Good question Stef, and I have an answer for you:
Because of the dark background, and the fact that the rest of the text becomes black, you cannot see the rest of the text.
To fix this, when you quote something, highlight your text and set the colour to white.
This should allow you to see it.

Doesn't have to be white though. It can be blue, or purple, or green...
