It varies from person to person. It usually requires an act of darkness and ritual.
For you, i think an oath followed by a drinking a vat of SDJ would suffice. You would also have to kill an innoccent to make the SDJ with.

Killing an innocent (a peasant here at the guild perhaps?) and making the SDJ would not be much of a problem...
However...Drinking an entire vat could prove difficult...   |

Would be a hell of a lot of fun though. Plus as your master in the way of darkness, i would help with the drinking.
