I'm not sure if Gambit will be an X-man after this, maybe that means wayy later, because.....

Thanks Ace. It's been frontpaged, along with the stuff from Lord E.
Who knows what is going on in those devious minds of theirs. Gambit may well stay a villain, or he might get a solo series to sort things out in. Either which way, at least they've got something planned for him and he won't be consigned to limbo (again) or killed.

The way I see it, there are a few candidates for their own solo at this point. I'll list them in likelihood of them having a series. I think there also could be more than one solo coming from this list of characters:
1. Cyke: marvel is talking him up, talking about him returning to his rightful place atop all the X-men
2. Gambit: another character that marvel is running the hype machine about, his return has been lauded as one of the best issues that has been made in the last few years. He was on 2 separate variant covers for the issue, that should show you something.
3. Rouge: Mike Carey built her up, and hes staying on for something. As one of his fav characters she might just get a solo. It would help show how she manages to deal with 8 million sentient minds- if she survives the messiah compleX arc.
other than them, i thought of beast, but he already stars in a mini of his own of sorts, endangered species. Mr. sinny came to mind as well, along with Mystique. however i feel the top three most likely are up there, with two likely to get solos, and Cykes all but guaranteed.

Is it bad that I kinda hope that Cyke does get a solo. I used to hate the guy back when he was Mr Stick-up-his-ass, but with the more cynical, more human Cyke that we've been seeing lately I find he's grown on me.
I also hope that Remy gets a solo. If it was written well it could herald a new start and a new fanbase for him, and you're so right about the hype being too big for him to just phase into the background again.

Sorry, I didn't see your question. I only saw Ace's reply. I think I kinda answered it, and so did Ace though.
To summerise, since they are planning some solo series it does look like Remy is one of the big contenders for it, as well as Cyke and Rogue. I hope he is.

I think we should wait and see what they do with him before we start anything. We've got the main thing that we wanted, which is Gambit back in the comics and it looks like he is here to stay.
If we put any more pressure on them at the moment we will come off like fanatics and we don't really want that. We want to stay reasonable, that way they'll listen to us for the big things (like if they were to get rid of him again).
We don't want it to be a case of the Boy Who Cried Wolf.

I await information from Mr. Carey regarding this, until then, I think we need to keep open minds about this. They have denied nothing, they havent confirmed anything, but they have made a vague statement, there are no plans, but that just means they havent been made yet.
