I have to admit I love all the F13 films but, part 3 is my personal favorite. Now IMO part 1-4 have always been the best. Part 1 set the tone. Part 2 was scary as hell. Part 3 made a statement and Part 4 gave it a climax.
The music fits well and is very creepy and memorable. The story takes one of it's first turns away from Camp Crystal Lake and finds us in Higgins Haven. Where Chris Higgins takes her friends to her family getaway but, soon learns she brought them to their slaughter.
Chris has always been my favorite F13 survivor. I like how she starts out as a good girl with a not afraid to party and have a good time adtitude who soon gets thrown into a world of do or die against a maniac hell bent on killing her. The cast does a great job of getting their characters across to the audience and all in all, it is just a real fun movie to watch and the 3D just enhances that.
The kills were very well done. (Well, there was that magic pitchfork:) From Andy getting sliced down the middle to the unforgettable eye poping sequence, you can tell Jason had a lot of fun killing off this bunch. Not to mention Vera's harpoon death and the visual of Fox hanging from the barn rafters will be long remembered.
Jason found his look in this film and since then as Fangoria magazine once put it ..."Hockey Masks are the hottest in slasher head gear!" Richard Brooker played an awesome role in part 3 and that style mask has been my favorite and I am proud to say I own quite a few.
I love catching some of the mistakes on screen like the camera crew in the Volkswagon window when Chris and Rick drive off for example. I have even watched this film so many times that I can even see the Hockey Mask in the lake at the end of the film LOL!
Like I said I love them all but, there is something about part 3 that will always make it my favorite. _________________ Something This Evil ...Never Dies!
