Once Stuart McCall returns from his holiday it looks like he will be unveiled as the new manager of Bradford City which will obviously be a fantastic appointment for them.

However, that sadly means he has brought his five year spell with us to an end. Stuart McCall has to go down as one of Neil Warnock's best ever signings. Coming in on a free among much scepticism from the fans he quickly established himself in the centre of midfield alongside Michael Brown and they became one of the best duos in division 1 (as it was at the time). He played his part in the magnificent 02/03 season that saw us get into the playoff finals and facup+carling cup semi finals. For me the crucial factor in the playoff final was the blunderous decision by Neil Warnock to leave Stuart McCall on the bench.

Stuart then established himself among the coaching staff and quickly rose to prominensce following the departure of David 'Ned' Kelly to Preston. He was a popular figure and as Warnock struggled to achieve the heights of the 02/03 season calls clamoured for Stuart McCall to suceed him. Stuart was always alive with passion like Neil but also demonstrated clear tactical awareness in his interviews. Not only that but he helped Nick Montgomery blossom into a more than adequate central midfielder this season through his coaching which was also held in high regard.

Its a sad day to see him leaving. Stuart McCall is another name that should be remembered from this spell in our history. Good luck Stuart, I hope you become a fantastic manager

Unlucky not to get the Blades job, byt starting down the ladder at Bradford is a better way to go.
