I kinda like the teaming of Sunfire and Gambit...hell I am just happy to see Gambit back..But anyways...why do they want to kill Cable soo badly...and what's going on with Mystique and Iceman...
Doesnt any one else find it funny that in one comic they have Rogue hook up with him and in another has Mystique with him...HUH? I guess they cant resist the coldest of his...touch. Any o ways.

Why were the Marauders taking people in New Orleans down?
The people they took down were, as you mentioned Quiet Bill and The Witness. This brings up two possibilites, either 1) The Marauders are hunting down people from Remy's past, or, and I think this is more likely, 2) They're hunting down mutants with dimention or time warping powers/people from alternate dimentions. Which may also explain part of why they went after Cable, the other part, at least from what I took from Sunfire's statement, is that they wanted the information from his computer.

My question is this: Why was Shiro running around with an outfit seen only during the Age of Apocalypse AU? There wouldn't be many folk around who'd know to design his costume like that. Although I can think of one person who would not only know that costume, but might be likely to be working with Sinister on this whole Mutants Going Extinct problem: Black Beast.

I personally think it could be a mix of both. It makes it interesting to think that they are taking down people with dimension/time powers. And yes it did look like Sunfire wanted to take Cable down as well, not just get info, with the whole 'closing that door' thing.
I think Quiet Bill was depowered after M-Day, which would mean that it was pointless to kill him for his powers. As for the Witness, we don't know that they killed him. Sure, Scalphunter had a shotgun to his head, but that could just have been a case of "come with us or die".
I also think that it could be a control thing for the Marauders. They're taking down people from Remy's past, cutting his ties to the person he used to be, killing his Buddas if you will. Now they are either doing that because he asked them to, or they could be doing it to cut off the people that could possibly save him should he decide to switch sides again. Remy hasn't exactly got a good track record with staying on one side without an alterior motive recently.

If so, that would be very, very cool.
I love the way that Carey has done his homework and is pulling characters who had featured in what came before, even in a minor way like Quiet Bill, and reusing them to further his story. Even if Quiet Bill lost his powers, they could be offing him 'just in case'. Let's say Sinister is playing at reinventing the X-gene, maybe there are certain mutants he doesn't want regaining their powers. Or perhaps, since mutants were depowered by an AU occurance, he wants to make sure all the doors are closed should he succeed. That way no one could undo what he did do.
I was wondering that about the Witness, we never saw him go splat. And I have to wonder if you could really kill the Witness with a shotgun...actually I have to wonder if you can kill him at all. I just don't see a way to kill a guy who exists in all possible timelines concurrently. Doesn't seem probable. Maybe Sinister just wants to have a word with him.

There are indeed a lot of maybes. And it's so exciting.
I'm tempted to have a countdown for the next issue, since that's when we're going to know more and maybe some of the maybe's will be resolved.
I don't think the Witness is dead. We saw Quite Bill die, we didn't see the Witness die. I think Sinister wants a word with him.
I also think Sinister is closing doors.
