The current characters here are Zen, Hunter (NPC), and Kalton.

The vine is struck, but if a knife couldn't cut through it, a chain will just bounce right off. However, it's likely the chain catches the attention of the two strugglers (Zen and Hunter).

The vines are likewise no longer any more than a nuisance. But what was that mysterious chain?
Hunter looks towards the tree from which the chain attacked. Since said tree is dead now, there are no leaves to obscure Kalton from view.
"Who are you?!" Hunter yells.
