Leeds assistant manager Gus Poyet has been charged by the FA after comments made towards referee Andy D'Urso following the club's Carling Cup tie against Portsmouth in August.
Poyet launched a stinging attack on D'Urso after Leeds' 3-0 second-round defeat at Fratton Park last month.
The former Chelsea star accused the referee of having a personal vendetta against himself and Leeds boss Dennis Wise, dating back to their playing days.
Not good enough
Poyet said: "Andy D'Urso is not good enough for us and I don't want to see him at a Leeds match again.
"He keeps laughing during games and doesn't make any decisions. If there is something complicated in the box he never gives it.
"We had a bet with the fourth official who would get the first yellow card and of course it was us."
Personal
He added: "He (D'Urso) can't forget things he has done to me and Dennis (Wise, Leeds manager) in the past. It is sad and it has happened again since we've been in management.
"It is too much. It is personal. He has sent me off before and that's not hard but when it is against the team it is not right."
The FA has now decided to act against Poyet's attack and he has been issued with a misconduct charge under FA rule E3.
Poyet has until 4th October to appeal the charge and if found guilty he could face a touchline ban.
