Hi My Name is Rebecca, I was a Flack until about 7 months ago when I got married. I am related to all Flacks in Australia as far as I have found out so far.
John Flack (born 24.10.1806)came out from England, as a prisoner, on the Juliana. In 1953 after his release from imprisonment he went to Victoria he then married Elizabeth Young (Elizabeth was from Germany).
I am happy to chat with anyone, as I still have one in Australia to find, (as in the first few generations out here).
Sorry to have to edit this but i put his transportation date instead of DOB

It's very brave of you to claim to be related to ALL of the Flack's in Australia, because there are quite a few of them!!
We have quite a bit of information on John Flack and Elizabeth Young and their descendents on the database already: if you have any details that are missing that you would like to share with the wider Flack community then I would be delighted if you could let me have them. In particular I am very interested in the source of John's birthdate: do you know where he was born as well as I have not been able to find a baptism for him as yet.
Also can you please check the date of his release as it is obviously a typo as he would have been 147 years old at the time
The information I have is that John married Mary Scott in 1832 and then Elizabeth Young in 1841, so I would have expected him to have been released before 1832 as I don't think as a prisoner he would have been allowed to marry.
Regards
Denise

Sorry it was a typo as it was late at night when I posted, I meant to say all the flacks I have found so far (I even knocked on a door or two and straight up asked them if they were related lol) which is where I came across a lot of my relatives and information I have.
John Flack born 1806\07 died 24.10.1885
Elizabeth Young born 1817/18 died 15.4.1898
John was born at Newmarket in England. On the 24th March 1820 he was convicted of housebreaking and sentenced to 14yrs transportation to Tasmania. At this time he stated that his mother & brother were living in Hundon (I think that’s what it says) in Suffolk. His convict number was 25988 i think. John was sent on a convict ship "Juliana", a 516 ton sailing ship, built in India in 1798. It's master was David Ogilive and the surgeon was William Graham.
160 inmates embarked, and there was one death leaving 159 whom landed in Hobart. The ship left England 3/9/1820 and arrived in Tasmania 28/12/1820. In 1835 after his release, he went to Victoria, where he met Elizabeth Young, they were married on 11/11/1841 at St James Church of England in Melbourne. Elizabeth was born in Frankfurt, on Maine, Germany. John and Elizabeth had 10 children. Both John and Elizabeth are buried at Harrow Victoria Australia ( I have been to see their grave)
There is also info about John being married before he left Tasmania to a Mary Scott but we have no other information for this.
There is some extra information for anyone who needs it
p.s. sorry if i have made typos I just got out of bed _________________ Website Owner
