Back Story: When she was young, she was possessed to kill her own father. In Maximum Ride and DMFA, she was possessed by an evil spirit named Cegio. In EGS Mayhem, Vincent Vailo did this with a spell while under the control of the Blood Blade. This deeply traumatized her and it took her years to recover.
Despite having no father, she still managed to live on her own with the help of the enchanted meadow and the animals that live there.

Introduction in EGS Mayhem
Before Draco met Joat (the Calica Mage), May met Draco. She had heard of Draco somehow and was in love with him. Draco, on the other hand, felt rather creeped out by her and avoided her.
Later on, after Draco met Joat, she went to DragonLance to slay a dragon, in hopes of impressing Draco. When Draco came by and saw her in Dragonlance, she was in front of a full-grown dragon’s body. The dragon’s head was twenty yards away. This led to the series of events that eventually led to a great bond of love.

Introduction in the DMFA Forums
May was trying a levitation spell when something went horribly wrong. The spell worked fine at first, but then it went out of control and send her hurdling through the air at breakneck speeds. Luckily, she fell into the water and was rescued by Joat (the scientist).

Introduction in the Maximum Ride Forums
She ran through the town in order to get back to her enchanted meadow before the runestone was removed (to build a mall) by construction workers. She came too late. The runestone had been already removed. Then, she ran into the others and the adventure began.
