Here's the two experiences I remember the best from Shadow Man. The first was a moderately tempered night at about 8:00 or 9:00 p.m.. I was about 5 years old and for some reason I was getting worried because my parents were no where to be found. They could've been anywhere, but they were not in the house and I started to stress a little...I don't know...I was 5, whaddaya' expect? I went outside to look for them and I was standing in our carport. There is a doorless doorway at the back of the carport and if you step through it you'll be standing on a small concrete slab which sticks out like a tongue into the backyard. Well, I was standing on the concrete slab when I looked about 45 degrees to my left. About 10 or 15 yards out was a small little hill. Our dog Boo-Boo had passed away not long before and his doghouse was still there. As I looked around somemore I saw someone walking and they stopped by Boo-Boo's house. I thought it might be one of my parents but after a couple of seconds I realized that it was a stranger. Then I thought it might be a burgler or something. I could only see the silhouette of a tall man. The outline of his clothing suggested that he was wearing some kind of long coat, or what I know now as a trench coat. And a rimmed hat, what I know now as a Fedora. I could only see his eyes and his mouth, both of which glowed white and he maintained a "Cheshire cat" grin for the duration of this encounter. He also appeared to have some kind of bag in his left hand. It was like an old money bag or something like that. I looked at him, he looked at me....this lasted for at least 5 good seconds. Then he begin to walk stridently towards our woods and just vanished. Little did I know that Daniel (my 3rd older brother) would tell me that he saw the same man in our house without even knowing what I had seen.
The second encounter with Shadow Man is profound for me. I was about 10 or 11 years old. It was about the same time (about 8:00 or 9:00 p.m.) and about the same temperature as before. Me, Daniel, and Mom were pulling into our driveway from somewhere (forgot where). Daniel and I had moved from our room in the house into the isolated section across from the house seperated/connected by the carport. As we pulled in we could see someone holding the screen door open to our room sort of halfway in and halfway out. It was at such an angle that we could see it from the waist and up. However, it was only a silhouette of a person. Me and Daniel looked at each other and were like..."What is Aaron (2nd oldest brother) doing in our room?" I guess we are the territorial type and we didn't appreciate Aaron snooping around in our room while we weren't there. So, as we got out of the van we made sure to keep a fixated eye on the thing which mythodically withdrew back into our room and closed the screen door behind it. We made a power walk B-line to our room. This is the fun part.....there was no one in the room. So, we started checking windows. All of them were locked, as always. Anyone who has ever been in my room (the room I still stay in) can tell you that there is only one way in and one way out and there is NO locking the windows from the outside. We checked the room from top to bottom and there was nothing. Naturally, Daniel and I concluded that Shadow Man had visited us once again. This one wasn't wearing a hat, but was nonetheless an unexplainable phantom. And that was my two most distinguishable experiences of the Shadow Man. I had seen him at other times, but it was no where near as blatant and obvious as said encounters. When I was 13 I decided I was going to try and call him out and communicate with him...You know...Small talk. "How are the kids?" "Want some Tea?" "How do you materialize from other dimensions and vanish without a trace?" The typical stuff. But, ever since I've started trying to make contact with him he has not appeared to me. Shadow Man....you allusive bastard. |
