Before you start cheering, this may not be a good thing. Here is the blurb from the Feb 2008 solicits:

NEW EXILES #2
Written by CHRIS CLAREMONT
Penciled by TOM GRUMMETT
Cover by MICHAEL GOLDEN
The Exiles have barely arrived in a new dimension before they're struck by disaster! Sabretooth, Psylocke and Mystiq find themselves in the middle of a long-running conflict between the two most powerful figures on the African Continent, the Black Panther and Ororo. As for Rogue, her fate ends up in the hands of a young man who calls himself Gambit -- but if you think that tells you what to expect from this character and this story, try again! He needs Rogue to help him save his parents -- Oh, and did we mention he breathes water?
32 PGS./ Rated A...$2.99

And here is the cover:

Now I sincerely hope that is not 'Gambit' on the cover (the blond), since they look like an overweight, middle-aged woman. I sincerely hope that this 'Gambit' has more than just a codename/nickname in common with our Ragin' Cajun. I also hope that Claremont hasn't screwed him over, because if he has I'm going to have a hard time putting this 'Gambit' in the alternate universe section due to loathing.

Like I've said elsewhere, I'm going to reserve judgement until I see more info or the actual comic, but I'm not holding my breath. I guess he could be a shapeshifter, or in disguise *hopes*

Well, considering these are all parallel universe characters (except Psylocke), I cant really expect too much.

Yeah, she's been shuffled off to New Exiles because Claremont won't let her go and nobody else seems to want to pick her up.

I'm going to pick New Exiles up, but I'm not sure I've got much hope for it. Thank god for re-reading back issues.
