DJ Food. actually just one of them would be great.
you should hear their spectacular one hour masterpiece
"Raiding the 20th Century", it's a continous mix of mashups
interviews and bootlegs. placed together to create a incredible
work of art, dedicated to samples and loop based recording, documenting
the 20th century's contribution to music.
Strictly Kev. (one part of the ambiguous "DJ FOOD" collective), currently tours as a DJ.
Mixing 60's psychedelic music on 4 turntables ending the whole thing in a deep assed drum and bass bombshell.
NinjaTune.
the whole ninja tune crew is NEXT LEVEL on the turntables and in the studio.
it is my dream to see DJ FOOD at the
FAMILY AFFAIR 6 cultural arts festival.

I agree with Doug about Ninja Tune. Compost too! I'd be in heaven seeing Bonobo and/or Koop live.
I'm sure some of the 412dnb fellas would be interested in spinning. I can put the word out if you like.
Love & Respect for the Ohio crew! |

dj Friction
and the Ninja Tune request by HEsoHI reminded me about dj Kentaro--Ninja Tune supplied him with their catalog and said 'make us a mixtape' after he won the DMC championship a few years back (i don't remember zactly what year) and the result was niiiiice. After hearng it I thought damn it would cool to see that cat LIVE, because i was expecting a lot of scratching, and tricks and shit but what we got was that and then some, getting all over the breaks from hip-hop, drumandbass, Ninja tunes downtempo-weird ass hard-to-classify-at times brand of funk, all with his own Eastern-influenced style(he's Japanese). I believe the full title of the album is DJ Kentaro and the Wheelz of Steel or somthing close. Find it now, mohfuckas.
so yeah---Kentaro need be here.
and Friction--he is blazin it up right now in the UK dnb scene--
and me of course- have your people call my people ;p |
