  The two of them had figured out a way for Dakon to survive the blast relatively unscathed, but Koth still hated it.

Finally he felt the tingle at the back of his jaw, and he opened his mouth and let loose with massive bolt of electricity that incinerated the cloud.  The fumes, which had coated everything in a thin film of extremely conductive substance, turned into a supernova for an instant as all the electricity discharged at the same time.

-Back on the Ground-

Dakon felt the wave of superheated air wash over for an instant, and his muscles spasmed as the lightning flowed through his armor into the blade of Vythvaeri and down into the ground.  His cloak, which had minute threads of copper sewn into it, soaked up the majority of the heat generated from the cloud.

Everything was done just like that.  Several creatures had scattered when the dragon had come close, but the majority of the pack was dead.  The sudden ringing silence around Dakon made him crack an eye open, and he saw the result of the tactic.  Several creatures lay nearby, untouched but obviously dead.  They all lie in unnatural positions, their muscles spasming just before death.

Dakon stood, grimacing as he unlocked cramped muscles.  He pulled Vythvaeri from the ground, careful not to touch the blade to anything.  He held the sword tenderly, keeping the blade well away.  He could hear the air snapping as the blade passed through it as he began to make his way towards several creatures who were still content to attack civilians.

Dakon went unnoticed until he stood just behind the pack, at which time he yelled "Hey uglies, I got something for you!"

Several creatures turned and jumped, which is exactly what Dakon needed them to do.  Leaning back, he fell to a knee and braced himself, then raised the sword with on hand flat against the end of the hilt.  He gritted his teeth and clenched his muscles, willing his body to be as still as stone.  He pointed the blade at the nearest flying monster, then turned his head and closed his eyes.

The moment the creature touched the tip of the sword, the world flashed.  Dakon was thrown to the ground and twisted his shoulder, the sword flying out of his grip and landing several feet away.  The creature who had touched the sword went flying through the air like a smoking flesh comet, sailing over the terrified and stunned warren folk.  It hit the ground with a thud and lay unmoving, filling the air with the smell of charred flesh.

Grunting, Dakon rolled onto his stomach and pushed himself up with his good arm, his other held across his chest.  He crawled over to Vythvaeri and grabbed the hilt, then jammed the blade into the ground and used it to stand.  A few creatures came edging back towards the group, much more cautious of the warrior who seemed to wield a bolt of lightning as a weapon.

"I wouldn't do it."  Dakon said to the creatures, his face tired and grim.  His injured arm lay limp at his side, but his other whipped the sword through the air in warning.  They continued to watch him, edging closer and closer.

"I warned you."  Dakon said, flashing them a grim smile as the sound of flapping wings grew suddenly louder.  The night lit up very close as Koth was illuminated by the lightning blasting from his mouth.

Shielding his eyes from the blast, Dakon was relieved that the savage fighting was done.  Now the Rider's could focus more on shielding the warren folk and driving out the invaders rather then trying to separate the two.  "Alright folks, let's get you heading towards the caverns.  Koth and I will shield you."

Not waiting for an answer, Dakon strode towards Koth, who was finally landing to pick up his rider.  The dragon lowered one leg for Dakon, but otherwise kept his neck crest raised aggressively and a watchful eye out.  Sheathing Vythvaeri, Dakon began pulling himself up to the saddle with one arm.  He had to stop several times to catch his breath, and finally Koth lost his patience.  Grabbing Dakon by the back of his armor, the dragon deposited him unceremoniously onto the saddle.

Dakon pulled his cloak from his head and glared at the dragon, but was ignored as Koth spread his wings and jumped powerfully.  He had to quickly grab for the saddle horn to keep from falling off, and then his next few moments were to strap his leathers on to prevent from falling in flight.

The pair began a slow circle around the ground of fleeing civilians, blasting any creature that came close.  Dakon simply rode, trusting in Koth to protect the people.  He could feel his shoulder beginning to swell, and his elbow ached quite a bit as well.  The tactic he and Koth had employed was as dangerous as it was lethal.  Pull the enemy to Dakon, have him plant his sword into the ground to channel the lightning away from him and into the ground, cover them all with a lightning cloud, then set the cloud off and stop their hearts.

The only side affect that Dakon had not foreseen was Vythvaeri holding the lightning.  The first time he had blown the sheath, belt and his pants off when he tried to sheath the charged sword.  It made for a great one time attack, though usually threw Dakon to the ground and twisted something.

