And a big thanks for the warm welcome! Im looking forward to the banter I miss the local sense of humour and the madness that made Penicuik unique in the Annals of History.

I exiled myself and my family to the other side of the world 30 years ago but old age must be kicking in as the memories of childhood and wild teenage years in Penicuik are so vivid now! And I have no regrets about any of them I hasten to add- . I have kept up to date with the Auld Land syne topics and thought I have something to add here and there about something or another, so here I am.
Cheers!
Tattie Bogle x

Nice to hear from you! And we'll enjoy what you have to tell us about the old days. Spry - our font of all knowledge on local history - is missing at the moment, but should be back soon.

Hey, I wonder if we're of the same generation, Tattie?   I'd love to hear about your wild teenage years and your childhood and your wild teenage years and titbits of local history and your wild teenage years.   Just a broad kinnae spectrum ye understand (as in broads and wild teenage years).

Hello Spry
If you remember the back seats at the Picture-hoose with Dolly shining her torch at you or the back of the wee hut at the Putting green or the back of the Scout hall or the Cowans after the dances, then maybe we have met or at least we grew up in the same decade!!  Embarassed  Surprised

Cheers!

I DO remember Dolly H. getting a second-hand thrill wi' that damned torch, TattieBogle (oh God, Anona'll misinterpret that again).   And before Dolly it was Frank F.

Was that you I used to bump into at the back o' the Scout Hut and the Masonic Hall?  Did we no' change partners once?  And was it a mistake or meant?

But you've got me full of regrets on one score ---- I was never at the back of the wee hut at the putting green.   Wonder how I came to miss that?   I'll no' sleep the night for worrying about it.
