CAN WE CLEAR OUT AROUND IT AND POUR SOME YOU CART IT CONCRETE INTO THE HOLE AND LET IT SET UP AND SEE IF IT WORKS IF NOT JUST PULL IT OUT AFTER THE NEXT RUN WITH THE BUCKET OR THE CLAW. OR TRY AND GET IT CLEARED OUT AND FIND A REALLY BIG FLAT BOULDER TO BLOCK IN THE HOLE. JUST TWO IDEAS OR TRY AND DIG THE REST OF THAT AREA AROUND IT A LITTLE TO MAKE IT MILDER?

I've read both good and bad things about the first run.. yes it was long and the pit was rough. The fight was ridiculus but no one can control the actions of other people so don't blame the staff for that. As far as the hole goes.. well it was posted that Herschel was having surgery and as far as I saw there were only 8 or 10 drivers that were there to help with what was done with it. With a little more help more may have been done.

I think a vote was taken a couple seasons ago and the laser timers were chosen instead of a concrete bottom for the pit... I could be wrong.. Herscel??  but that's a good suggestion and more input would be great

Never said the fight was the staff's problem. I don't believe anybody stated that!!!!!!!!!  People get drunk, then there mouth gets in their way. I hope they were thrown out, or arrested. I know Herschel addressed it properly.

As far as the pit, the concrete bottom----------- believe me you don't want that Shocked  Concrete is very hard on tires. When trucks get to the bottom of the pit, those boggers, and swampers will get cut to pieces. We ran in a pit in Brumley like that, and we haven't been back Evil or Very Mad
Eveybody makes it out, but tires are expensive Shocked  Evil or Very Mad

Temporary fix to the hole would work for a while, but it's just gonna keep coming back.

And yes Josh, i like going fast, but my junk chevy ain't that fast Wink

was a good first outing. had a great time! my truck didn't do to well, transfer case popped out of 4 wheel, but had a blast finnally gettin' back in the pit. can't believe the amount of people there! especially considering the cold weather and threat of rain. lots of trucks and spectators!

as for the fight i was very near to it and it was just a bunch of yellin' and bitchin' near as i could tell, didn't see any punches thrown. staff was on it pretty quick and some fellow racers helped keep the peace too! we've all been couped too long this winter, i think some folks were just shakin' of this loooooong winter!

as for the pit, the hole does need to be addressed, but that's just one of those things. herschel will be on soon i bet! i definitely am very againt a concrete bottom in the pit, (large flat boulders are out too, in my opinion.) i can't buy that many sets of tires a season. unlike dirty i have never run a pit with a concrete bottom, but i have driven boggers on the road, they don't last!!! let alone spinnin' them on the bottom of a mud pit!

but anyway..... great turn out!...... tons of fun!.......and a really good show to boot! thanks to all you guys who make it possible for me to come out and have some fun in the mud!!!

Herschel, do you have a way to pack some more dirt in the bottom of the pit, we use a rubber tired packer and a sheeps foot, just a thought!! I know it can be hard to get rid of a hole! we use shale clay as the base of the pit, packed it tight.....no concrete unless you are pouring one heck of a bottom floor and it better be level!!! we have talked about doing that for our double lane bog pits!!!!

THOUGHT ABOUT DOING THE CLAY THING AGAIN BUT THE COST OF DOING IT IS GETTING HIGHER WITH FUEL COST AND IT DON'T HOLD MORE THAN A RACE OR TWO  THOUGHT ABOUT JUST CUTTING IT OUT AND MAKING THAT PART A LITTLE DEEPER  Rolling Eyes  Wink I KNOW EVERYONE WOULD LIKE THAT DEEPER IS BETTER RIGHT  Shocked  Rolling Eyes  Wink  THANKS FOR THE SUGUSTION  HOPE TO MAKE IT OUT TO RACE WITH YOU THIS YEAR A TIME OR TWO  IF PRICE OF FUEL WOULD COME BACK DOWN CAN YOU BELEIVE THESE PRICES I PAID $4.05 FOR FUEL FOR MY DAILY DRIVER SAT  THIS IS GETTING WAY OUT OF HAND TALK TO YOU LATER JASON