>Pay attention.<  the dragon snapped to Dakon, banking to make another circuit around the group on the ground.  The blue dragon let rip another lightning bolt, blasting a diving creature out of the air.  >There are still plenty of these things to kill.<

<Fine.  Let's get this group under cover and join up with beta leader.>  Dakon responded, tightening the last of his leather restraints.  <I'm sure she has something in mind.>[/i]

Type of Monster: Night Stalker

Meliphis set on his hunches enjoying the night, his eyes half closed as the ecstasy washed over him. The hairs on his body tickled with joy and his tongue could taste the fear in the air a delicacy so very sweet it aroused his desires. The brood was eating this night and for the briefest of moments not even the fire lizards of the sky would stay their lust of blood.

His amber eyes shone brightly as he took in the sights around him, a few of the hairless apes had managed to slay some of the brood, a snarl of anger and hate was curved into that fang filled mouth.  But none of those slain were true brood only weaklings and less then that.  He would not howl for them this night.

He watched as some of his brothers and sisters pinned their victims to the wall with their sharp wing tips.  Then they would use their long fingers and tongues to wrench more fear from their victim before devouring them. These men as they would call themselves always seemed so fearful to have someone touch their bodies uninvited.

The sweet smell of fear with a touch of hope he tasted on the wind and looking for the source he spied a young man heading towards a cave where other young ones were headed.  Meliphis leaped upward letting the wind catch his wings and flew gracefully over the running victim.  He let his shadow fall over the young man who looked up, fear was etched in those blue eyes.

‘Ah my sweet morsel soon you will fill my hunger if only for the briefest of moments.’ He mentally thought out as he dropped closer.

‘YOU Can not have my Rider he is Mine!’ cried a voice in Meliphis mind.

A moment’s hesitation as he hovered over the young man. A strong emotion of love and protectiveness seem to come form something in the boys mind, what was this vile stench.  ‘Na you wicked creature of love the boy is mine.’  He roared a beastly roar and dived for the boy.

Strangely the boy stopped his body filled with fear, but he brandished a sword before him. He could since that other voice in the boys mind was now fearful as well.  Though it feared not for itself the fear was for the boy. A grin spread across Meliphis face as the young mans face turned white. It attempted to stab at Meliphis which only amused him as he knocked the blade away. He had seen the hairless apes play with their toy fangs but no simple weapon would fall Meliphis.

He let his wing pierce the shoulder of the young man and lift him off the ground drawing him ever closer.  Taking his time to let the fear build up. ‘No no no!!!’ screamed that inner voice.

Meliphis leaned back and laughed the sound echoed far. The boy did not give up the fight so easily however to the joy of the night stalker. He struggled uselessly to get away to pull himself from Meliphis dark wing.  A sudden pain in his right leg made him aware of another. A smallish fire lizard seemed to be attacking him and with that came the realization of the mind voice.

Meliphis roared not with pain but with delight. A fire lizard not yet winged all for the taking not to mention the feel of sweet revenge.  With a quick flick of his wing he ended the boys’ struggles and life.  However, in doing so the night stalker was stunned for moment as the dragon and many around howled with rage and lose then the fire lizard vanished.

"M'ren!" she said as she pointed toward them, just as Demetar's landed his dragon near them.

"M'ren, you think the lower cavern will be safe for them?" she asked worriedly. She worried that these creatures might find a way in to the new trainees and their hatchlings.

M’ren listened to her words as he look over that way, it was on the other side now of what seemed to be a bon fire on the stage.  He sighing a bit knowing he would have to assign a rebuild.  He could see several of the creatures moving toward the area of the hatching caves and the 30 new dragon riders in small groups.  He was torn between saving the trainees, hooking up with the Alpha wing and protecting the Warrenlady and the queen.

‘Damn it I can’t do it all,’ he thought fiercely.

‘Then don’t we are here to help you’ Scar replied in his mind.

‘First lets get T’ka and Jala safe’ M’ren ordered.

‘Of course, Jala is ready to whisk T’ka away’ the dragon replied as though a parent to a child that just discovered something obvious.

“We will help them shortly, but first we must get you and Jala to safety. I couldn’t live with myself if anything happened to either of you.  Especially you,” he said looking deeply into her eyes. He didn’t have time for this, but he realized as he heard another scream in the night that this might be the very last chance he had.  “T’ka I love you, and you must stay safe at all cost you are the heart of the warren.” It was very difficult for him to admit these words not only to her but to himself.  He pulled her tight and kissed her deeply though it was far to short, as he was soon helping her onto Jala and turning back to Scar.

