Ok now I'm not a big fan of New X-men but the preview pages have The Marauders and Acolytes in it, and we've got a shot of Gambit's back.

http://uk.comics.ign.com/articles/831/831807p1.html

Ramos seems to like drawing the back of him in group shots.  I'm curious to see how this leads up to X-men #205.

Yeah, thanks Nick! I don't get New X-Men so I wouldn't have seen it. Gambit still seems on the outside of the group doesn't he? No matter an X-Man or villian he always keeps himself apart!

If you ask me, it kinda looks like Gambit is getting eyes from Arclight and Vertigo.

But yeah, Crims, I agree with Evan.  Lady M is well hot.  Emma Frost...not so much.  Thing about the Frostitute is that she's a total bitch.  In a snobby kinda way.  Either Cyclops won her over by showering her with really, really expensive gifts, impressing her with his fancy car, or dipping his 'member' in steroids.
Lady Mastermind, I dunno.  Not only is she total eye-candy (ok yeah but which Marvel female character isn't?) but  I imagine you'd win over a woman like that by managing to last longer than her on a binge drinking and partying session.

With her illusion powers how's you know she isn't just making you think she's hot when really she looks like a sack of spuds?  Razz

Hahaha.......for Cyclops dipping his 'member' though! LOL Otherwise he must have secret illusion powers too, esp as he dated Jean for sooo long and she was much hotter than Lady M OR Frost!

I'd be really happy if that closeup of Wolverine's face is him actually being suprised that Gambit is standing there with the Marauders.  I mean, has anybody else noticed that none of the X-men have said anything along the lines of "Hey, have you guys noticed that Gambit's back?  Yeah, he's rolling with the bad dudes now.  What's up with that?"  Nothing.  Not a word.  I really expected more of a reaction from his old teammates, but their lack of discussion or recognition of his return just make it feel like they see him as just another Marauder.  It's really, really annoying.

I notice Storm's with them, and from other preview pages we see she beats up Harpoon. I'd love it if she had something to say to Gambit.  I thought she was like a sister figure to him, and yet since he disappeared she's said nothing about it, ever.

Is it bad that I really want Sinister to win this whole thing? I know he wont.  Or maybe he will and that's why things are so changed.  I dunno, I'm started to go for Sinny's whole twisted mentality of saving the mutant race.  Plus I favour bad guys generally, but only when they're well written, like these ones are.

You aren't the only one. All we had after Gambit disappeared with Sunfire was Rogue's "he'll come back when he's ready, I'm not going after him" and that's it. From any of them. You would think after everything they've all been through as X-Men, and the fact that they know Gambit hates the Marauders (and himself for putting them together) that there would be something said. By someone. Anyone?

I mean sure, the last time they saw him he was still Death, now he's back in his full colour Cajun(ish) glory and running with the Marauders. How do you not comment on that? We can only hope that something comes up soon. I guess not many of them have seen him yet. Bobby might not have and Sam's mind was a little scrambled from Sinister trying to mindwipe him, oh yeah and Cable's dead. I guess that might explain it.

There are only really 2 or 3 writers that have ever picked up on the Storm and Gambit relationship (Claremont and Nietza, and a couple of minor points from others) so it isn't really surprising that she hasn't mentioned a thing. Hell, she didn't mention a thing when he was left in Antarctica or when he became Death, so you really expect her to notice a little thing like him disappearing and returning a Marauder?

Nope, it's not just you. I'm a sucker for a well written, well characterised (and sometimes insane) villain. At the moment Sinister seems to tick all those boxes.

Personally though I'm hoping that Gambit absconds with the baby, leaving the whole lot of them choking on his dust.

I agree with you Stef.
Gambit's return should of had some response from Rogue and Storm...But i dont see Rogue so maybe in the myst of battle in a corner in the night Rogue and Gambit will be fighting off the path of every one else. They will discuss what has happened in the last couple of months

Rogue is still out cold (and completely crazy when she wakes up) in Sinister's lab, following on from X-Men #204. She isn't back with the X-Men, so she wouldn't be see here. They may get her back soon, especially if they're attacking Sinister's lab. As far as we know, Gambit and Wolverine face off after this issue (where Wolvie stabs Gambit).
