Hello,
My father (Francis Peter George Flack 1943-2005) recently died, and I have come across some old photos and information on my Flack ancesetors.
The family came from Chrishall, then in Essex (now Herts). We have found out from the information on this website that around 6 or 7 generations lived there before my fathers grandfather (Peter Oswald Flack b. 1882) who then left and moved to Baldock (Herts).
We wondered if anyone knows anything about the descendants of Peter Oswalds brothers. They were: -
Enfield George (b 1880). We have no more information on him
Albert Edwin (b.1886). He had a son, Cyril Flack, who had three daughters: possibly Pauline, Margaret and Pamela who all emigrated to Australia around 1950's
Freddy (b. 1900), who had one daughter - again we know no more.
We also have some photos of the Flack family of several generations around this time pictured in Chrishall. We can post some scans of these if wanted?

Hi,
We have recently moved to Bassingbourn from Orwell, where my Grandfather Sidney Alfred Flack was a Steam Contractor, we have evidence of a Harry Flack who was a owner of Steam Ploughing Engines
in Chrishall in 1944. We also have a photo of my Father Esmond Flack with Harry Flacks daughter but our Auntie Kath who is now in her 90's cannot remember more. Father does not remember, he is now over 80.
We would be interested in learning if thre is a family connection.

Having recently acquired the marriage certificate for Sidney Alfred Flack and Hannah Maude Newell (married 13 Aug 1906 in Orwell, Cambridgeshire) I thought I would try to resurrect interest in this topic
Could Harry Flack have been Sidney's brother Ernest Henry Flack born 1885 in Orwell?

I wonder if you would be so kind as to let me have any details you may have on (non-living) descendents of Peter Oswald Flack to add to the Flack database. I have recently acquired a copy of his marriage to Amelia Annie Flack (dau of Walter Flack) on 15 June 1907 in Chrishall, but that is where my knowledge ends. Peter and Amelia were second cousins - before anyone leaps to the wrong conclusion
I have also recently received a couple of other marriage certificates which add a bit to the information we have on Peter's brothers:
Enfield George Flack (born 1880) married Mary Eleanor TINWORTH (aged 23 dau of Edward Tinworth) on 7 August 1905 in Chrishall. The witnesses were Edward Tinworth, Peter Flack, and Alice Tinworth.
Albert Edward Flack (born 1886) married Decima Ellen HARVEY (aged 25 dau of Peter Harvey) on 26 June 1909 in Chrishall. The witnesses were Robert and Elsie Harvey.
If anyone has any further information, both Sarah and I would love to hear from you.
Sarah - if you would like to send scanned copies of the photographs to myself and Jim (email addresses on the Email page) they will be gratefully received: one of these days we are hoping to be able to add photographs to the site!
Regards
Denise Carr (nee Flack)

Denise
Yes its possible that Harry Flack could have been Ernest Henry my information comes from the records of the Steam Plough Club who have Harry Flack listed as owner of Steam Ploughing Engines. My Grandfather, Sidney Alfred Flack, was a Steam Contractor in Orwell Cambs and my Grandmother was Hannah Maud Flack. I have quite a few photographs including the one supposed to be of Harry Flacks daughter if anyone is interested.
Do you actually have my grandparents marriage certificate or a copy of it?
