Alright so I know this section is for Gambit rumors but don't worry - the title of this post is both misleading and accurate...

xmenfilms.net is reporting the following...

The wolverine movie has been pushed back to a May 2009 release (Quite the change from the July 2008 that we were originally told of)

Now the more interesting part....

Quoting from the xmenfilms.net article...

"The crew is looking to partially film in New Orleans. The site mentions that this might be a clue that the film will introduce GAMBIT - a character that fans have been waiting to see since the first X-flick debuted in 2000"

if you would like to read the full article then go here http://xmenfilms.net/xmfnews/

Modly - Moved because it's a rumour and not definite news.

I'm not sure that filming in New Orleans would really have anything to do with Gambit, but then I tend to take any news of his possible appearances in the films with a grain of salt after X2 and X3.

It could just be that it happens to have a location that they want to use, like the fact that they filmed a lot of the Xavier mansion in the X-Men films in Toronto.

Or they might introduce him. I guess it's a case of wait and see.

I agree...

Since the "official" reason that Gambit wasn't included in all of the other movies was "in a sense he's very similar to wolverine" why would they choose to introduce him into the Wolverine movie?

Sounds a little shifty if you ask me but it is the current rumor...

And FOX is crazy enough to do it...

Hmmm...interesting rumour! Although it sucks that it has been moved back to 2009! Geez.....it sucked enough following the Gambit 'will he-won't he' rumours for X3 for over year only for him NOT to appear! I dunno if I wanna do all that again! But still....hope is hope and there is no point in hiding the fact that I'd be very happy if he IS in Wolverine PLUS how could they NOT put Gambit in it if it IS gonna have a New Orleans section? They could always introduce him in Wolvie (ie: small part) ready for a larger role in an X4?

Could just be like a two minute cameo or something...(think beast on the news in X2)

Or he might not be in it at all...

Or he might be in it a lot...

At this point it is all just speculation.

I'm not sure whether or not I do want to see him in Wolverine though...In some ways I'll take whatever I can get of him but then again if they butcher his character really bad or something I'll be mad. We'll have to wait until the finished movie to see how he turns out - if he's even in it that is.

LOL

There were no "maybe's" in there! LOL

I'm going to remain skeptical till I get confirmation, then I'm going to remain wary till I see the movie, then I'll decide if it was a good idea to put him in it or not.

Yeah that would be cool if he returned...But wait, tough question for you - Who would you rather see back?

Sabretooth or Deathstrike?

Not a tough one for me as I thought they balls upped Deathstrikes character way too much for me! Although the fight and that in X2 was fantastic and I rewatched that soooo many times cos I loved it!

But Sabretooth is my fave villian and I quite liked Tyler's look for the part. I think that he was overshadowed by Rogue and Magnetos part (rightly so for the story) but in a Wolvie movie he is a must as he represents the mirror-image of Wolvies personality....the flip side to his honour and control on his feral side.

I'd like to see Sabretooth more ferocious and wicked and cleverer than ever in this movie! Smile

Oh yes. Sign me up for the return of Creed, and evidence that he's as intelligent and wicked as we all know he should be.

I did like the Deathstrike action in X2...

But I really don't think I'll care either way, Sabretooth is cool, Deathstrike is cool, it's all good.
