Hi, mikeart - and a big Midlothian welcome! I would have offered you a warm one, but in mid-October it gets a shade chilly here sometimes.

Anyway, pull up a chair, get a seat by the candle and have a nice warming cup of Vimto. Or Irn Bru, if some of the regulars have left you any.

And after that - don't forget to get posting!

Cool

Don't have any of Spry's cocoa though that sure is violent stuff.

Can't we offer something a bit stronger? Anona was highlighting the life-saving qualities of drip-fed vodka earlier!

Oops! Embarrassing explanation time. (Don't tell the others, because they don't know The Awful Truth.)

You see, when this Forum was originally conceived, it was done as a test run - just an experiment, to see what was possible. It wasn't meant to be the Finished Article. So the lady (I use that term loosely) who did the testing was sometimes faced with questions to which she hadn't realised she would need an answer.

One was the title - which had been suggested by a co-founder, so that wasn't a problem. But then a sub-title was required and, being a lady, she light-heartedly put in "For those who prefer their chocolate plain."

Well, the funny thing was, by the time she had finished her knitting, she didn't have a test forum so much as a fully-functioning Forum, all set up and ready to go. The co-founder was enthusiastic, and so off it went - the regulars from a defunct forum were rounded up and the chatting began.

Quite some time later, another member queried the "dark chocolate" connection because of a preference for the milk variety. Then another felt that there might be a feminine bias, since Real Men don't eat chocolate anyway.  Rolling Eyes

There was an attempt to think of another thing to "prefer", but with no success. So - all right folks, it was me - I just shortened the sub-title.

Now every one of our members is free to prefer anything they like!

Well done for spotting it, though!

I was going to say didn't the (sub)title say something about chocolate (how long has it been changed just shows how blinkered I go through life?).  Would the co founder with the knitting be Zina?

It was changed over a month ago, Soup!

And I believe that Zina did have something to do with starting the ball rolling, yes.
