Hi ya
Hope someone can help/advise!
The cattery I like is fully booked and wondered if anyone can recommend another cattery in the Penicuik, or just outside, area?
If not allowed to "advertise" on here, please feel free to PM me!
I keep changing my mind whether I should put him in a cattery or get my dad to feed/check on him, although I can't see dad playing with him!
Thanks in advance
A worrying Shazzanne _________________

Sorry I cant recommend a local cattery..however Ive found with my own cats that it is less stressful for them if they stay on their own territory when ever I have to go away. Cats can get a bit skittish and nervous when moved to different and strange surroundings. Im sure if your Dad can feed and water your cat he will find a way to entertain himself with the local neighbours and mice[your cat not your dad!]. Cats will happily stay around where they get fed. The kennels at Nivensknowe (if that's how you spell it) take cats as well as dogs.
I've always found them okay.
(The dog's never said a word against them.) |

Got to second Tattie here . Next door used to put her dog in kennels when she went away but she has since let the dog stay here (we feed her and take her out for walks, toileting etc). The dog seems a lot happier staying in the area where she knows all the smells, comfy corners etc rather than uprooting her and putting her in kennels. _________________ 'S riogal mo dhream

I'd back Dingle on that. My dad's cousin puts her moggy into Nivensknowe whenever she's away on holiday. |

Thanks for the replies, which are helpful.
Still a teeny bit undecided but may go for getting dad to feed and check on him.
It's just me being silly, after all, he was a rescue cat and was on his own before I got him! _________________

If the cat knows and trusts your dad, that may be your best plan - can you try it out beforehand, maybe just going out for a couple of hours, to see how they get on?
Some cats (and dogs) would resent a stranger coming in to their house, and might make a bolt for the door, which nobody wants. |

Thomas is fine with my dad - even sat alongside him when dad was building my fence. Mind you he probably thought it was great as it is now a massive scratching post Thomas!
It's my mum he doesn't like, but she doesn't help things everytime she see's him and says "you don't like me"! _________________
