It say

Asbo, without knocking anything over or changing all the settings, could you please explain to everyone that my broadband troubles continue.

Virgin and BT blame each other and I'm making no headway at all!

Ask them if they can advise me in any way. Maybe Soup will have some ideas.

Anona

P.S.
Asbo, please don't press any of the buttons in the Admin section until I get back.

Anona I know Virgin are having problems in Scotland especially those that route through the Uddingston UBR
TBH if it has got to the ISPs can't even sort it stage anything I could say or do is moot in other words this situation is well beyond me

Thanks for the sympathy and good wishes, folks.

We seem to have spent most of the last fortnight on various "helplines" which are anything but. Virgin say it's a BT line fault, but they have tried a number of suggestions which didn't work.

BT have been typically BT: Wiznae us mister, a Big Virgin dun it an' run away. (Though in a variety of other accents.)

We're stuck here in limbo. Most of the time we haven't been able to get on at all - today I'm on via an ancient dial-up connection which is actually working today, so I'm trying frantically to catch up as much as I can before it all goes belly-up again.

Does anyone know where I can buy carrier pigeons in bulk?
