Wizard World hits Chi-Town. Discussion of Messiah Complex and other related events. Theres a small mention of Gambit, small enough to fit it all here:
| Quote: |
Next, a fan asks about the future of the Ragin' Cajun himself, Gambit. Asking if any big changes are in store for him, Quesada quips, "Yes, he will now be throwing business cards instead." While on the topic of mutant heartbreakers, a fan asks the panel what they think of the Emma Frost/Cyclops relationship. Quesada answers that he loves it personally, because it represents a change, and change, afterall, is what makes the comics world go 'round.
Moving back to "Messiah CompleX," a fan asks the panel what we should be on the lookout for, to which Quesada mysteriously answers "Cable is on the rise," inciting whispers from the crowd. "Wait, isn't he dead?" the crowd asks themselves. Very sly, Joe, very sly. |
It seems they're taking it for granted now that G will be a big player, and they think everyone else knows it as well, so they're making jokes. pretty funny ones too. i added a lot that didn't directly include him for one reason-they reference him. Cable on the rise has to do with Gambit directly, seeing as hes the one who killed him. and change does too, as Gambit has gone through some interesting changes of late. stay tuned. _________________ He doesn't do this often, become a fighting machine. Why am I not surprised that Cable either isn't dead or will come back. I'm beginning to think that if there isn't a body then you can't believe that they're dead... and even then. Ah Marvel, how you tease us.
Interesting read Ace, thanks for that. _________________ And I sit, endlessly watching the people as they walk below me, knowing that I will never walk among them, knowing I will never live as they have lived and loving them for it.

Nope, Gambit was not trying to stop it. He didn't appear to be fussed either way.
The only time he stopped Sunfire was at the beginning of the fight because he wanted Cable to lead them to his computer systems. _________________ And I sit, endlessly watching the people as they walk below me, knowing that I will never walk among them, knowing I will never live as they have lived and loving them for it.

Further news from wizard world chicago:

| Switching to X-Men, the question was asked of just who should be watched closely in the upcoming "Messiah CompleX" event. "Gambit," said Cebulski quite mysteriously. |
This was from the Cup o' Joe panel led by Joe Quesada. we're still hearing more about 204 than 202. _________________ He doesn't do this often, become a fighting machine. The Cup o' Joe panel can be found here for anyone who wants to read the whole thing - http://www.marvel.com/news/comics.481.WW_Chicago_2007%3A_Cup_O%27_Joe_Panel_Report
And it's on the front page of the Guild as well. _________________ And I sit, endlessly watching the people as they walk below me, knowing that I will never walk among them, knowing I will never live as they have lived and loving them for it.
