Newcomers to WA won't have a clue where to go for a good nosh so let's help them decide shall we? I seldom venture down south of the river............ but if anyone happens to be up in Joondalup and fancy a Chinese? I highly recommend the CRYSTAL PALACE Chinese Restaurant which is just round the corner from the Driving Licence renewal place. They do a brilliant business lunch between 12 noon and 2:00pm. Our office was just around the corner on Grand Boulevard and religiously every Friday lunchtime we would venture across to the Crystal Palace for lunch; did so for over 7 years. Many Chinese restaurants have come........ and gone in the surrounding area, but the 'palace' just goes from strength to strength. Reasonable prices, good tasty food, and very friendly helpful staff! Surely someone else online can point newcomers to Perth in the right direction re getting a good nosh?
[b]Thanks for that Bobcat, I adore Chinese :yay Hubby is worried that he wont find a decent curry in Perth wideeyed Any good Indian restaurants to try? Hubby is worried that he wont find a decent curry in Perth
Any good Indian restaurants to try?
Treated ourselves to lunch at the Crystal Palace in Joondalup today. Haven't been there for a while as i have been on a diet........... and to date I have lost 21 kg and 10 inches off my waste in just over 3 months. Today was treat day so bollox to the diet eh?
I had Satay King prawns with fried rice, green veges, and a portion of hot chopped chillies. Magic!!
The missis had plain rice with honey-chili chicken............ not too sure what that was like as she wouldn't give me any?
Haven't had a bad meal in the Crystal Palace in the 10 years or longer i have been going there!
Fab results on the diet
Meal sounds great can't wait to give the place a try.

Have no fear because in downtown Joondalup there is an Indian Curry House that goes by the name of the Red Turban on Davidson Terrace. It does both Northern & Southern Indian cuisine.
It's the real macoy too........ authentic spicy Indian dishes as opposed to your commonplace rubbishy westernised pseudo imitation curries.
Just up the road from Joondalup is the Masala Indian Restaurant in the Ocean keys shopping complex on Pensacola Terrace at Somerly (Clarkson).
The Masala is okay to a degree, food isn't bad but it's all there in the bane-marie thingys and you just go and help yourself which sort of reminds me of my days in a mining town mess hall............. I'd rather be served a meal direct to me at the table with waiters bringing it to me as opposed to going up as many times as i like for self-service dishes! Having said that though.......... the food is pretty good!!!
that'll please hubby! I have to say I'm sure he can't wait to test all the curry houses out to find his fave
