When Jamie and I went to SandHill recently,I brought an IR thermometer and held it in front of me ,beneath my camera. When I would encounter temp drops( as compared to baseline ambient temperature of 73 degrees)I woulld take a photo. While it never captured anything remotely concrete, it did yield some interesting pictures.I was actually able to locate a cold spot, measure it's temp(52 degrees) and place my camera inside it's perimeter and fire away.I'm anxious to get the digital video with the IR illuminator out there to record all our data in realtime.Put a name and a face together.Have a date, a time, a temp ,and a video with sound, so all the pieces will fall into place. It's something I need to convince myself there's more to it than I'm currently willing to beleive. We aren't the type to run run away screaming like little girls but this particular place has put us at a jogging pace more than a few times.I want to know what it is creating this sense of "get me the Hell outta here". That is why equipment is crucial, as opposed to the "Spidey sense". It helps to remove the BoogeyMan from the equation. |
