Did anyone else check this out? i've had a lot of complaints with new x-men, so i've only sporadically read it, but this issue was quite possibly the best issue of pure interaction i've seen in a while. Theres something about fear being shown in NX-M that takes all of MCX to a whole new level. (anytime beast says "Well played" it makes me smile, along with warming the shit out of my heart. yeah i got all sappy. sue me.) in any case, i highly recomend it. check it out. they might put some parts up over at scans daily if you don't want to spend the money. _________________ He doesn't do this often, become a fighting machine. It's very much a view on how the teenaged, last generation of mutants is coping, or not as the case might be. It's an interesting view on interactions.
Also the writers very much capture teenagerness, complete with hormones flowing. _________________ And I sit, endlessly watching the people as they walk below me, knowing that I will never walk among them, knowing I will never live as they have lived and loving them for it.
i dont know. i am really iffy about this new series. i really dont like how they mess up the old characters in other version of xmen. Basically my question is the old characters in this series. _________________ RIP Heath
This series deals with the teenage students at the Xavier Institute GG, who are being taught by the current X-Men. The current X-Men (people like Cyclops and Emma Frost and Beast) only really guest star at the moment, since they aren't the focus, and they aren't messed with in any way. _________________ And I sit, endlessly watching the people as they walk below me, knowing that I will never walk among them, knowing I will never live as they have lived and loving them for it.
* Surge - Nori Ashida - Team Leader. Absorbs electricity (controlled by gauntlets) and reuses as either electric bolts or superhuman speed.
* Mercury - Cessily Kincaid - Body formed of non-toxic mercury giving her the ability to shapeshift.
* Dust - Sooraya Qadir - Transform herself into a cloud of a sand-like substance and control where this pillar of sand goes.
* X-23 - Laura Kinney - Accelerated healing, feral senses and adamantium claws.
* Elixir - Josh Foley - Omega level mutant capable of controlling the biological structure of any organic matter including his own body. He can heal and kill by touch.
* Rockslide - Santo Vaccarro - His is composed completely of granite, which grants him superhuman strength, endurance, durability and the ability to explode and reconstruct himself from the rocks around himself.
* Prodigy - David Alleyne - depowered. Had the telepathic ability to absorb and mimic the knowledge and skills from the minds of the people in close proximity to him although unable to retain the knowledge he absorbs, forgetting whatever he has learned after a short period of time. Now has all of the knowledge he learnt restored by the Stepford Cuckoos.
* Anole - Victor Borkowski - Reptilian mutation gives him green scaly skin, a spiked head carapace instead of hair, a prehensile sticky tongue, the ability to stick to solid surfaces, and enhanced agility, speed, reflexes, coordination, balance. He can also blend in with his surroundings to become "invisible". He can also grow back lost limbs but they appear like his "hair" and grant him with a higher level of strength.
* Pixie - Megan Gwynn - pink and black (formerly rainbow-colored butterfly) moth wings that allow her to fly, "pixie dust" that causes hallucinations and a soulknife capable of disrupting magic and harming magic based creatures.
Probable new members:
* Gentle - Nezhno Abidemi - The ability to temporarily increase the muscle mass of his body to impossible levels. He cannot sustain this form for long however, as it causes massive strain on his body and seizures that will eventually kill him.

