Hi guys.
I've been thinking for a while about moving the forum over to a dedicated host with shiny new technology. It'll mean an end to down time, an end to slow loading speeds and a nicer look to the place. It might also mean that we retain more new members.
Now there are a couple of problems with this, mainly that I can't back up this forum at the moment, so if we moved across now we'd have to start from scratch again. We have a couple of options and I wanted to ask your opinions on them.
1) Move now, lose everything and start again from scratch.
2) Hold out until the end of September and see if fpb fix the backup facility and if I can transfer the data across.
3) Hold out until the end of October and see if fpb fix the backup facility and if I can transfer the data across.
4) Don't move at all.
Opinions please.

I'm thinking 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'.....
I know there is SOME downsides to staying here but really its not been a major prob (I presume you mean the downtime work Freeboards are doing) and its been great having a stable site to hang the trench coat since T-Bo's site so I am way happy with how things are! AND new members are starting to trickle in *waves manically at Freya*....moving could lose the newbies we got if they lose the link?
Plus my post count is.....well.....top *grin* so I don't wanna go back to zero!  Totally selfish reason for staying I know but

It depends.
This forum does occasionally crash, and it's really difficult to customise or tart up, all of which would be solved by moving.
I could also leave this here as an archive, as well as putting links in all of the forums to the new one to direct people there?
It does all depend on if I can move all of these posts over.

If you did go for it I wouldn't say all the posts need moving over....just the current ones perhaps? Say....lose any that haven't been posted in for the last 6mths?

I think I'd want to transfer all of the discussions over at least, and the news and art/fics, but some of the other areas could probably be trimmed down.
