Nickname: Inky

Skin Color/Appearance: Inky is usually mistaken for a twelve year old with her slender, boyish build. She is fair with a scattering of freckles across her nose and cheeks. Normally she is rather scruffy in her appearance . She tends to pull her long reddish-blonde hair into an unkempt pony tail. Usually, due to the fact that she's always exploring where she shouldn't, she is smudged with dirt. Her birth name is sparrow, but because she's always so grubby, the cooks call her inky. She might be pretty, but its rather hard to tell. Her features are fairly regular, but her mouth is slightly generous, and her nose is small and pert.
Eye Color: Green
Personality: Inky is a bit overly-exuberant. She's usually getting into trouble in some way. She's clever, but childlike, keeping a stubborn ignorance about most things an adult should know. She's kind to animals and is generally friendly to all. She's generous with what she has. She keeps a wall of cheerfulness around her that hides whatever else she might have in her heart.
Abilities/Talents: Inky is a lovely singer, and she makes up songs as she works. She's athletic, but has little interest in being a rider or warrior. She has learned to cook pretty well from the other cooks. Her specialty is cookies, which she keeps on hand to offer anyone that looks as though they are feeling sorry for themselves. She keeps a journal and though she struggles with the words due to her poor education, she still likes to keep her thoughts there. but she keeps it hidden under a floorboard in her bedroom to hide the fact. If necessary, she is a practiced pickpocket and good with small blades from her previous life as a street urchin. She keeps secrets well.
Weaknesses: She's never learned serious combat and so is rather easy to kill if someone actually thought to do so. She is attracted to shiny things like a magpie. Some of her troubles happen because she'll pester the owner of the shiny thing to let her have it. She's managed to overcome her tendency to swipe said shiny thing. She can't resist mysteries. She's curious to a fault and finds people to be immensely interesting. She has no screening ability and will blithely run along with the shady character with the large scar down his cheek because she has to know how he got it. Despite her friendliness, she keeps her own soul tightly held and doesn't let anyone know what lies beyond her madcap exterior.
Father's Name: Unknown she lost her parents at birth.
Mother's Name: Unknown. A cook named Esta has had her as her assistant since she was found by Lady Tarika at 15.
History: Inky was raised by an aunt with far too many children until she was fourteen. The aunt grew weary of feeding yet one more child and with the child's gangly looks, she did not think she'd be able to marry her off any time soon, So, she decided to apprentice her to a saddle maker and get her off her hands.
Inky absolutely failed as a saddle maker. The saddle maker was surly and would beat her for her mistakes. One day she lost her temper and threw a bucket of the rusty water used to dye the leather at the man. Before she could be beaten again, she ran away and lived on the streets.
A gang of street urchins found her and took her to their hideout within the shipping docks. Their leader was a wild teenager of seventeen named Astal whom she immediately fell in love with. He taught her how to pickpocket and how to perform sleight of hand and card tricks and how to sing to get more money. As a sign of her loyalty to the group, she was given a tattoo of a black heart in the clutches of a dragon claw on her cheek. She dreamed of one day marrying Astal. One day she saw Astal kissing a pretty girl with shiny black hair. Her heart torn, she fled the urchins in the middle of the night and stowed away in a turnip wagon to the next town.
She survived as well as she could, swiping food here and there and performing songs and tricks for the wealthy people that passed by. Every now and again someone would throw in a piece of food or some trinket that she could trade, but no one really cared about her. Then one day a fine lady surrounded by body guards was passing down the street on some sort of business and happened to meet up with the girl. Inky proceded to perform for the beautiful lady, and was quite surprised that she actually stopped to watch her. Even more surprising is that she asked Inky if she would like to come stay in the warren. Some of the guards were a bit concerned about this, she obviously belonged at one time to Black Antimony, a crime organization that encompassed far more than the simple petty theft she was trained to do. The lady, whose name she later learned was Tarika, eased their concerns and said that it was fairly obvious the girl had no idea what the group really was. She asked Inky again, and she accepted. At the Warren, Tarika gave her to the cook Esta, who had lost her daughter in a wraith attack some time ago.
It took awhile, but the cook managed to coax the girl back into cheerful spirits. She's been happy for the years she's lived with Esta and the other cooks except for the teasing she'd receive for her tattoo.
