· Quote

Ok guys, the X-Men #204 preview is up over at CBR and it's looking lovely, not only the story but the gorgeous artwork.

http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=12149

It's also nice to see that Gambit is going to be within the first 6 pages and we get to see more of Mystique's motives revealed.

Of particular interest is this line from Scott: "If there was one thing that defined us, it was the fact that we kept the door wide open. And that's why Nathan died. Because we gave too many people too many second chances."

The fact that it's in reference to Cable's death and second chances looks like he could be aiming it at a certain Cajun.

Don't forget, it's on sale next week.

I thought that the second chances was referring to Mystique, she was the member that set them all up.

But it was great to see a Cyclops beat regarding Cable, it was something I hadnt quite considered yet, because Cable is so much older than him.

It could be any one of the people that the X-Men have given second chances to. Hell, it could even have been a dig at Emma herself. I guess we're going to have to wait and see.

It was nice to see Cyke dealing with Cable's death. Given how little he's been shown dealing with any of the deaths in his family (Corsair) it was nice to see him dealing full stop.

I think this is going to be a very, very interesting issue.

Didnt think about that either, man lost a father and a son around the same time, good to see he isnt too mopey about it, but everyone he cares about does kinda drop dead.

Come to think of it, in a few months he may be losing a brother, too.

i think it was a general statement of remorse. his "son" just "died" and was killed by two former X-men, sunfire and gambit. Lady Mastermind brought the maurarders into the mansion, and mystique kidnapped a core member. all of them were at least on chance 2 or 3, if not 5 or 10. so he's just looking back and wondering that if maybe they'd been a little more stringent in their acceptance policy that he'd still have a son. however, i think when confronted by these "traitors" (i quote that cause i still hold hat Gambit has his own agenda seperate from Mr. Sinister and the Maurarders) he's going to literally explode and become the ultimate ass kicker he was in the 90's, only with a little heart and hopefully less of a stick up his ass. t'would be nice.

i'm really looking forward to the wolvie gambit brawl that appears to be happening in 205. it'll probably feature some heated dialouge that may reveal to the reader some of what gambit is thinking right now, and that'll be a good read.

EDIT: just wanted to add, LOVE the Mr. Sinister look, with almost human skin. he's already a lot cooler this way. kinda looks a bit like remy too

EDIT 2:...oh no i did not just go there. forget i typed that
Shocked  Laughing anyone else think we're in store for a remy and/or sinister verbal beatdown of mystique on the next panel thats not shown? i know i do.

Scott being an asskicker would be fantastic. It's about time they gave him his balls back, especially given everything thats been happening to him and his family recently. A heart would also be good. I think Scott needs the stick in moderation though, it's part of what makes him Scott.

I have to agree with you Ace that Remy has his own agenda seperate from Sinister and he's just biding his time before stabbing that bastard in the back. I really hope that's the case. Even if it doesn't tie in with the X-Men's side of things, even if it means he's still a villain or at least an outsider at the end of things. As long as he's shown to be the intelligent, scheming thief we all know he is.

Heated dialogue would be great. The fight scene looks like it could be fantastic. I like the fact that it looked like Remy was leaving Sinister behind to deal with the X-Men on his own. Maybe even betraying him? And then having to deal with Wolvie. Oh boy.

Yeah, you did just go there. *slap* I'm loving the artwork, and really wish that the artist was staying for more than just the one issue, however I'm not too keen on the way Mr Sinister looks. He's too pretty. He's supposed to be handsome in a very Victorian kinda way not a bishe.

Verbal beat down of Mystique sounds good. It's looking like part of her reason for going to Sinister was for Rogue's sanity. Got to wonder if that was the plan before Hecatomb?

oKAY OKAY...
Well the fight between Wolverine and Gambit is going to be hot and well needed. I really hope Gambti woops the poop out of Wolverine. I think Marvel has let his character get too big head *cough*wolverine&thexmen*cough* So he needs to be knock back a few inches.

I am all for Gambit leaving Sinny but we all know sinny dont you think he is prepared for Gambit to turn? Do you think Sinny is going to let him go so easily? No there will be another fight between them. And I hope it's a good one. I hope Gambit woops him good.

so i take it sinister isn't so much a leader as a rallying point/ brilliant mind to work with for mystique and gambit involving rouge? that would be a hell of a plot twist, for the two biggest betrayals of recent memory to actually not have gone over to evil but to have their own agenda (something both are known for)

Yes, puts Sinister at a bit of a disadvantage as a leader! And Rogue seems to be at the core of all their plans!