‘I want 10 dragons surrounding the queen from top to bottom’ M’ren relayed to Scar.

‘They won’t like not being in the action but they will be there’ was Scars reply. ‘Now let’s go deal with my rider.

M’ren gave a wicked grin and climbed up on Scar, as they leaped to the air. Scar relayed reports from the eyes of the dragons.  Of which he knew T’ka was also getting, though he didn’t wish for her ability for too many minds in his head would cause sorting out what was happening very difficult.  With the bon fire at the grandstand it seemed to draw a number of the creatures that Dakkon and N’rwe were dealing with very well. The foolish man was trying to be a one man army.

Distracted from his course, Alpha leader quickly ordered several dragon riders to help in deterring some of the beast from heading in the young mans direction, hoping that Dakkons actions would not cause the death of himself and his dragon.  One realization came to mind though as he surveyed the beast, some were much stronger then the others where in 2 or 3 very good men nearly lost there life’s just bringing down one creature. Think the heavens they all were not that strong.

Another problem he saw was that a lot of stray creatures were going into the living quarters. Like rats getting them out of there was going to be a monumental task.  As he thought it he spied the Beta leader.  ‘Just the person for the job, he thought’

‘My friend relay to Agvnige that she needs to keep those creatures out of the living quarters and to get the ones out that have gone in’ dragon communication was quick as he noticed those dark brown eyes of hers look his way.

He started to turn his attention to the young dragon riders when the night seem to explode, it didn’t take him long to realize it had been Dakon and his lighting. “Damn fool he shouted,” though he admired the amount of damage the boy did and likely the kid bought some time, but it was a damn dangerous thing to do not to mention there were a number of riders helping him.  Luckily they were far enough away not to get singed.

‘And tell the Beta wingleader to pull the kid in where she can keep him safe from himself.’  His only response that he got from Scar was a nod of his head and laughter in his mind.  Scar knew his rider well and that M’ren wanted nothing more then to pit his strength against that of the creatures.  But command of the wings meant he had to delegate most of the work.

A roar and a scream went up from all the dragons as a young dragon rider was killed and the dragon went in between.  M’ren had spent to much time getting distracted and now it was time to see what he could do for the 30 no scratch that 29 young riders.  He could already see Lucio, Kaiari, Gawyn and Sylvia approaching.  He just hoped he would be there in time to help them.

Demetar smiled understanding what he was told "Protect her my friend" Demetar said but knew it was already late for they almost made it by now to the hatchlings.

Demetar came back to his fight as the beast charged again. Demetar locked it close then quickly kicked the monster letting it fall a bit and stabbed at the creature slash after slash till his leggings were red with blood. He didn't notice Zeek coming in but only shrugged. As two more came in Demetar raised his blades. Seeing the odds must be at least two to one. Demetar got his blades ready and charged just as the two others did. Parrying the first attack he quickly used the other scimitar to cut off the monster's arm sending it to the ground and then changing his footing both his blades met with its neck and beheaded it. Demetar kicked the fallen head down and knocked the headless body still moving to the ground. The other hardly concerned with its allies death charged the ranger head on. Demetar dodged the blow by ducking low then came up with his right scimitar in an uppercut across the beasts chest and Zeel came behind it and crushed it with his strength. Demetar could tell the dragon has sent his own number of opponents to their oblivion and smiled.

*Quickly catch the sky and scorch them with the black flames!* Demetar shouted in his mind

Zeel didn't wait a second lifting to the sky he quickly found himself three of the monsters and scorched two to nothing while the other dodged but the dragon had his own speed. Landing in front of the monster with a great sweep of the scimitar like claws the monster ended falling into pieces. Zeel headed off again to look for more pray close to his rider. Landing by Demetar he found the ranger fighting another beast but before he could land Demetar already found another way to kill it.

Demetar himself was now covered in his and the monsters' blood. As a few more came in Zeel landed and his fire got to them first killing them on the spot. Demetar looked over the field hardly counting how much he has killed as another came to him from the way off the lightning cloud that came from Koth. Demetar held his ground and as one came to him with its talons raised Demetar used the monsters momentum to his advantage. Sidestepping he tripped the monster with a slash of his scimitar sending it flying forward with one foot. Zeel then scorched the body lighting the grass with black flame. The immense heat of the fire was getting to Demetar and Zeel understood and put it out with a few swings of his tail.

