I'm guessing you're refering to when he said something like:
"That was the first time you called me Remy since you dropped into this timeline. You trying to make me blush?"
Yeah, that was just him trying to provoke Bishop since, IIRC, Bishop had also said he still doesn't trust Gambit. |

I've found a couple of other rumours on various sites about X-4 and Josh Holloway being approached to play Gambit:

Nothing concrete yet, but the wider spread the rumour the more likely that some of it might be fact.
Oh and apparently Johnny Depp was slated to play Gambit according to one of the early rumours.

Yeah I heard that before (admist a shriek of girly Depp fans)......still, not sure I'd be 100% happy bout either of them but I will be 99% happy just to GET a movie with Gambit in!
