Southend manager Steve Tilson is tipping Swansea City, Nottingham Forest and Leeds to emerge as their main rivals for promotion this season.
Just six points separates the top 11 sides in League One, with the Blues currently second and just a point adrift of leaders Leyton Orient.
Tilson has targeted the trio as the clubs to watch this season, and believes the league table will provide a more accurate gauge of who can go on to seal promotion in the coming weeks.
Ironically, it was at Swansea's Liberty Stadium during the last game of the 2005-06 season where Southend sealed their promotion to the Championship.
Unfortunately for Southend they found life in the English League's second tier too tough and where relegated after just one year.
Southend are currently in second place in League One on 22 points, but Swansea have a game in hand and so could overtake them.
Steve Tilson said:
"I think the big sides - Swansea City, Nottingham Forest and Leeds - are still yet to come through."
"I would expect those three to be up there definitely because of the size of the clubs and the money involved at the three clubs."
"It's a really tight league and at the moment two or three wins can push you right up there and two or three losses can drag you down five or six places. _________________

Lol banter at it's best folks
I can't see Leeds having no trouble of getting up there - just hope this Poyet thing dosn't have an affect on them and they get somebody else in quick to keep morale up
Forest are a decent side - and with the likes of Commons they always have a chance - Swansea for me are always fast getting out the blocks but drop off like there rivals Cardiff and start to sink when it counts
The loss of Trundle will haunt then come March _________________