As to who it focuses on, well it's an ensemble book and focuses on the main team, with the other students and the teachyers showing up as cameos.
My faves are X-23, Dust and Mercury, although I also like Elixir and Surge. _________________ And I sit, endlessly watching the people as they walk below me, knowing that I will never walk among them, knowing I will never live as they have lived and loving them for it.
Prodigy and Surge were an item for quite a while, but he broke up with her in the last issue because she kissed Hellion in an attempt to force Prodigy to leave the mansion (to keep him safe.)
And X-23 has a crush on Hellion, who feels the same but is scared of her. Kinda understandably.
And X-23 does indeed rock. She may be a clone, but she's got a really clear personality all of her own. _________________ And I sit, endlessly watching the people as they walk below me, knowing that I will never walk among them, knowing I will never live as they have lived and loving them for it.
Yup, although some comics have shown Gambit as an Omega level mutant. _________________ And I sit, endlessly watching the people as they walk below me, knowing that I will never walk among them, knowing I will never live as they have lived and loving them for it.
They're levels that start at the weakest Zeta and go through to Omega
Zeta - Zetas are not mutants that have powers like the X-Men and other mutants. Zeta mutants are simply humans that have defects. So Zeta mutants would include humans that people would refuse to as "circus freaks".
Epsilon - Epsilon Mutants are unfortunate mutants. Epsilon mutants pretty much have no chance of having a regular life in society due to their major flaws. If that isn't bad enough Epsilon mutants also only have minor superhuman powers. About 20% of mutants are Epsilon Mutants. A good example of an Epsilon mutant is Beak
Epsilon-Delta - Epsilon-Delta Mutants are mutants that don't always manifest their power. An Epsilon-Delta's power will only manifest in certain circumstances and they don't use their powers very often. Their powers my manifest due to trauma, influence from somebody or somebody else or physical contact with someone.
Delta - Delta Mutants are like Alpha mutants in that they don't have any significant flaws. The only problem is that Delta mutants don't have powers that match an Alpha mutant, or even a Beta or Gamma mutant. At least 50% of mutants are Delta mutants making them the most common type of mutant. Some examples of Delta mutants are Forge, Domino and Callisto.
Gamma - Gamma mutants have very powerful mutants but they have flaws. Unlike the Beta mutants a Gamma mutant's flaw is a major flaw that makes their life very hard. The best example is probably Rogue. Also, while Alpha and Beta mutants can pass as regular looking humans, many Gamma mutants cannot because they have physical deformities like Blob or Marrow.
Beta - As far as how potent their powers are Beta Mutants are on the same level as Alpha mutants. The difference between Beta Mutants and Alpha Mutants is that the Beta Mutants have flaws, albeit very small flaws, like the inability to turn their powers off. The Beta mutants are also believed to be about 10% of the mutant population. Some examples of Beta mutants are Wolverine, Cyclops, Mystique and Sabretooth.
Alpha - The Alpha Mutants are the most powerful and most feared mutants who have extremely powerful mutant traits without any significant flaws. Less than 10% of mutants are Alpha mutants so they are very rare. Some of the Alpha mutants include Gambit, Professor X, Havok, Colossus, and Emma Frost.
Omega - Omega mutants are the most powerful class of mutants. Omega mutants can control matter and energy, have unlimited potential and are possibly even immortal. All Omega mutants are also Alpha mutants but not all Alpha mutants are Omega mutants. For example Jean Grey is an Alpha mutant because of her power and lack of flaws and is also an Omega mutant because of how powerful she is. Gambit on the other hand falls under Alpha mutant for the same reasons but isn't powerful enough to be an Omega mutant. Other examples are Iceman and Elixir _________________ And I sit, endlessly watching the people as they walk below me, knowing that I will never walk among them, knowing I will never live as they have lived and loving them for it.

hell of a rundown. excellent post, though i'll argue you to death about gambit being an omega, hes just more latent these days due to untowd circumstances. it'll emerge at the right time, just like the phoniex force emerges at the right time for jean grey, who is otherwise an alpha tele(path/kinetic) _________________ He doesn't do this often, become a fighting machine. Believe me I agree that with his full powers he's an Omega, but as he currently stands he's an Alpha. Since he's got all of his brain matter back I can see that his powers are latent, especially since the whole New Sun thing. Although he burnt himself out he's had enough time that he could have healed that and it's his subconscious that's keeping his powers in check.
I had to do a fair bit of research to pull together the whole list together, and I will admit to going by the power levels of the mutants from one of the Marvel sites (since one of the other sites had Cyclops as an Alpha not a Beta). In fact, I took most of it from one of the Marvel sites.
Do you think something like this would go well on the main website? _________________ And I sit, endlessly watching the people as they walk below me, knowing that I will never walk among them, knowing I will never live as they have lived and loving them for it.

i believe it would go well as an explanation of one of the more confusing aspects of marvel's mutant population, along with a companion piece describing the different aspects of Gambits rating and how he fits best currently into alpha, instead of Omega (new sun) or gamma (do the eyes count? its always been a point of contention for me as to wether those are signigant enough to allow for relegation to the gamma heap, although marvel doesn't think so.) if you need help doing a rundown i would be happy to help, although you seem to have a handle on things. _________________ He doesn't do this often, become a fighting machine.
