In 1908 William Flack married Alice Shoat in the Epping registration district, and in 1913 John William Flack married Mary Shoat also in Epping.
I am okay with John William Flack - he was the son of John Flack and Maria West - but does anyone know who William Flack's parents were?
Are the two Shoat women related?
There are 10 Flack births registered in the Epping district between 1913 and 1930 whose mother's maiden name is given as Shoat. Can anybody assist in assigning them to the correct parents?
Reginald F Flack Mar 1913
Phyllis M Flack Sep 1914
Violet M Flack Jun 1915
Ernest Flack Sep 1917
Vera N Flack Dec 1919
Jack A Flack Dec 1920
Doreen A Flack Jun 1923
Robert L Flack Jun 1925
Jean E Flack Jun 1926
Lucy Flack Mar 1930
I know William Flack and Alice Shoat had a son Alfred William born 3 Aug 1909 at St Johns Road Epping (I have the birth certificate), but that's as far as I can get at the moment. _________________ Website Owner

William Flack and Alice Shoat may also have had a daughter Alice Hilda Flack born 1910 in the Epping reg district. Alice was one of the witnesses to the marriage of Alfred William Flack to Gladys Isabel May Cooper on 29 Jan 1931 in North Weald Bassett, Essex and as such she might well have been his sister.
Gladys Cooper born in 1910 and was the daughter of Benjamin Cooper, wireless engineer.

I have on part answered my own query by getting the two marriage certificates. William Flack was a widower when he married Alice Shoat in 1908 and was the son of Abraham Flack (and Eliza Reeves), making him the uncle of the John William Flack that married Mary Shoat in 1913.
Alice Shoat (aged 23 when she married in 1908) and Mary Shoat (aged 25 when she married in 1913) were both the daughters of William Shoat, and looking at the 1891 and 1901 censuses do appear to be sisters, both being the daughters of William Shoat and Emma Wood who were married in the Epping registration district in 1876.
I would still appreciate any help anyone can offer to sort out the children of these two Flack / Shoat marriages!
Regards
