Nigel Adkins is being left in limbo over whether Scunthorpe's bid for Jermaine Beckford has been successful.
The young striker impressed during a loan spell at Glanford Park last season, scoring eight goals as The Iron won the League One title.
Adkins is keen to sign Beckford permanently ahead of their Championship campaign and Scunthorpe have tabled a bid for the Leeds front man.
But with the Elland Road club currently under a transfer embargo, Adkins is being made to wait to learn whether they can land Beckford.
"There has been an offer on the table for some time now, and Jermaine is desperate to come, but we have to be patient," he told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.
"There is no transfer activity either in or out of Elland Road at the moment.
"We have to wait until the club get the all-clear again following the financial problems they have had this summer."

I really hope that we can keep him. He was white hot for Scunthorpe when he was on loan there and he could be a big player for us next season. Too many of our young players have been let go for a pitance and have then gone on to be successful at other clubs |
