Well, it does feel good to get back in after the decorators have been in and had a good paint 'n' paper, but it feels even better when you've had time to sit down with a nice cup of tea and have a good look around, and make quite sure that everything is just as you left it, only freshened up.

I had been along to try the door only a few minutes before, went to check my mail, and then nearly switched off. But no, I thought, might as well have one last go with the key before I go - and hey presto! Before my eyes the Support Forum struggled out of its cocoon and back to life.

I couldn't believe it - so I headed on down here, and the same thing happened. Slowly, our old friendly page appeared from the mist, as if being born all over again. The same thing happened with my other page, so I knew that the desert had been vanquished - we were indeed truly back!

For the technically-minded amongst us, that was forty one minutes past midnight on the fourteenth. Yes - even at FPB HQ, they recognise the vital importance of being back online in time to wish our most mature * Member a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Many thanks for that although there's always a touch of sadness when you leave your thirties behind!

I always find it best to turn round and start walking backwards at that point.

Ach, age is just a number!! Some people are born middle-aged and others retain an open mind and youthful outlook even as centenarians! Many happy returns of the day to you, Spry!! Very Happy

To be fair to bestof, last time it went down it came back a few weeks later. Just long enough for those of us who were champing at the bit to set up this one . . .

So you see, downtime is never all bad.

Well, I was hoping to keep the cake until the birthday boy himself turned up.

However, I found this one in the back of the cupboard, Asbo. I think Soup left it there this time last year, so it should be ripe enough for you.

Maybe someone had better warn him that the hot bits are burning candles and not chilis.

Either way, I expect Zina will have to shell out for a new monitor.
