Derby County boss Paul Jewell is set to make a summer move for Nottingham Forest winger Chris Commons.
The East midlands rivals are set to both play in the same league next season with Derby being relegated from the Premiership and Forest being promoted from League One.
Commons has bagged 10 goals in 44 appearances for Forest this season and could be tempted to make a switch to their fierce local rivals with an offer of £9,000 per week on the cards, according to The Sun. |
Once again he is linked away from Forest, will be interesting as Forest have made promotion, and will be playing against Derby next season. Derby might be a lure as Jewell is planning on building a promotion side to bounce back up instantly. That might interest Commons. _________________

If that is the case, then good business as CC could use the extra money from the deal, and put it towards a replacement for Commons. _________________

Was talking to the old deer about this one, Earnshaw is a player that is exciting alot of people down the City Ground it seems. Her opinion on Commons is he is a good player to have, but tends to think he is better than everyone else connected with Forest. So selling him on could be a good thing for next season. _________________

We can't sell him. He's out of contract so can go for nothing. He only signed a new contract last season for one year. If he goes this will be terrible for him. He's a Nottingham lad through & through and it's well documented he's a Forest supporter as well. The Derby fans wont let him forget it if he has one of his frequent "indifferent" games for them. I for one don't think he'll go. The Earnshaw deal (if it goes through) is completely seperate. _________________
