What makes v3 better than v2?

FPBv2 was created from the base software phpBB2. It was made on a hunch that what people really want is the freedom of customization. Roughly 2,500 hours of programming was utilized to make administration and customization easier on our members. On average, it takes a few hours of programming to let someone do 5 minutes of customization. Even though v2 is what made FreePowerBoards so popular, it was time for a makeover. FPBv3 was on the horizon and better programmers had been found.

FPBv3 takes the latest phpBB software and couples it with years of programming and forum administration experience to really put the POWER back in FreePOWERBoards.

Users have far more options for customization and with plenty more on the way. FPBv3 is without a doubt the fastest, most secure, and most flexible free forum solution on the net.

Is my data safe?

Oh yea! We are either gifted (or cursed) with two funny characters on our staff that get a bizarre 'rush' out of excessive redundancy. Redundancy is how many instances of the same data you have. Either money burns a hole in their pockets or they just like the added security but these two have quite the setup of redundant servers going on.

For example:
When you make a new post it isn’t just stored once, it will be stored on a MySQL server with RAID (keeps copies of each bit of data on extra hard drives), then instantly passed on to a replication server (which also has RAID), then archived on a backup server (you guessed it, with RAID), then passed along to an 85lb locking steel-cased replication server (with RAID over four massive hard drives) which sits right next to the desk of our CEO. The steel case itself is hard enough to move but without the key from our CEO a blistering 120dB PCI alarm goes off inside the locked case if one tries to move it.