Demetar's adrenaline was at max and as it pumped through his body he could almost see things moving a bit slower. As another beast came Demetar charged it but stopped as the talons came to his neck. Leaning back to dodge he then countered with his own to slashes and another two to end the monster. Turning back he could see Zeek to having his own fight with a beast and Zeel fighting four on one. Not letting his dragon in pain Demetar charged.

The black rage filled him as he sent his knives flying through the air. They all hit their spot and the beast fell. Demetar the redrew his scimitars and charged at the monster which was stunned at his sudden coming. Taking the advantage he quickly stabbed his blade through the monsters heart but with a last bit of life scratched Demetar's face. Blood ran down his cheek but he ignored it. Zeel used this chance to and with a sharp sweep of his talons killed the remaining two. Demetar was now in complete rage.

"WHEN WILL THIS END!?" He shouted to himself drawing another beast toward him. But blocked the talons and cutting off both the beasts hands he quickly sent slash after lunge at the beast even after it was dead.

Zeel has never seen his rider in this much rage and understood they could not survive long just killing one after the other even with Demetar's skill. Gathering his knives he took up one of the beast's arms and belted it Demetar then began to run looking for the alpha wingleader. Since he still had no wing he decided to head for him being followed by Zeel. Demetar cut off any Resistance letting the other riders finish the ones he killed. Blood was now thick in his hair and dry and wet blood of the beasts covered him.

As he ran through the place looking for the wingleader a beast jumped up at him. This one was injured and blood covered its mouth. Demetar was disgusted and not so far away he could spot the alpha wingleader. With a quick combination with his scimitar he quickly killed the beast before it could defend and rushed at the scimitar. Adrenaline still ran through his body and he stood there both scimitars completely red with the dark blood and dripping Demetar got out some words from his throat.

"Any orders sir?" Demetar asked keeping a sharp look.

Another charged at him and he held it in a lock wanting to see its strength. Demetar was well built himself but the beast seemed to have it's own strength. With a small grunt he pushed the beast away and then quickly came back to it stabbing it in the heart then leading his blades up. Blood ran through the hole Demetar created leading all the way to the head and kicked the beast away but he was surprised as it stood back up in a final rage. Demetar quickly moved his scimitars parrying and blocking till he found an opening and horizontally slashed the beast. The sharp scimitars cutting all the way through cutting the beast in half. Demetar though came back to the woingleader and wanted to see if there was any orders and knew Zeek will soon be behind him.

Dakon lunged for the saddle horn as Koth lunged suddenly, his muscles straining as he held on for dear life.  The warren suddenly filled with the rage filled roar of the dragons, and Koth's roar sent a shiver of fear down Dakon's spine.

<Koth, what's wrong, what happened?>  He said, leaning forward to pat the blue's neck.

>I WILL DESTROY THEM ALL!!!!  THEY HAVE BETRAYED THE BLOOD AND TAKEN A DRAGON LIFE!!<  Came the searing response to his mind as Koth let out another roar.  Before Dakon could ask more the dragon turned hard again, abandoning the group they had been protecting.  They were near the caverns and still held their weapons, so Dakon wasn't too worried about them.

"Koth damnit, what is going on!?"  Dakon screamed, looking down as the ground flew by at a terrific speed.  He knew Koth was flying all out, and very few things got the dragon pushing this hard.

<Answer me damnit!>

The dragon ignored him, instead letting out another roar as he searched the ground for something.  Dakon battered at the barriers Koth had placed around his mind, but nothing worked.

Laying one hand on Koth's neck, Dakon closed his eyes and focused.  He dove into Koth's mind, or atleast attempted to.  His eyes snapped open with a gasp and his head started pounding.  "Not again..."  he murmured to himself, searching the sky for another rider.  Many looked on in shock as the single dragon arrowed through the air, heedless of any obstructions.

Finally Dakon lost his temper, and he slapped a hand against Koth's neck, blasting his way into the dragon's mind.  <YOU WILL LISTEN AND YOU WILL CALM, NOW!>

Koth snorted in contempt, still searching the ground.  Dakon grit his teeth and pushed harder, battering through Koth's defenses like only he could.  Finally he reached the center of Koth's being, and the firestorm within raged without limit.

THRAEKOTH, SON OF JALARAN, HEAR ME!  I COMMAND YOU TO SATE YOUR BLOOD RAGE AND OBEY!  TURN AROUND AND FLY TO SILVERWING, OR I WILL GROUND YOU FOR A MONTH!

