Heya, as I just read this issue a few days ago I NEED to ask what y'all make of Remy and Mystique? Both are acting weird!
Remy - we can hope - is because he isn't truely on Sinisters side. His 'protecting' Cannonball from getting killed (and making it look otherwise) is a sure indicater, right? But Mystique twice not killing Iceman??? Why? She can't have feelings for him and she blatantly let him go the second time with her cryptic words of warning?
Could she and Remy be working on something together, some hidden agenda that goes way back to the Foxx arc? I find it strange they are on the same team now!
I know we got answers promised soon but what are others thoughts on this issue? _________________ *

I think Remy may well have his own agenda. First there's the fact that he's been very reluctant to actually kill any of the X-Men (he 'let' Cable escape when Sunfire wanted to roast him and then saved Sam with that lame excuse (missed my arse)). Then there's the look that goes between Sam and Remy. I'm hoping we'll see more of Remy's thoughts in #204. Add to that the cover that's the most recent news on the main site and we may well see him switch sides again (or at least go out on his own).
Mystique, I'm not so sure about. It's pretty clear that the reason that she 'killed' Rogue and took her to Sinister to get her mind fixed. Other than that her motives are pretty mysterious.
She might genuinely have cared about Iceman and doesn't dare have feelings for him because it'll only make things harder (if she is a villain). Or it might be that she's on Sinister's side as payment for helping Rogue. We all know that Sinister's 'help' is never free.
I'm not sure that they're working together. It's pretty clear that Mystique doesn't like Remy at all and pretty much never has.
Who knows. Maybe they're working to the same goals and just don't know it. _________________ And I sit, endlessly watching the people as they walk below me, knowing that I will never walk among them, knowing I will never live as they have lived and loving them for it.
Theres some really good possible twists here isn't there!
In some ways Mystique is puzzling me more than Remy as I can imagine whatever his agenda or state-of-mind he would have a deeply ingrained sense to protect his once-pals.....at least from death....as indeed even when he WAS Death he didn't kill. And his 'missing' his aim was way obvious and of course he destroyed the destiny diaries rather than let Sinister get them! If you ask me that was because IN them it may have shown Sinny that Gambit was not on his side or would not remain so?
Mystique, however, I can see caring for Rogue and Nightcrawler on a level even she herself perhaps doesn't understand and although it was shocking that she took Rogue down it makes sense that it was to ultimately save her! LOL...it didn't register til you just said that it was cos Sinny has the ability to help her with the billion-mind thing! Yes: that makes sense!
But Bobby???
Even if she was genuinely surprised at how good he was to her I can't see her reasons for letting him live if she was truely on Sinny's side. Nope. She definitely has an agenda too, although perhaps your right and its just about saving Rogue, and perhaps she knows that killing anyone close to Rogue (Bobby being a friend and X-Man) would in turn make Rogue never ever trust her or accept her again and possibly even make Rogue try to kill her? _________________ *
