Sorry, Dingle - the cat and I are stone cold sober!
But never mind - I'm sure you have imbibed sufficiently for all of us.
Have a good one yourself - health, wealth and whatever else takes your fancy as number three.

A good 2008 to everyone.
Dingle, I wasn't completely sober, but I don't think I held as much as you.
(- And, to avoid risk of futere execution - how do you pronounce it then? It does always sound like zyne to me.

Syne (pronounced in the same way [remember school]as sine). You would think the whole world that has adopted it could at least learn the right words/actions to this song. _________________ 'S riogal mo dhream

And there is no for in most of it (that doesn't come in till the chorus. A lot of people sing FOR Auld Lang Syne all the way through
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And auld lang syne?
Chorus:
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup of kindness yet,
For auld lang syne!
And surely ye'll be your pint-stowp,
And surely I'll be mine,
And we'll tak a cup o kindness yet,
For auld lang syne!
Chorus
We twa hae run about the braes,
And pou'd the gowans fine,
But we've wander'd monie a weary fit,
Sin auld lang syne.
Chorus
We twa hae paidl'd in the burn
Frae morning sun till dine,
But seas between us braid hae roar'd
Sin auld lang syne.
Chorus
And there's a hand my trusty fiere,
And gie's a hand o thine,
And we'll tak a right guid-willie waught,
For auld lang syne
Chorus _________________ 'S riogal mo dhream

One or two of my clients struggled this morning, so I obliged them with bacon and eggs for breakfast........I think that was the right thing to do. So, new year gratings to you all _________________ Forum Expert (esoteric musical instrument division)

I resolved years ago never to make any more New Year's Resolutions! At my age, I haven't got time to bother with what I'm not going to do.
If you're having a Chinese takeaway for the new year, should it be whichever year the Chinese calendar has reached? Rabbit, rooster, ram would all work - but I'm not sure what you do in the Year of the Dragon. |

I rarely stick with resolutions, but this year might be different. My main one is to learn to spin wool, and I've already signed up for a beginners workshop and plan to go to the Edinburgh Spinning Guild.
I also intend to paint more, though whether or not this actually happens, who knows!
In general I just want to make the most of my spare time, go to the woods more, and generally be more productive. |

I intend to stop being bullied and find a job where the people are nice and where I can nurse adults again!
I also intend to loose weight but who doesn't.... _________________ Cake or Death? |
