i shall try (although i may have to wait until weekend as the whole getting up to darness and getting home to darkness never makes for good photos- unless i can snap some artsy night time shots)

Aw, what a shame!  My first school --- 1934 ---- headmistress, Miss Johnston and first teacher Miss Clark.

Then as Esk Mills Recreation Rooms it was a smashing place with carpet bowls, snooker, table tennis, a reading room where you could also play board games and cards, and finally, a hall for Friday and Saturday night hops.

Sorry to see it go but from what you say, Moo, at least they're keeping the facade of the part that I knew.

Photos would be great.   I think I've got some from when it was intact.

Me and my pals had some great times at the Y M  in the 80's.
we used to go there for 3 hours every sunday. an hour on the multi gym
1 playing squash, then finished of with a game of five a sides.
Mind you we had some bad days to, one of my mates broke his leg,
one broke his arm, and another a detached retina after being hit in the eye with a squash ball.
Ah! those were the days.
