I would say that I am also a 3-6 issue arc person, and I do enjoy it if there is an over-reaching arc over the top (a bit like the New X-Men stuff where there has been a few small arcs all built into the larger story of post HoM)

Welcome btw, I'm the Matriarch, but I'm really friendly. As you saw above, I'm not on the list of people you should be scared of.

Besides I have never ever chlorformed a member of this guild. Nor did I bring the rope and the whip to the party Smile

And also the 12 issue stories are just a real pain in the neck to keep up with, I mean, we got this whole Shiar saga going on with Uncanny, and the writings good, its just feels like its overstaying its welcome.

I agree....I find it hard to keep up with Astonishing X-Men as, although the writing is good, it has been a bit erratic in release dates (long gaps) so, unless it's read as a TPB the flow is interrupted and the plot forgotten over the 12 issues.

Ps(Hiya Turbo! Good to see ya back!)

Astonishing has provided some of the best laughs of late.

Gah, I love Astonishing, Adjectiveless is still my main course but I like to think of Astonishing as the dessert, it dosent come often but when it does its very sweet. Really, the whole Hellfire club arc was extremely serious but had a great amount of humor with it, especially with Wolverine and his....childhood regression XD

They are well written and as a Whedon fan I think he is fab at getting that mix of humour and wit within a serious storyline! I just found that I couldn't follow it as well as I liked as by the time I got the next issue I had forgotten the last one!

(Doesn't help being in the UK and on a monthly subscription so the gaps are loooong!)

That regression was so damned funny. The cure was even better. They also had Hank pretty much at his best.

All they need to do now is show camp disco-queen Logan [as in, Broadway Hugh Jackman] and we'll have the full set. I love those quotes. That issue had me rolling about on the floor. [Yes, I actually slid off the chair]

I remember that issue was the first issue of Astonishing I had picked up, and it was really a WTF moment for me because I had no idea what was going on XD

Oh man, I wish I could see your face when that happened!

I think first comic I ever read was Stef's 'Prisoner of Fire' graphic. Extreme. One of the best Arcs they did- got me hooked on Sage, for starters, and showed Remy and Rogue in an interesting light.
