Hey there, just found this bit of gossip and thought it might be of interest:

Brian Cox in Wolverine?

Source:Ain't It Cool News February 2, 2007

Ain't It Cool News received word that Brian Cox told BBC's Film 2007 that he was asked to be in Wolverine:

It's set seventeen years ago, which is fine for Hugh Jackman as Wolverine doesn't age but for me, I'm thinking they could what they did with Patrick and Ian for the start of the third one. I know my character is in it, they've asked me to be in it but that was a while ago now, it's completely stalled so no start date as yet.

Yeah he was good! And of course a big part of Wolvies past concerning Weapon X. I think its good that they have a bit of continuity between the X-Movies and the spin-off.

He was indeed a very convincing villain, and had good motivation for what he was doing. I'd love to see him in a Wolvie movie, especially if they do the anti-aging magic with him.

Sad to hear that the project has stalled somewhat though.

Last I saw it was scheduled for 2008 so a bit of a wait yet!

As for the anti-aging CGI....must be weird for an actor to see themselves like that! hahaha.....kind of insulting you know! (although of course they understand why it needs to be done) Very Happy

I would say that it is only kinda insulting if it is for the whole film. If like in X-Men 3 it is only for the introduction, then I say go for it Smile

I too would love to see myself as I'm going to be in 10/20 years time. It would be so cool.

[sorry, bit off-topic] but have you seen that programme 'Honey we're killing the kids'....they 'age' their children to shock the parents into changing their childrens diet and lifestyles, although I think its total bull to some extent as the way they make these kids appear (as if they're gonna be scabby tramps)compared to the 'healthy' grown-up image! Scare tactics or what!

Thats the most bizzare show idea i've ever heard.

Actually, I read an interview with Ian Mckellan and he says its one of the most remarkable bits of technology hes ever seen and he hopes it goes mainstream, especially considering how easily it is applied, no makeup, no bluescreens, just film the scene normally. He says he likes the idea of being able to play a convincing Romeo ten years down the road.

Is it bad that I can't wait to see this movie and will probably go see it no matter how bad the reviews are?

Brian Cox made a very convincing bad guy- he's a pretty damed good actor. Dude. Hopefully his talent won't be wasted.

oh, I'm going to see the movie no matter what.  Heck, even if the movie ends up being a piece of crap (which I don't think will happen...I mean, they have good actors and the reviewer guy in our paper always says bad things about good movies so I don't trust his reviews) at least its over an hour of Hugh Jackman on the big screen so it wouldn't be a complete waste of time....

I agree with ya Velocity! Hugh is a BIG incentive to watching any movie! And lets hope we really get to see his feral side in this one!

More Wolvie news from Superherohype.com:

According to massive actor/wrestler Tyler Mane, discussions are under way to have his evil mutant from the original "X-Men" movie return for the highly anticipated Wolverine spinoff flick. "We will see," an optimistic Mane revealed recently. "There is talk of a Wolverine-Sabretooth [plot], and we will see what happens with that." Mane might have some competition from Vinnie Jones, however, who has insisted in the past that his Juggernaut will be the target of those famed adamantium claws. Nevertheless, Mane's comments would seem to support fans who believe the prequel will have Logan seeking revenge against Victor Creed — who eventually became Sabretooth in the "X-Men" comic book series. "We will see," Mane said cryptically. "You never know."

Good news eh? I'd LOVE to see more of Sabretooth! Much more so than ol' Juggs thats for sure!!!