That got the dragon's attention, and he turned back to glare at Dakon for a long moment.  There was a battle of wills for a moment, and then finally the dragon surrendered and banked.  Dakon pulled out of the dragon's mind and leaned his forehead onto the saddle, breathing hard.  He hated forcing his will onto Koth like that, but when the dragon entered a rage it was often the only way to subdue him short of beating him.

<I know you thirst for revenge, but there are simply too many.  I promise you that there is plenty of time for revenge tonight.  Just find Silverwing.>  Dakon whispered into Koth's mind.

>And after we can have a little chat about the stunt you just pulled.  You may be my rider, but I am still a dragon.  No one does that to me.<

As N'rwe and Kieran flew up high, then came down in a dive, Kieran picked up one creature, tearing its' wings from its' back, the launching it through the night sky.

The creature landed, crumpled on the ground...its' body broken....just as she spotted Dakon drawing many of the creatures toward him. She watched, as fear for him gripped her...but the next moment...Kieran rode a thermal upwards and he was out of her sight.

The only thing she saw was a blinding light, generated from the ground. She gasped in fear...mentally praying that he was ok. As Kieran dove back down, she was relieved to see that he was. She had another flaming arrow prepared to take down another.

As Kieran came in close, she loosed the arrow...which flew passed the one she aimed at, but to her surprise struck one just behind it, lurking in the shadows, in the head.

She turned her head as she was about to prepare another arrow, and as Kieran banked to her left, she spotted two of the new trainees heading toward where...presumably...the hatchlings were kept.

Her eyes widened as she spotted one girl, bravely plow toward two of the creatures that suddenly barred their way. One leapt aside out of the girl's range, while the other burst into flames.

N'rwe watched...shocked by what she had just witnessed by the young girl, just as the same creature who had leapt aside out of the girl's reach, came back, slashing the girl with its' razor sharp talons.

Kieran banked toward them, just as the young man just behind her, quickly disposed of the creature and helped the girl toward the Med Center, or rather to the outer entrance just adjacent to the Med Center.

The next she knew...nearly every dragon let out a mournful roar...she had heard those same roars only once before...and knew what that could only mean. A dragon has been killed.

Sorrow filled her, as she felt the same...if not deeper sorrow from Kieran, just as the blue and orange dragon banked sharply. Sharp enough that it would have thrown her from the saddle, had she not been strapped in. She could now feel the blood rage emanating from Kieran. Delving deep into the dragon's mind, before she was able to go fully into her blood rage, as she softly stroked the dragon's neck. *Kieran...stay focused dear...I need you to stay focused. We will have time to mourn our loss later...first we need to stay focused....come back Kieran...come back!* she told her in a gentle tone. It was the only way she knew to get the great dragon to come back to her.

Kieran suddenly rode another thermal upward, before she finally responded. {You are right ...but I will have my revenge....N'rwe...it was one of the hatchlings we lost, as well as his riders.} she responded sadly.

Still stroking her neck, *I understand my dear....but the warren needs our help right now...I promise...we will have our revenge...as well as our time to mourn.* she replied.

N'rwe held onto the horn of her saddle as Kieran dove downward again. *Kieran...we should probably get to Wingleader M'ren...find out if he has any orders for us.* she said. {I'm on it!} she replied and within moments, they found him. As the came in close to the Wingleader and his dragon, but not close enough that would cause a collision...or to get in the pair's way.

She had Kieran ask the man's dragon to ask his rider if he had any orders for her. She had an arrow already prepared, with the oil soaked rag...waiting to be ignited by Kieran's fiery breath. N'rwe watched the man, as she waited for a reply back through their dragons...since words spoken between the directly would just be lost in the noisy chaos below them.

Zeek told Valroug. Zeek told ?soric to go and round up a few of the creatures. At that soric was off clawing some of the creatures and then flying out of reach. While that a few of the creatures charged at Zeek the first Zeek easily side steped and beheaded the monster but the wasn't so easy, it was already close to zeek and had no need for charging, so it took a heavy swipe of its arm aimed at Zeeks shoulder. Zeek quickly moved his sword to block, after Zeek had blocked the slash he let one hand keep a grip on his blade while the other went for his dagger, which Zeek quickly drew and cut of the creature's arm, who let out a howl as its arm was cut off. Zeek replaced his dagger and grabbed his sword, with both hands. Then he put his sword over his head and made a murderous slash down. The creature tried to block it with its other arm
