One of our servers keeps restarting about once or twice a day. We thought it might have been overheating but the problem remained after we moved it to a cooler area.
On Tuesday, May 15th at 9:00 PM EST we will be taking boards offline to do a quick (30-60 minutes) hardware upgrade.
Please alert your users that they will be unable to access your forum during that time.

Just to warn everyone - according to Chris at HQ we will be offline today:

I can't tell you any more about it, but hopefully it won't last for long.
Version 3 is an updated style of Forum with more whoopy-doo content. It will be easier to add music, send attached files with PMs and so on, and the Theme Builder (colour schemes) will work . . . so they say.
At the moment I don't know whether it will be worth our while switching to the new version, but I shall be keeping an eye on developments.
If anyone would like to have a look at Version 3, let me know, and I'll find a demo for you to look at. If the majority think updating will be a good idea, well . . . I'll think about it.
I may have to break several of Asbo's arms to persuade him to tidy himself up, though.

They keep changing the time and date for this, because they want everything to be ready so as to minimise the disruption to users - latest estimate is some time today.
You may also be having trouble with the Games Arcade. This seems to be part of the upgrading that's going on, so it should be working again soon, I hope.
Apologies to our Members who are missing it. I think the lack of e-mails when you get a PM or a reply is part of the same process.
Fingers and toes crossed . . . it will all be worth it when it's finished. Or so I am assured. |
